15 Books to Read After Watching the 'Downton Abbey' Movie

Thanks for sharing, Sandra. I have read a couple of them: Belgravia, which I enjoyed (also enjoyed the TV series of the same name). I did not enjoy the American Heiress as much, although it was an interesting time period. The version I read was called My Last Duchess, based on the rather sad life of Consuelo Vanderbilt. I might have a look at a couple of the other recs from the list.

Lauren | 1425 comments I know, I'm soo disappointed! RIP Z library. :(

Yes!!! :(
Do you know some site similar to Z-Library?

message 906: by Oleander (new)

Oleander | 271 comments I never used z library but I use Open Library. It has most of the older romance books that I look for. I also just started using BooksVooks. The last two books I wanted (not historical) have been on there. I haven't looked at their HR titles yet. Both sites are free. Open Library asks you for donations and I have given them a little because I appreciate the site.

message 907: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1425 comments @Sandra, library genesis has some of the books. I hope this site doesn't go down too! Still, it's not as good as z library. :(

@Oleander, I love openlibary but z library had a wider selection of older books and newer books.

Thanks, Oleander and Lauren, I will try them. I've also gave some donations to Z-Library, that was the least I can do, I've downloaded some many books... :)

I've find this video and loved it! It's about our well-known HR (absolutely wrong) covers. I hope you also enjoy it!

I will post this also in our HR Covers tread :)

Lauren, one of them it's a "google" to find where the books are available, for the book I was looking didn't work, but it seems very practical.

message 918: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1425 comments Thank God for Google ;) Thanks to most of those sites I haven't paid for a book in months.

Mamacita aka MawMaw (mamawantsbedtimestory) | 417 comments Hey ya'll. I need some help because I can't think of the name of the book . I thought that there was a thread for this but I couldn't find it. Anyhoo, I just found this book on GR, then I lost it by closing the tab like an idiot before I could add it to my shelves.

So in this book the Heroine has like 12 children. I don't know if they're her children or if they're orphan she takes care of or what. Anyway she goes for one last ditch better fun and meets the hero. Then he has to go all about letting her know that there is no obstacle big enough for him to not want her. I think he might have four children too. But I don't know about that.

One of the reviews said it reminded her of The Brady Bunch and listed the actual show tunes song in her reviews and it was so funny. It reminded me of Cheaper by the Dozen movie with Steve Martin.

But my husband called me away from the phone and that's how that all the above mess happened of me closing out the damn tab.

So does anybody have a clue what book this is?

message 920: by Oleander (new)

Oleander | 271 comments I don't know the book but GR has a list of HR with kids in plot that might help you narrow it down https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

message 921: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1425 comments @Mamacita, could it be Three Weeks To Wed by Ella Quin?

Nope. Gah I wish I could find it.

I looked through there and I don't think it's been added to that list either

Missy | 1485 comments @MawMaw, did you read the review on a web browser (instead of the app)? If you did, then perhaps the page will appear in your history?

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1240 comments That sounds like it might be good. I am fed up with the same HR books being made over and over again. It’s probably why the Bridgertons done so well. Because it’s new.

Merry (jewelhound) | 857 comments Missy I am looking forward to this series. I have only read the first book in it really liked it. Reid can be hit or miss for me.

No I actually read it on my kindle in GR, which I never do. Also I use desktop on my phone & have tons of tabs open do that would be a hard thing to find also. But I would have searched the hell out of that way anyways. Lol

So cool! I wish they would do the Lisa Kleypas Wallflowers or one of her other series too. How fun would that be.

Oleander | 271 comments I'm very happy to hear this about the future tv series. I'm so tired of all the dark stuff tv shows full of melodrama misery. Looking forward to some sinful wallflowers. 🌻📺😊

Thanks for sharing Missy! I haven’t read those books, but I did enjoy the ones I did read by Reid. I think I will try to listen to them. I’m guessing I will be less attached to how they pull it off since I haven’t read it.
