After spending some more time in the field idly talking with his sister Romeo decided to finally get up and brush himself off. The only reason he really got to his feet in the first place was due to the rumble of his stomach, which he had quickly covered up with a cough, but it also offered him the excuse for them to leave. Besides the sun was almost done setting and the guy had told him to meet him at the Amphitheater whatever time he was available in the evening. Still he was unsure whether or not that meant he would be there waiting or that he himself would have to wait around. Either way he was eager to get his sword and then get some food into his stomach. Muttering under his breath he quickly made a stop at the Aphrodite cabin to drop off the flower crown on his bedside table before continuing the trek across camp with Ellie close behind him.
__
Hearing the soft approach of footsteps Gage made himself visible as he stood up from his crouch, his legs making a soft pop sound after having been in such a position for so long, he’d just wanted to make sure the sword was perfectly polished. Placing it back into the cloth he gave a small nod of greeting before seeing Romeo followed by a girl. Raising an eyebrow he approached them before coming to a stop. “Here you are.” He said, his voice barely above a whisper, but it echoed in way that people were able to hear. Handing over the sword he hummed softly under his breath. While it had crossed his mind to meet at the forge he often found himself out of his elements surrounded by his siblings who had very similar interests. It was nice… just too much at times. Awkwardly his gaze fell back on the fair-blond. “Do you have any interest in a weapon or something?” He asked with a raised eyebrow, his voice raising ever so slightly. While he had no interest there was a small sense of curiosity bubbling through him. A part of him wondered if she and Romeo were together, but then again, the guy didn’t seem like the type to go for… such a girl.
Ellie had enjoyed laughing and talking among the vast fields of strawberries all day with Romeo, but the sun was beginning to dip below the horizon. That, of course, was a signal to go pick up Romeo's new sword from the son of Hephaestus that was crafting it for him. She rose only moments after him and followed him across camp to the Amphitheater, and waited outside her cabin while he dropped his flower crown off. The two entered the large theater, and Ellie's eyes made their way to the deliverer of the sword, and who she assumed was its creator as well.
He certainly was attractive. She probably wouldn't ever admit that such an impression was the first one she received from him, but it was. He was relatively tall, with shaggy blonde hair, tattoos, and a piercing. His features were very sharp and defined, and his muscles weren't bulging, but lean. When she was a considerable distance away, she was most certainly checking him out. She looked him up and down for one last time before she got too close. It was at that point that she averted her eyes and stood few steps away, waiting for Romeo to be finished with the sword. After he asked the question, it took her a few moments to realize it had been directed at her. "Oh, uh-" she stammered, slightly embarrassed that she hadn't recognized that the question was directed towards her. "If you can make a bow that'd be great..." Ellie trailed off, giving him a quizzical look that asked what his name was.
"Thanks man." Romeo said as he took the sword from him. Immediately he noticed how light it was and he felt a small sense of relief. His knowledge of weapons didn't extend very far, so every time he went to the weaponry rooms he'd look around in confusion before selecting a random sword or such from the wall. This offend ended up being more of a problem then not as he lugged it across campus. Slowly he unsheathed it, barely paying any attention to what was taking place between the two. The gleaming metal looked absolutely lethal, but the lack of weight made it feel like he was holding nothing. This was something he'd absolutely need to get used to.
_____
Awkwardly his gaze turned between the two when there wasn't a reply from the girl. Was she mute? Shy? Gage could easily say he wasn't a talker, but when a question was directed at him there was no possible way that he couldn't answer. "Does she not-" he turned back to Romeo before the girl finally said something, clarifying that she'd heard him. "A bow?" He asked with a short purse of his lips. "Are you a daughter of Apollo?" He could've sworn she looked like a descendant of Aphrodite, and after examining the two of them close together it seemed they had many common features that would hint they were siblings. Despite that the bow was a symbol of Apollo. Unable to read social cues he had no ideas she was asking for his name. Instead he took a step forwards. "Would you want any customized arrows?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in question as he returned her gaze, doing his best not to avoid eye contact as he usually did.
Ellie turned slightly pink at the sound of him beginning to ask a question that she could only imagine ended with "deaf" or mute". The fact that he cut himself off when she started speaking even furthered her embarrassment. She was usually very engaged and involved, and such things rarely ever happened. She looked at the ground immediately after she finished speaking, too embarrassed to make eye contact at the moment. But she somehow managed to regain her poise and look up at him when he questioned the bow.
Of course, it wasn't usual for someone other than a child of Apollo or Ares to ask for such a weapon, but it happened to be the one what Ellie was best at. He questioned her heritage and she shook her head, a small smile lighting up her face. "No, I'm a daughter of Aphrodite," she said confidently. She was proud of her heritage, and she was fine if others shamed her or looked down on her for it. That was their problem. When Gage spoke again, Ellie smiled. "That would be great," she said with a smile, glancing at Romeo with his new sword. "How is it?" she asked her brother, a small grin evident on her features. "It sure looks cool." She glanced over at the sword, admiring the way it would shimmer when the light caught it.
((Sorry, it's kind of short!))
Practically in his own little world it took a moment for Ellie's words to register with Romeo. "Oh. Yeah...." He trailed off as his gaze followed hers back towards the sword. While he appreciated fine clothes and the occasional make-up he was pretty sure this topped all of that. Though these were his thoughts his s sub-conscious already knew within a week he'd be tired of it. Material things just didn't hold his attention for too long. "It's wonderful. You should definitely get a bow." He told her with a head nod before placing it back into the make-shift sheath. "That is if you can make one for my lovely sister." He didn't say it as much of a question as he looked back at Gage with a raised eyebrow. Not to be rude, or anything, but the guy didn't look like he had much going on. In fact Romeo was pretty sure a lot of Hephaestus children didn't just approach people to ask them if they could make them a weapon.
_____
When she spoke he smiled slightly hoping his start of a question hadn't offended her. By the looks of her flushed cheeks she was just embarrassed, but he didn't have time to concern himself with that. Reading her confidence in her words he rose an eyebrow. Many people in camp seemed to look down on the Goddess of love and all of her children. Personally Gage had no opinion in the matter- he was Switzerland. Hearing them discuss the bow he hummed softly to himself already in thought of how he'd build it. The materials wouldn't be so difficult to gather and if he spent all night and all day tomorrow in the forge he'd likely have it done in a days time and would take a day extra to perfect it- he delivered nothing but fine quality. "Yeah, I can make it happen." He said while brushing his fingers through his hair. Tilting his head to the side he examined the girl closely before taking a couple steps towards her. "Can you hold out your arm for me?" He asked, wanting to get precise measurements.
((No it's perfect! Especially since I have two characters and your matching that >.<))
Ellie smiled at the sight of her brother's admiration of the sword. Of course she was happy that he liked it, why shouldn't she be? She guessed that he probably wouldn't be quite so thrilled at the sight of it after a week or two, but that wasn't the important part of the situation. Romeo liked his sword, and it seemed like it would be a good fit for him. Granted, Ellie had no idea what people wanted out of a sword- she had only handled them a few times in her life, and she hadn't been paying much attention then. There were boys practicing a short ways off, and watching them had been much more important than learning how to handle a measly sword.
Her smile only widened when Gage said that he could make her a bow. She clapped lightly a few times, flicking her hair back over her shoulder. "Yay! I was getting a bit tired of using the camp's bows. They've seen better days for sure," she sighed, thinking of how she had to manage with bows that had strings that were slightly loose or chips in the bow's frame itself. But it wasn't a big deal, she wasn't that good of an archer anyways, so it didn't really affect her. She offered him her shooting arm when he asked, which happened to be her left arm. She shot left-handed, which wasn't very common among archers. Ellie liked it because it made her unique, so she really didn't mind being different.
"It should be no problem" He heard from Gage before Romeo was once more in his own little world of fascination. Not wanting to leave his sister alone with a practical stranger he perched himself on a rock nearby, enjoying the small things. The small things being like the sound of the birds above, or the rustle of the wind in the trees. Yeah, maybe he was just fooling himself into believing those could actually be things he enjoyed. Instead he once more pulled out his sword, this time to admire his reflection in the mirror-like metal. He'd have to take good care of this thing if he wanted it to stay so nice for a long time. It almost didn't matter anyways as his dad was very against weapons in the house.

Gage raised an eyebrow in amusement as she began to clap her hands, it couldn't possibly be that exciting. "That's for sure, they've been along longer then Chiron." He said in nodding his head in a sign of agreement. When the simple string of the bow broke with a simple touch that meant they were in need of repair. As she offered her arm he once more took a step closer until their bodies were almost brushing against each other. Gently he took her arm, running his fingers smoothly over her shoulder, trying to get a good glance at the measurements. She didn't seem to have too much muscle in her biceps, so he would have to keep that in consideration. Much like Romeo's sword it would have to be light to compensate for her weight and muscle tone. With his hand holding up her elbow he quickly let go before taking a step back to get one more look. "Alright, I should have it done in a few days, do you have a preference in color?" Gage asked, his tone slightly clipped. When it came to these types of discussions he was all business- which basically meant this was his usual tone.
((Sorry, I have to cut this one a little shorter because I'm busy at the moment!))
She chuckled at his joke about the bows that belonged to the camp. "That's way too true," she said, grinning. She tensed up when Gage came closer, much to her chagrin. She really didn't want to, and so Ellie did everything she could to keep herself still and relaxed when Gage was near so he could get an accurate measurement of her arm. She couldn't help but think that Gage was very attractive when he was concentrating. It really wasn't what she needed, and it really wasn't something she wanted to happen. She relaxed when he finished sizing her arm up, taking a small step backwards. "Thank you," she said in response to his time estimate. "And not really. Just whatever color the wood is will be just fine." She smiled at him in gratitude, flicking her head slightly so that the loose hairs moved out of her way. "What's your name?" she asked, realizing that she hadn't even formally asked. Her cheeks turned a pale shade of pink, one barely noticeable against her skin tone. She hated that she was getting so embarrassed about everything, especially since it didn't usually happen that way...
Gage lifted his eyes to meet hers for a brief moment after she laughed. He wasn't funny, so he was sure she was just doing it, to make him feel better about himself. It was that or one of those awkward chuckles that people made when they were in an uncomfortable situation. Though he saw her tense beforehand he made it his personal mission not to rush. He wanted her to be as happy with the bow as Romeo seemed to be with the Sword he had yet to put down. At the moment it seemed as if he was admiring himself in the reflective metal and he had to hold back a laugh of his own. Aphrodite's children could sure be full of themselves. Seeing her take a large step backwards he raised an eyebrow? Had he not showered, or was his father's ugly reputation beseeching him. It was likely the later. "Okay." He responded, his replies much shorter then they had previously been. Packing up the few items he brought along with him he was about to be one his way before she spoke once more. Being asked his name he pursed his lips. "Gage." A moment of tense silence passed before he remembered his manners. "And yours?" The subject didn't interest him much as it was likely in a few months that he would forget.
She stopped laughing only moments after she had started. The joke hadn't been that funny, and warranted less of a chuckle than she had done. She wasn't sure if it was just to fill the awkward silence between the two of them, since he obviously wasn't very talkative, or if it was because she was nervous. Maybe she had found it much funnier than she needed it to be. Regardless, she was just making a fool out of herself, and she was feeling more and more inclined to leave. "Thanks again," she said, turning the corners of her lips up in a small smile. "Gage." She added his name afterwards, just because she thought it was nice to address people by name. "I'm Ellie," she said in response, doing her best to ignore the long pause. She played it off like it hadn't happened instead of worrying about the fact that he hadn't returned the question immediately. Ellie could tell he didn't get out much, and spent most of his time with his inventions.
