oh wow, really??? I hadn't heard of it until Woolfie suggested it. In any case, I can't wait to read it! (though I gotta stop by the library to pick it up haha)
Lol don't worry about it, it was my fault for forgetting haha. But this time I have both the Golem and the Djinni and Miss Peregrine's ^^

:/ oh no that totally sucks!
Was it really good so far?
(I still gotta go pick up my copy from the library lol)

:) Goodie! Hopefully it come in soon!
I'm currently reading Miss Peregrine's and also another book--I want to focus on one, yet want to finish both of them asap. Almost finished my other book though.

Guess we're in a similar boat! Since I put Miss Peregrine's down momentarily to start my other book, and then put that down for a bit before trying my other book, and it went like that for a bit, but now my other book (The Last Wish) is actually getting really interesting.

:) A break sometimes helps! That's what I'm doing with Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. I'm taking my time with it, reading it slowly. Since I don't want to end up hating it by reading fast. For some reason it's one of those books I just can't read as fast as I usually do!

I plan to read the Hobbit when I get through all the LOTR books ^^. Ahhh, nice! Seems like you were flying through Black Beauty! I generally hate reading book over a long period, since I lose interest but for some classics, I make an exception. Man....I really need to get my hands on Go Set a Watchman asap!

It's the second book to To Kill a Mockingbird and now it's out!!! I can't wait to get my hands on it (again...I don't know why I didn't preorder it). :) Me too, I try and finish every single book I've read. There's only been a few books I couldn't finish, but then I wasn't that into them to begin with :/.

Does anyone else have go through non-reading spells? I feel like lately, every time I go to pick up a book, even one of my favorites, I can't focus or follow through with it. :(

I am really enjoying The Golem and the Djinni.
Haha, it's okay Jessi! I only just got the Golem and the Djinni myself :).
And nah, you're not the only one! I was going through a non-reading spell--though it was only for a couple of weeks, still, I couldn't focus on anything, didn't want to read anything, and just couldn't be bothered picking up a book at all!

I'm hoping I'm past it though; I finally finished books six and seven of Harry Potter and so far I'm enjoying the Golem and the Jinni.
I hope I can continue to push through and keep reading. The whole nonreading thing is messing up my book challenge. O.o
Nah, definitely not the only one! If I've read too much, then I'm more than likely to knuckle down and go through a non-reading spell. Not to mention all the other real life obligations that just get in the way.
Yay for you on finishing off Bk 6 and 7 for Harry Potter! I need to get started on the Golem and Djinni myself haha.

Heh don't you hate when that happens? you want to just sit, relax and read but so many things keep getting in the way?

I am still enjoying this book but now that I am about 64% of the way done with this book I am having a hard time keeping my mind focused on the book. It sucks. I have really enjoyed this book so far and want to finish it. I guess part of it is because the book had been automatically returned to the library when I had started it on the first of July. Ugh. It sucks.... I want to finish this book. I only have 36% left until I am finished with it. :(
The Golem and the Djinni is currently sitting on the top of my bookshelf, on the pile of books I got from the library, and with very little time to sit down and read for a few straight hours, it's taunting me with its size!! It's got around 500 pages at least I think! (I haven't dared to pick it up yet, because while I love my big books, I'm intimidated!)
I'll take your word for it and give it a crack either later tonight or tomorrow (Haha I'm partially afraid that once I get started, it'll be better than I expected and I won't be able to put it down, and then I'll freak out over not doing academic stuff!)

Gosh, it can be so hard sitting down and reading knowing that you're putting off things that should be done first. What I wouldn't give to be able to shirk all responsibilities and need for exercise and just read nonstop!

Mmm s'mores~~
I just realised an ARC I have is coming out in a couple of weeks and I haven't gotten through much of it, and I should have finished it by now...but it's kind of...uninteresting/confusing *sigh* but I'll finish it because I want to comment on it lol. And really I just want to read the books from the library--the Golem and the Djinni included.
@Jessi, congrats on finishing the book!
@Both of you, it is definitely hard! I plan to clear one of my days just to finish as many library books as possible. Rinji, you're lucky you've got chores atm. I wish I only had chores to worry about!

Almost there! You start next month right? I've already started and I can feel myself getting busy *nervously excited and yet terrified of the work coming!*

Oh nice! I'm starting to read this, albeit slowly because of a heavy reading load, but still! It's a pretty big book but it reads pretty easily, though the writing doesn't entirely suck me into the world--1899 New York, and despite the descriptions, I still find it a little difficult to visualise, but it's actually pretty good so far. Not like overwhelmingly fantastic--but I'm a bit biased because I've still got a book hangover from reading Vicious.
The stories of the Golem's journey from here on out interests me, and I get a feeling, an odd feeling about this book. I can't put my finger on it, but the style of narration and the storyline itself feels familiar, like perhaps it has the feel of an old middle eastern/mediterranean/foreign folk tale feeling to it?
