And I must add that I had not heard of the word surfeit until I started reading historicals.
Have to wonder if all the old kings' regrets at old age are anywhere near accurate. Thinking of Matilda's emperor and of course Beauclerc. But if one more king comes along and plays the woe is me card again, I just might let the dog eat this book, too!

I read Wikipedia for more on Robert Curthose..it also mentioned something about the wife possibly being murdered, but at the behest of Robert's mistress. There's a story there!
