Her bio it's not updated in Goodreads :(

message 1006: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1425 comments I keep hoping they'll find a book she completed before her death. I know I'm so selfish, but I'm mourning.

GR authors are responsible for updating their bios. As a regular librarian, I am not able to do it. I wonder if a Superlibrarian could? Perhaps one of the PTB at GR could do it. I will ask in the help system.

Hi, dear readers, do you know that Z-Library in on again?!

message 1010: by Missy (new)

Missy | 1485 comments Oh, good! Now I can stop reading taboo/forbidden romances in Kindle Unlimited. I fear my sisters might stumble upon my reading options and ask questions. 😅

message 1011: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1425 comments WOW!!!!!! Are you sure z library is back? I'm so excited! I'll have to see if it's available in the the States. Thanks for letting me know, Sandra! I could kiss you!

Missy | 1485 comments @Lauren, the site is back in the States but I think we would have to create an account and sign in to download. Not sure if I want to do that. 😬😬😬

So exciting! All I can say is I hope they don't ruin Penelope and Colin's story, lol!

message 1015: by Missy (new)

Missy | 1485 comments There are some hints that something scandalous occurs in a carriage. 🤭🤭🤭 It may be time for a reread! Because I certainly don't recall very much from the book.

message 1016: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1425 comments signing up isn't my preferred method:(

Missy | 1485 comments A comedy movie trailer that I just saw last night. Didn't realize it already came out in 2021 until just now. 😅

Lady of the Manor. https://youtu.be/Hjh92f8Faxs

Past and present collide when slacker Hannah gets hired to portray Lady Wadsworth -- a Southern belle from the 1800s -- for tours at Wadsworth Manor. Hannah figures she can fake it well enough, until the ghost of Lady Wadsworth appears and tells her it's time to change her wild ways -- or she'll haunt her forever.

Susan in Perthshire (susanageofaquarius) | 109 comments Not quite sure what the quiz was trying to achieve. There were some really weird choices which didn’t appeal to me at all. But it was funny in places.

message 1030: by Debby *BabyDee* (new)

Debby *BabyDee* | 812 comments Funny and the choices were uhhhh weird but in all fun for this exercise I ended up with "The Scot"😊

message 1032: by Missy (last edited Aug 04, 2023 07:09PM) (new)

Missy | 1485 comments I agree. Some options reminded me more of contemporary heroes characteristics than historical ones.

message 1033: by Mariana (new)

Mariana | 2692 comments Thanks for sharing. There were some options that definitely reminded me more of contemporary heroes, but I have also read some HR that feels like modern people in a historical backdrop.

My result was The Good Guy, which is spot on.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1240 comments Very interesting Missy.
It’s a shame that the cover don’t represent the fashion for the year of the story. And the H and h description.
So many cover seem to look the same.

message 1039: by Jenna (new)

Jenna | 217 comments very interesting. and i hadn't seen that last book which featured asian characters in a historical period. cool!
i can also see both sides of the argument-appealing to the masses to sell books but also trying to keep some sort of representation of the characters/historical period.
i will say that a woman who used to be in a bookgroup w/me, she & i both enjoyed historical romances. but as she studied fashion & history (so was more knowledgeable than me), it would upset her when the cover pic didn't accurately reflect the story.

Missy | 1485 comments Bridgerton (season 3) is returning to Netflix in 2024, with the third season of the period drama waltzing onto streaming in two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on May 16, and the next four will be available to stream on June 13.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1240 comments Waited a while for this one.
I don’t think they should have revealed Whistledown identity till Penelope’s story.
