Dan walked into the store; it was the day that Vanessa was supposed to sing and he couldn't wait to hear her.

Vanessa was smiling through and through; she was on next. She was wearing a cute sundress and her hair was curled perfectly. She was planning on singing Rolling in the Deep by Adele, and she'd practiced so much and was so ready for it.

Dan grinned; she was up next. He was anxious to hear her beautiful voice ((xD)), and he couldn't wait to watch how she was so much better then everyone else.

Vanessa prepared herself for her song, and introduced herself. "Hey guys, I'm Vanessa Van Blake, and I will be singing Rolling in the Deep by Adele," she said. She began singing her song as the music played.

Dan cringed as she started. She was okay, but it was kinda . . . really pitchy. . . . he plastered on a fake smile and hoped it might get better.

Vanessa finished the song with a smile, and she watched as everyone hesitantly started clapping. Probably because they weren't sure if she was done. She waved and skipped off the stage to the back area, where the other performers were waiting.

Dan clapped really loudly, but because it was over. That....was...AWFUL! he said to himself and made another fake smile before checking to see if his ears were bleeding.

Vanessa stepped down the stairs and found Dan in the crowd. She waved and ran over, so happy with her performance. "What'd you think?" she asked, thinking she already knew the answer.

Vanessa sighed and listened to the rest of the singers, criticizing them very harshly on every note they hit, but she thought they missed.

Dan rolled his eyes. Here she was, criticizing the good singers when she herself had sounded like a group of dying cats falling to their deaths after falling off the Empire State Building.

Vanessa sighed when the showcase was over. "Hey, wanna go somewhere?" she asked, not being specific.

"Stop what?" Vanessa grinned. At this point, her face was inches away from Dan's, and she was still blinking like she was innocent.
