A well on the top of a tall hill.

message 2: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments Ava sat on the edge of the well looking out over the town she could see at the bottom of the hill. She liked it up there, it was quiet. She smoothed out her dress, it wasn't he first time that she had come up here and anyone who payed attention would know where she went. It was a good thing that no one in the castle payed attention. They were all caught up in their own lives.

Linda was walking around at the bottom of the hill when she saw the oldest Chrysandre princess sitting on a well. Was Linda about to let that kid fall in the well? Heck no! Linda ran up the hill, exclaiming, "Hey! Get down from there!" she grabbed Ava by her arms, trying to pull her off the well.

Audie Murphy | 61 comments Ava slid off of the wall easily and pulled her wrists away from the lady who she recognized as the reporter for Chrysandre. "What was that for?" she asked. Ava didn't look as relaxed now. Her posture was back to being a perfect princess. She didn't exactly like reporters, she never knew what to say around them, they would always twist the royal's words into the perfect story.

"What, do you want to fall in there?" Linda asked, putting her hands on her hips. "No way is the oldest Chrysandre princess falling into a well while I'm around! But qwhile were talking, I've got a few questions..." Linda pulled her notebook out of her purse.

Audie Murphy | 61 comments Ava was about to reply when the reporter pulled out a notebook. She suppressed a sigh and put on an inviting smile. She knew that if you tried to deny something a bigger story could occur, "What would you like to know?" she asked in a quiet voice. She had only spoken to reporters on a few occasions, she usually didn't let herself be caught by them.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

"Oh, don't be so negative." Linda grinned mischievously as she pulled a pencil out of her purse, too. "So, what's been happening with your family recently? Anything dramatic?" Linda very much hoped there was something dramatic going on so she could write about it.

message 8: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments Ava looked at the ground, watching the breeze move the skirt of her dress. Even if there was any drama going on, it was very unlikely that she would tell the reporter. Ava looked back up at the reporter, "Well we've been getting ready for this month's ball," she said with a smile though inside she was cursing herself for getting in this situation though the reporter seemed to be enjoying herself.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Linda continued to grin in that way she did, the way that made you suspicious she had some kind of ulterior motive. "Any idea who's invited?" she asked. "Besides the royal families, of course." Linda was hoping (dying, really) that she would be invited to the ball. Th queens usually chose one of the other Chrysandre reporters, though. Linda was too 'nosy'.

message 10: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments Ava still had a smile on her face though anyone who knew her would be able to tell that it was fake. "I know as much as you," her voice was perky, a persona she only took up around reporters. She would never act like that around royals. Ava kept that act up as she spoke again, "I hear that there will be some extravagant dresses this month, so you'll have that to look forward to," Ava had no idea what people were going to wear she was completely making this up as she was going and she was running out of ideas.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

"Oh, everyone will look forward to that, honey." Linda said, jotting it down, and adding a few extra sentences that made Ava look like her vocabulary was abnormally high. "So what about your siblings? How are they?"

message 12: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments Ava's face fell a little as she mentioned her siblings, this would be an interesting story. Her siblings would kill her if anything bad about them was said. "Well we've all been keeping busy with," there was a tiny pause there, barely detectable but enough to know that she was nervous and trying to come up with words, "school work." She was mentally punching herself but she had no idea what to say without giving away half of the kingdom's secrets about the affairs going on.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

"All of you are extremely studious? Who is you and your siblings' role model, anyway? I know the whole kingdom is dying to know. One of the past rulers?" Linda asked, still writing. She was making Ava sound as though she was much older than she really was.

message 14: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments "No, my younger siblings prefer games, but that's mostly the age they are at," She didn't really mention her twin, she knew any news about the two of them spread like wildfire. "Well I can't speak for my siblings but a person I admire is Queen Lorrina of Faedler," she didn't know why Linda wanted this information, it didn't seem of any importance to Ava.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

"Great!" Linda said, jotting it down. "If you ever become a queen, which kingdom would you want to rule? Why? What do you think you would do as a ruler?" She would ask every question she possibly could. Linda always had endless questions to ask.

message 16: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments "Hmm," it wasn't as though she hadn't thought of this question before. It's the topic that she spent the most time on. "I would have to say Chrysandre, it has so much rich history. I just want to try and make peace." Ava knew how much her words could be twisted from this little engagement and she would probably have to do some explaining to her family.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Linda nodded quickly, writing as fast as she could. "Yes, lots of rich history. What kingdoms do you think your sisters would be best suited for?" She asked. She was definitely going to write it so that it sounded like Ava didn't like one of her sisters.

message 18: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments ((Okay, I'm making up names now))

"Well Adelaide is definitely suited for Peridot," She thought about her other sister they were both to young to think about where they should rule, "Claire could rule anywhere really, she has a kind enough temperament." Ava looked at the notebook but she couldn't see what she was writing, but her hand was writing at the speed of light and Ava hadn't said that much.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

((Lol!))
"Good, good." Linda said, eyes still on the paper. "And how do your brothers feel about this? Never getting to be the ones in charge? Are they jealous? Angry? Happy? Don't care at all?" She would probably make one of them sound jealous no matter what Ava said.

message 20: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments Ava was slightly loosing her perky persona, she was reverting to her normal quiet personality. "Um, Carter is to young to care at all, and Julian doesn't want to rule anything," she gets quieter as she mentions her twin, "I mean Asher doesn't care," of course he cared, his twin sister got something that he didn't and he had mentioned it multiple times to Ava.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

"Mm-hm, very interesting. Well, I think that's enough to post as an interview in the newspaper. Thanks a lot!" Linda flashed a quick grin before turning around and beginning to walk away, still writing. Yes, this would definitely be in the newspaper.

message 22: by Audie Murphy (new)

Audie Murphy | 61 comments Ava slumped against the well. She knew that interview had gone horribly. She would definitely hear about this as soon as it hit the papers. As soon as the reporter was out of sight she began her journey home.
