He is in love with Henna obviously it is a one sided thing

Jared is his best friend and looks like he has super powers

I'm glad that he is able to voice out his love for Henna
I don't like the kind of parents he has

The mother is obsessed with politics and the dad is an alcoholic, he never is around for his kids

Nathan is gay and Jared (that was a shocker, both dating)
The aftermath of the concert
Mikey talking to a therapist

And the Satchel (indie kids drama) stuff gets tied to Mikey and his friends in the end

Mikey's dad going to rehab and the mother started being more of a mother than a politician

They blew up the high school actually

I love this book but it is a stupid book
It's all about living in a not too safe environment but it is okay because you are not the target

Chapters 1-6
(view spoiler)[ I’m not quite sure what to think of this book. Basically just meeting and learning about characters...Mikey and his sisters. Jared, a friend of theirs and Mikey’s coworker. henna who Mikey says he’s in love with. He did declare this love before they were in a car accident involving a deer - so really no response there.

Now. I’m confused as to why many of these kids have the same name (seems Finn mostly). Also totally non chalant talks about zombies and vampires? Hmmm I don’t mind listening to it, but it’s kinda weird. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10
(view spoiler)[ something is definitely going on. With people dying, the indie kids leaving and then coming back but saying nothing, the random zombie deer, the cops that came up to Mikey and Henna saying they weren't the ones they were looking for....with blue eyes! I'm also kind of finding myself a little curious about Nathan....? Meredith is the absolute cutest, but she is rightfully worried about what is going on and what will happen. Then on the sideline you have their mother running for office acting almost as though nothing has really happened. I'm really liking Jared as a character and his father as well. My heart goes out to Henna and how she is being swept away from everything that she knows after she graduates. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ SHES NOT GOING TO AFRICA! lol Just had to do a little happy dance here or something! I feel as though he may be losing Jared, but now he has Henna. At least they were able to sort out where their relationship stood.
Taking a step back here Nathan being gay and Jared being into him was kind of a random, but not much changed I didn't really feel that connected to Nathan as a character.
I'm still kinda wishy washy on how I feel about this book. It was easy to listen to and I enjoyed getting to know everyone, but I don't know that it would really be one I'd recommend to my reader friends. (hide spoiler)]

Serious - can I super love this comment? lol
I'm kind of walking away with a 'what did I just listen to' state of mind, but at the same time I also rather enjoyed the characters and their little dramas.
