Me too, Olivia!! Thanks, Missy!

Missy | 1485 comments I enjoyed the second season of Lidia Poet. I think it was better than the first season; the stakes were higher. In the last episode, I was worried the writers would kill off one of the main characters. I was so expecting a rom-com ending.

Do any of you have a ship for Lidia? Her former lover Jacobo or the royal prosecutor Fourneau? Because I can't choose!

Royal prosecutor? I'm liking where this is going:) Things have been hectic, so I haven't gotten to this yet, but I think this shall be my Lidia weekend coming up. And then I shall answer your very important question:)

Alright, I'm 4 episodes in so far. This is such a fabulous little show. I say ‘little’ because it pretends to be that--a mystery/case to solve each episode--but it's so much more. There is such artistic flair in its creation—from the way Lidia’s outfits set her apart like a bright spark against a dark background to the choice of storyline and even the soundtrack.

Missy, I’m going to say that Prosecutor Fourneau has my attention. He’s coming across (so far) as a wonderfully sympathetic but doomed hero. Who can resist a doomed hero? Hopefully, not Lidia;)

But the love that stands head and shoulders above the rest (and actually brought me to tears in the fourth episode) is Lidia’s relationship with her brother Enrico. Enrico’s character is absolute perfection, and both the writers and actors have seriously nailed the sibling dynamic between him and Lidia.

Two more episodes to go!

message 1156: by Missy (new)

Missy | 1485 comments I love how the writers and actors don’t shy away from allowing the male characters to get emotional and actually cry in front of other characters. Enrico’s speech made me cry. 😭 such a loving and supportive older brother!

I completely agree, Missy. I just finished the last episode . . . it's not the ending we necessarily want, but I think it's very possibly the kind of ending we need. I love, love, love the final scene with Lidia in the square. We've all been there in one way or another, feeling like that. And just the way she lifts her head to look at the camera and carry on--fabulous!

Becca Walker | 1 comments Okay so I needed to find my people to share this with because none of my friends are HR lovers and would understand.

I just realised that Samantha James had passed away in 2021, which led me on a deep dive of my favourite authors who got me into HR, I already knew we had sadly lost Johanna Lindsey but now I’ve been checking up on all my gals and Julie Garwood too 😩. I’m so sad.

There’s not much point to this post other than, I’m not okay.

Missy | 1485 comments The Lady’s Companion, coming to Netflix on March 28th.
I’m not sure which language they’re speaking but they speak pretty fast that I can barely finish reading the subtitles.

Also, this teaser for season 4 of Bridgerton is a month old, so maybe you have already watched it. In the case that some of you haven’t, here it is!

Eleanor | 30 comments What is with the high prevalence of "Ravenswood" as a noble title and Evangeline as a female name in HR?? I already start getting all my dukes and series confused after I've read a bunch in a row :P

I'm just seeing this post now, Missy! Thanks! The leading man in The Lady's Companion looks really familiar to me, and I just figured it out: the same actor stars in another Spanish romance on Netflix called A Perfect Story (that one is contemporary though). Still, I ended up watching the whole thing:)

Hello, dear readers ;)

I've lost my Z-library account, and I can't talk to support in the site, does any of you know how can get in contact with someone from the site? I've already tried the email support@z-lib.se, but it comes back as "Message not delivered"

Thanks,
Sandra

Jan (jan130) | 2701 comments On Australian TV, they are currently showing a 3 part mini series doco about Jane Austen's life and her influence on writing in general. Very interesting. Jane Austen: Rise of a Genius.

(BTW, the series has also had Shakespeare: Rise of a Genius, and Mozart: Rise of Genius. Both brilliant series, especially the Mozart one).

yes, pls, each ones, Lauren? 😉

message 1181: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1425 comments lol. I mainly use openlibary and libgens.is/library genesis. Strangely, I find a lot of free books just by googling the title, author and free online. I've been able to read so many books that I wouldn't have otherwise. Unfortunately, some are better than others (ads), and it all depends on where you live.

Does that help?

Missy | 1485 comments Lovelies!!! If you’re a fan of Julie Anne Long’s Pennyroyal Green series, then she has finally published the love story (prequel novella) between Isaiah and Isolde (& James?)!

According to the author on her Facebook, it's Part One, but there's no cliffhanger, and it should be read in tandem with the first book in the series (preferably after a few books) for context.
