Hi folks. I've been lurking in this group for a couple of months. I'm pleased (read: scared) to announce that I've finally got up the nerve to self-publish my first novel. It is available all over the place. My blog provides links.
This book started as an escape one day at work and has expanded into first one novel, and now I have three in my head.
I've always enjoyed the journey of discovery novels and this is no exception. I am a believer that the Earth is precious and this book explores that. I've borrowed a little from Celtic lore and tossed it in for good measure. Duilleog means leaf, for those that are wondering. Anyway, here's the description:
"Visit a land where druids have all but been eradicated and Gaea stands on the brink of eradicating mankind. Join Will Arbor as he awakens his legacy of druidic powers and begins a journey of self-discovery.
This is a world where the Church of the New Order seeks to eradicate this last druid, remove the Lord Protector, and regain their control over the lives of the people of the Realm. Witness the horrors that only men with greed and lust for power can unleash.
This is a book that explores the strength of reason, the beauty of nature, and the lies of religion. A young man, ripped from his family, has raised himself in the wild and discovered a talent and love of nature and harmony. Duilleog captures the joy of his journey to discover truths and his own strength in the face of adversity.
Read as one young man tries to change the world.
Duilleog is the first volume in The New Druids Novels. The next volume, Craobh, is due out Winter 2015, and will continue that voyage of self-discovery before culminating in the third volume, Stoc, due out Winter 2016."
Still working on the write up. Bloody hard to do your own, you know? I'm still waiting on Goodreads to catch up to my submission that the book is mine. Craobh means branch and Stoc means trunk. Yup, all tree things.

I sure hope you enjoy it. It's been a long road to this point and I have to admit to enjoying it immensely.
