SOLVED. Woman gets chickens drunk with fermented corn feed. [s]

It's a christian romance story set it 19th century Texas or Colorado maybe. They have an arranged marriage and move to his house. Sometime in the story it rains and the corn gets wet, she feeds it to her chickens anyway not knowing it fermented and she ends up getting all the chickens drunk. I think the couple might also have a friend named Banjo.
