Cynthia Marsh (cynthiamarshauthor) | 3 comments I'm in awe of how many books you have got through, as I don't seem to get nearly enough time to read anymore.

I have a crate of unread paperbacks that I never seem to get around to but can't quite bring myself to pass them on to friends before I read them

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm quite a quick reader though, quicker than average but not a speed reader.

You should set yourself a target to read at least 2 paperbacks per month or something like that. I did it last year to get through my remaining unread paperbacks and once I read 1 it gave me more motivation to read the rest.

Cynthia Marsh (cynthiamarshauthor) | 3 comments I'm getting through about 1 book every three weeks at the moment, but I get them from the library and never get to my cache! They are back up books that I never get to.

I also have the bad habit of having two or three books on the go at the same time, which makes it even harder to finish them

I just love long journeys and holidays when I can get some good, solid reading time in.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments You should plan more long journeys! I love travelling to see friends because I can have a few hours to read without feeling guilty for not doing something else.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments 25 books and £19.28 worth left to go

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Wow, under £20. And only 25 books - I have more than that in my back up place to store unread paperbacks!!! Daren't count the total, but if they both hve the same amount, it is about 70. Its really hard to read paperbacks when trying to play with kittens, and tried last night cos had left the kindle downstairs and they wanted cuddles and they sat on it!! I used to be a quick reader, but life is getting in the way at the moment.

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Aww, sounds adorable Desley.

And you are flying, Jud! Do you plan to start buying more books when done? Or only read free books? etc. etc.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments It was, it just felt odd doing nothing but sitting for 10 minutes. Must take Kindle upstairs tonight.

message 60: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm going to buy books again but try to read as a buy so I don't get such a huge accumulation again. I still have hundreds of unread freebies (plus DTB's) so I might make that my challenge next year :o)

I just finished another book at lunchtime there so now I'm at £18.29

Yay!

Need to get a move on with my Christie books though

message 70: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I won't have much chance this week with my mum and dad over

message 71: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments £14.33 left!

message 73: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Only £9.51 to go!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments That's fantastic, how many books does that work out at?

message 75: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Make that £8.52

message 76: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm reading War and Peace at the minute but it's HUGE! 30 kindle pages to each % and that's on the 2nd smallest font. I finished book 3 out of about 20 so I'm going to take a break and read something a bit quicker and more easy going before carrying on with it.

message 77: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments 62% through War and Peace!

message 78: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Rock on Jud! How many pages is it?

message 79: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments 83%. It's like 1400+ pages!!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments The end is in sight!

message 81: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Too right! I'm on book 13 in it so even though I'm 16 books behind technically it's only 3

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments I think that should count.

message 83: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments £6.12 left to go

message 84: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Jolly yooooooo!

message 85: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments you have encouraged me to sort my spreadsheet by price and start with the most expensive ones!

message 86: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Yay for inspiring someone!

message 87: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments :D i just figured id feel better if i read the books i paid full price for as obviously (in theory) i really wanted to read them. in reality almost all of them were bought using gift cards anyway

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Excellent. And War and Peace finished

message 89: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I know you've had your thread for ages but my goodness my OCD is going insane. You are making the place untidy! Stick a "Self Challenge:" in front of your thread title please!! (Tis in the rules after all!!!!!!!!)

message 90: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Am I meant to? I didn't know that. Is my other challenge out of line as well then?

message 91: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments does it have the self challenge bit? if not then yes.

its not a complete disaster like but my nice little baby section looks so neat when everyone does it properly. then if we ever get a group challenge we know the difference (because we are all so likely to do that - we actually should. ill have a think of what we could do and bounce some ideas of people in the next few days)

message 92: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I didn't realise I was out of line so thanks for pointing me in the right direction with your big pointy stick. I'm surprised it took you 8 months to do it.

message 93: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments ha its been bugging me for ages but i kept forgetting to say until early last week when i realised yours had nearly fallen off the view on the main page and everything looked so tidy *has got issues*

what you reading at the minute? i bet your flying through it in comparision!

message 94: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm reading Code to Zero and yes I'm about 50% through already!

message 95: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments yay! good times. youll catch up in no time. any shorts you could read?

message 96: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments No I think I read them already, I still have a load of Agatha Christies to read though and they usually only take a day or 2 so I'll hopefully catch up again.

message 97: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Fantastic :D I'm so ahead. I might even have to increase my goal this year. Unfortunately my page count is sucky though

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Lucky you Elle, I'm 8 books behind now, and 89% into the one I am reading. Trust me to pick a 400 page book when I was 5 behind and not getting a lot of time to read.

message 99: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Oops!! As long as you are enjoying reading then what does it matter anyway? :D

message 100: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments You can't beat me, I'm 18 books behind!
