Self Challenge: Jud's 2nd Challenge 2013
I'm quite a quick reader though, quicker than average but not a speed reader. You should set yourself a target to read at least 2 paperbacks per month or something like that. I did it last year to get through my remaining unread paperbacks and once I read 1 it gave me more motivation to read the rest.
I'm getting through about 1 book every three weeks at the moment, but I get them from the library and never get to my cache! They are back up books that I never get to.I also have the bad habit of having two or three books on the go at the same time, which makes it even harder to finish them
I just love long journeys and holidays when I can get some good, solid reading time in.
You should plan more long journeys! I love travelling to see friends because I can have a few hours to read without feeling guilty for not doing something else.
Wow, under £20. And only 25 books - I have more than that in my back up place to store unread paperbacks!!! Daren't count the total, but if they both hve the same amount, it is about 70. Its really hard to read paperbacks when trying to play with kittens, and tried last night cos had left the kindle downstairs and they wanted cuddles and they sat on it!! I used to be a quick reader, but life is getting in the way at the moment.
Aww, sounds adorable Desley. And you are flying, Jud! Do you plan to start buying more books when done? Or only read free books? etc. etc.
It was, it just felt odd doing nothing but sitting for 10 minutes. Must take Kindle upstairs tonight.
I'm going to buy books again but try to read as a buy so I don't get such a huge accumulation again. I still have hundreds of unread freebies (plus DTB's) so I might make that my challenge next year :o)I just finished another book at lunchtime there so now I'm at £18.29
Yay!
Need to get a move on with my Christie books though
OOoo sounds good Jud! I still need to get my paid ones down although I have less than I started with at the start of the year..
I think I've Only got a dozen paid for kindle books, Am being really goodat not buying. I've got 2 in my A-Z challenge though
I'm reading War and Peace at the minute but it's HUGE! 30 kindle pages to each % and that's on the 2nd smallest font. I finished book 3 out of about 20 so I'm going to take a break and read something a bit quicker and more easy going before carrying on with it.
:D i just figured id feel better if i read the books i paid full price for as obviously (in theory) i really wanted to read them. in reality almost all of them were bought using gift cards anyway
I know you've had your thread for ages but my goodness my OCD is going insane. You are making the place untidy! Stick a "Self Challenge:" in front of your thread title please!! (Tis in the rules after all!!!!!!!!)
does it have the self challenge bit? if not then yes.its not a complete disaster like but my nice little baby section looks so neat when everyone does it properly. then if we ever get a group challenge we know the difference (because we are all so likely to do that - we actually should. ill have a think of what we could do and bounce some ideas of people in the next few days)
I didn't realise I was out of line so thanks for pointing me in the right direction with your big pointy stick. I'm surprised it took you 8 months to do it.
ha its been bugging me for ages but i kept forgetting to say until early last week when i realised yours had nearly fallen off the view on the main page and everything looked so tidy *has got issues*what you reading at the minute? i bet your flying through it in comparision!
No I think I read them already, I still have a load of Agatha Christies to read though and they usually only take a day or 2 so I'll hopefully catch up again.
Fantastic :D I'm so ahead. I might even have to increase my goal this year. Unfortunately my page count is sucky though
Lucky you Elle, I'm 8 books behind now, and 89% into the one I am reading. Trust me to pick a 400 page book when I was 5 behind and not getting a lot of time to read.

I have a crate of unread paperbacks that I never seem to get around to but can't quite bring myself to pass them on to friends before I read them
