Zach nodded slightly," alright well if you need to talk or anything I'll be making dinner." He said softly moving away to go into the kitchen, but not before he gave Lucas a reassuring hug. There was so much that was going through Zach's mind that before he completely left he turned and said," I'm not going to leave you for her... I've already made that mistake with her and I'm not going to do it again."

~Later~

Lucas sighed and rubbed a hand through his hair, turning his eyes to the kitchen floor. He slipped out of the kitchen and went to find Isaiah. Lucas found the little boy playing on the living room floor with a few different toys. "Hey, buddy," he said, sitting on the floor beside him.

Zach glanced behind him as Lucas left the kitchen. He sighed a little bit knowing he shouldn't have kept the fact that Isaiah's mom could come around. He was just living in a dream world where he didn't think that Leah would come around again.
Isaiah looked up as Lucas sat down beside him, "hi woote!" he said happily

Lucas smiled widely at the little boy and crossed his legs. "What are you playing?" he asked him. Lucas was often astounded by what Isaiah came up when playing with his toys. He often thought it was a shame a good majority of kids lost that creativity as they got older. Lucas knew as a fact that he didn't have a creative bone in his body any longer.

Isaiah smiled. "I playin tars." He stated. He then launched into a long story about how the cars could fly and they were in space and how they were fighting a bad car to make his stay away from their favorite spot. Isaiah had a great imagination, but oftentimes he had a hard time explaining what he meant. He was a pretty smart kid just sometimes he stuttered when he got excited or scared. This was one of the times he was excited, even though Lucas often stayed for dinner and long after Isaiah had gone to bed. He was still happy Lucas was around, He knew that his dad was always happier and more willing to say yes to something if Lucas was around.

Key hesitated before nodding. She was one of the few people that knew he played and she loved it when he did. Key peeled herself away from Kingston so he could go get his guitar. Keyleigh sniffled and pushed her hair from her eyes as she watched him go to retrieve his instrument. This is why she was thankful Kingston was her friend. He hardly asked her questions about things that happened at home and didn't pressure her to answer those questions when he did ask them.

Zach had heard the two of them and after he was finished making their dinner he walked over to the play room and watched them together before softly saying, "Hey you two it's time to eat."
Kingston nodded a little bit and waited until she had let him go before moving away from her to get his guitar. "Think about what you want me to play for you." he said softly as he gently wiped a few tears from her cheek before leaving the game room. He went into his room and grabbed his guitar before heading back into the game room. He just wanted to see Key smile again. It killed him when she was so upset and he couldn't do anything to make her happy again. He walked back into the room and sat down beside her. "Did you think of anything yet?"

Key looked up when Kingston came in. She didn't remember what songs he could play for her so she had decided to let him choose. "I don't care. Play what you want," she answered, her voice thick from crying. Key curled up in the corner of the couch and stared down at her knees. She would go crazy if Kingston wasn't there. Keyleigh glanced up to make sure Kingston's parents weren't coming down. She didn't want them to see her like that. Rarely did Kingston see her like that and his parents saw her like that even less.

Kingston nodded a little bit as he sat down next to her and set his guitar in his lap. "Okay then." he replied trying to think of a song to play for her. He was still worried about her but the fact that she had let him go and was now sort of herself, even if that meant she wasn't talking to him and just staring ahead like she wished she could disappear. He sighed softly and began moving his fingers across the strings playing something soft and slow.

~Later~

Lucas nodded as he pulled his chair closer to the table. "Yeah. I don't have a morning shift today so I don't have to worry about that," he said, giving Zach a slight smile. Lucas picked up his fork and began to eat. He ate his food in silence, something he did most of the time anyways. It wasn't uncommon for him to think as he ate, whether the subject was important or not.

Zach nodded slightly as he put food in front of Isaiah. " Alright I was just making sure." he answered smiling back a little. He was like Lucas in the fact that he often didn't talk much while he was eating. Isaiah was busy eating like he had never seen food before, but that was pretty normal for him. Zach's mind wandered to the fact that Leah had found Isaiah and had seen Lucas. He could almost picture the look on her face when Lucas opened the door. Of course, at first Zach had been a little cautious at leaving Isaiah with Lucas, but soon got over at Lucas had proved himself very capable of watching Isaiah.

Key pulled her knees to her chest as she sat and listened to Kingston play. She wanted to tell him everything but she knew if she did, life would become even worse. Key would end up in foster care and would never see Kingston anymore. She would lose the stable-ish home that she had and she'd rather live with her father than worry about what her next foster family was going to be like.

Kingston continued to just play hoping that sometime Key would talk to him even if it wasn't about what had upset her. He knew from being around her for so long that he wasn't going to get the answers he wanted if he pushed her to talk to him she would talk when she was ready to talk. After a little while he looked over at her and said, "Can you stay tonight?" He asked, "We can have a movie night."

Kingston smiled a little bit as she finally agreed to have a movie night. He just continued to play for her and just waited until she spoke. He had a feeling that she was debating on what to say or something. As soon as she said something about her father, Kingston stopped playing. "He what?" he asked softly putting his guitar aside and looking down at his best friend.

((Do we want to skip to their date?))

Lucas found himself nervous as he pulled into Zach's driveway, wiping his palms on his pants. He was nervous but excited and giddy. Lucas felt like a child about to get a new toy. He smiled and took a deep breath as he got out of his car, walking up the steps to the door. Lucas knocked. He didn't know what they would be doing that evening but he didn't really care. All he cared about was spending some time with Zach.
((Sorry they're short.))

Zach had been coming down the stairs with Isaiah in his arms when Lucas knocked on the door. He glanced out the window and smiled seeing it was Lucas. He opened the door, "Hey, I'm just waiting on the babysitter." he said moving so that Lucas could come in. Isaiah looked at him and grinned, "Woot you here!! You pay wif me?" he asked. Zach shook his head a little bit, "He's not here to play with you tonight Saiah." he explained softly, " Megan is coming over to watch you instead."

Lucas smiled at both Zach and Isaiah and went inside. "No, buddy. Not tonight. But, I'm gonna play with you tomorrow, alright?" he asked the little boy, ruffling his hair. He didn't like seeing Isaiah unhappy but he couldn't help it, Lucas was practically desperate to spend some time alone with Zach and actually get to know him. Lucas stuffed his hands into his pockets as he waited, shuffling around the area.

Isaiah frowned a little bit, "But I want you to pway." he said looking at Lucas and then at Zach. Zach smiled a little bit looking over his son's head at Lucas. "Go on and play in the playroom for a little bit. Before Megan gets here to watch you and make dinner for you." He told his small son. Isaiah sighed and nodded as he was put down and walked off to the playroom even though he was upset. Zach shook his head a little bit and sighed softly, "he has not been in a very good mood today." he said softly as he looked back over at Lucas.

Key shook her head, vehemently opposing the suggestion that they tell anyone. She knew what would happen and it wouldn't be pretty. She trusted with Kingston with all her heart, that's why she had told him. But, this was the one thing she was wary about telling him. Would he tell someone after she had left and gone home or somewhere else? Or would he actually listen to her and not tell anyone unless she said he could? "I don't want to lose you, Kingston. If we tell someone, they'll tell the police and then I probably won't be able to see you anymore," she whispered, staring down at the design on his shirt. That's what she absolutely terrified of. Losing Kingston and being out in a home worse than the one she was in already.

Lucas smiled softly at Isaiah as he ran away to his playroom. He moved close and kissed Zach's cheek. "I think you should know more than everyone you can't always make him happy," he said softly but reassuringly. "Besides, I'll be back Monday and he'll be just fine," Lucas told Zach and smiled at him. He took his hand and spoke again in an attempt to lighten his mood. "So," he started. "What are we doing tonight?" Lucas asked him. He was actually quite excited for their evening together.

Kingston frowned a little bit as he looked at her, "Key we have to do something." he said softly. He sighed a little bit as she explained why she didn't want him to say anything. "Okay fine we don't have to say anything, but I think you should. We can figure out how to get you to stay here, but you can't go back to your house. I don't want you to go through that anymore." he commented really just wanting her to stay with him so he could some how figure out how to get her permanently out of her house.

Zach smiled a little bit and nodded slightly," Yeah I know, but it doesn't make it easier when he's upset." he replied looking over at Lucas. "This is true. He will be alright in a little bit when Megan gets here." Zach smiled a little bit as he moved his fingers through his. "That Lucas is only for me to know." he answered only slightly teasing. If Lucas really wanted to know then Zach would tell him.

Key pulled away and looked down at the floor. She didn't know what to do now that she had told Kingston. Should she just not go home? Should she tell the police, his dad, someone, what was happening? "I don't know," she whispered as she looked down, almost in defeat, at her hands. It was all too much. "I don't know, Kingston," Key said again, panic tinging her voice. There seemed, to her, like there was too much at play to make a decision.

Lucas stuck his tongue out at him and rolled his eyes playfully. "Fine. Be like that. I didn't want to know anyways," he teased, glad that Zach was smiling. He smiled at him. Lucas moved closer as he tangled his fingers with his and sweetly kissed his cheek. He lingered as he stood close to Zach, wanting to relish this moment when they could just be a couple before the babysitter came around to interrupt the moment.

Kingston sighed a little bit as she told him she didn't know what to do. "I don't either." he said softly letting her pull away from him a little bit. "I think we should at least tell my dad. He will have an idea of what to do." he said softly still trying to figure out what to do with everything Key had told him. He didn't want her to leave his sight ever again. But then he also just didn't want her to get hurt any more and after everything he was kind of surprised that she had trusted him with everything she did trust him with.

Zach grinned at him a little bit, "Ohh whatever.. I'm sure you actually do want to know." he answered. He glanced over at him as he moved closer to Zach. "Well it's a good thing we don't have to worry about being late." he muttered, but he was still smiling a little bit as he looked at Lucas. He was happy that they were finally able to go out just them.
