Tink and Who Cares

Kingston nodded slightly," alright then." He replied," I'll just take a shower when you are done." He said getting up then reaching down to help Key up too. "You know where everything is." He called as she walked away and to the house as he trailed slightly slower behind her

Key nodded and gathered her things before taking it all to the bathroom. She took a quick shower, rinsing out her hair and washing herself off. Key put on her clothes and went back downstairs. She grabbed her phone from off the kitchen table and dialed her father's number, waiting for him to answer the phone.

Kingston watched as she walked into the bathroom. He sighed softly and went to make them a snack as she took her shower. He turned on the tv and then went to eat his snack before hearing the shower turn off. Kingston looked at her as she walked back out of the bathroom before going up to his own room and grabbing some clothes

Finally, Key's Dad picked up. "Hello." a slurred voice answered. Key knew tonight wasn't going to be good. "Hey, Dad. It's me when do you want me home?" Key asked him warily. Her dad got mean and unsightly when he was drunk, and from just his voice it was clear he was. "Never, you stupid girl. We don't want you!" her dad cried into the phone. Key hung up quickly and took deep breaths as she tried to stop herself from crying. Why couldn't her family be a normal family like Kingston's? At least she had Kingston and his family. They were all so nice to her when she really did nothing to deserve it.

Kingston took a quick shower and got dressed not wanting Key to be waiting around for him if she needed to go home. He sighed softly as he dried his hair a little bit and then walked downstairs. He often told Key that she should just move into his house so she would stay away from her parents but that never really worked. Kingston walked into the kitchen to see Key," Are you alright?" He asked softly walking over to her

Key heard Kingston coming and quickly tried to compose herself. She couldn't dump all her problems on him. That's why she continually refused to move in with him and his family. It wasn't that she didn't love them, she just didn't want to become a freeloader. "Yeah, I'm alright." she answered him. Key adored everyone in his family and didn't want them to come to hate her because she was always around them.

Kingston walked up behind her," Are you sure?" He asked now standing beside her. "I mean you look upset Key." He said softly slipping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her close to his side. He didn't know how to help her if she didn't tell him what was wrong or even tell him the truth when he could tell she was upset

"Zach.. Do we want to try it? Try being an actual couple?" Lucas asked, so incredibly nervous. He wanted to be something with him. Lucas was in love with Zach, there was no denying that. Not on his side anyways.

Zach looked at Lucas for a second before nodding slightly," I would like to try it." He replied softly. Something about making everything all official and stuff made Zach slightly nervous. But it was nothing he wouldn't get over after a bit not when he really liked and maybe even loved Lucas.

Key chewed her lip as she debated on whether or not to tell Kingston. She probably should considering he always found out anyways. Plus, the fact that something was wrong was obvious when one started to cry. Key sniffled and rubbed her wet eyes. "When I called Dad he was drunk again and told me he didn't want me," she whispered. Key didn't know why she was hurt by her father's actions anymore. He did stuff like that all the time.

Kingston watched her for a little bit waiting for Key to say something so he would know whether or not to drop the subject. Kingston frowned as she finally told him what was bothering her. "Key." he said softly going to hug her, "You shouldn't let what he says bother you." He told her softly, "I just don't understand why you still live there..." He commented, "Please just stay with me tonight and then I'll take you home tomorrow."

Key welcomed his embrace and hid her face in her best friend's chest. She didn't know why she still lived there either but she supposed it was from the fear that her dad would try to hurt Kingston and his family if she stayed with them. "Okay... But only tonight," she told him, lifting her face to look up at him.

Kingston held her tightly and nodded a little bit," Fine just for tonight then we will see what tomorrow brings." He told her still trying to come up with a way for her to stay with him longer so he wouldn't have to worry about her when she went home. He didn't know everything that happened while she was at home and he was hoping that one day Key would trust him enough to tell him everything.
((I would like to continue the first one we started. I can't find the wolf one anymore))

Key gave a halfhearted nod and closed her eyes. She wanted to tell Kingston but the fear of being taken away from her father and ultimately losing the only parent she had scared her, even if her dad was a drunksrd and didn't normally give two shits about her.

Kingston sighed softly as he looked down at her. "How about we go change into something comfortable and watch a movie." He suggested softly. He felt like she didn't want to talk anymore and he wasn't about to push her into talking anyways

Key nodded. "Alright," she agreed softly. She took his hand, something she rarely did except for when she wanted comfort, and went with him upstairs so that they could both change. "When are your parents coming home?" Key asked Kingston, looking over at him.

Kingston smiled a little bit at her as he got up. His smile lessened a little bit as he felt her fingers slide between his. That meant she was really upset and he didn't know how else to help her. Instead of saying anything he just squeezed her hand softly and then shrugged in answer to her question," I have no idea when they are coming home."

"Oh, I just don't want your parents to be upset I stayed," Key said, still unsure if his parents would be okay with her stating at their house. Key wasn't even sure why she was so insecure about it. Then again, she was insecure of nearly everything. Key let go of his hand and went into the spare bedroom to get herself some sweats.

Leah walked to the front door of Zach's house hoping that this was the correct address this time. She had spent the last two years trying to track down Zach and Isaiah. She rang the bell and waited
Kingston looked back at her for a second," Are you serious?" He asked," My parents love it when you are over." He replied," besides I told you earlier you keep me out of serious trouble since you are my voice of reason according to my parents." He told her shrugging a little bit," I'll meet you in the game room?" He called as he walked into his own room to change

Key nodded and closed the door. She grabbed a pair of her sweats, set aside in a chest of drawers his parents kept specifically for her. Key sighed and brushed her hair, getting all the tangles out. After a few more minutes of preening, she went down to the game room. Or the den, as she called it.

Kingston changed quickly after hopping in the shower. He knew Key long enough that he knew he could take a quick shower and still beat her to the game room not that he was really racing her at all. He walked into the room after getting dressed and flopped onto the couch to wait for her flipping the tv on

Key went into the den and sat down beside Kingston, tucking her legs beneath her. "What are we gonna watch?" she asked, looking over at him as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Key looked over at the tv and made a face at what was on. She wasn't a fan of trucking shows.

Isaiah turned slightly and looked at Leah for a second causing her to smile a little at him. While Isaiah mostly looked like Zach there was no denying at that time Leah and Isaiah were related also
Kingston shrugged a little bit," I have no idea and I won't stay on this channel." He told her knowing she hated watching trucking shows. He liked to sometimes if he was in the right mood but right then he wasn't. "We could watch an old cartoon or something."

Key giggled softly. "Thank you," she said the turned her attention to the screen. Kingston was such a good friend to her and she would hate it if she ever lost him. As they watched, Key slowly fell asleep against Kingston.

Kingston smiled a little bit," you're very welcome." He replied starting the show. He leaned back a little bit on the couch and pulled Key with him. He sighed softly after a few shows seeing that she was sleeping he had no intention of waking her up so he just sat there and eventually fell asleep with her

Key slept until evening and woke to Kingston's parents calling out his name. They were home apparently. Key rubbed her eyes and yawned as they came down the stairs. "Kingston... Your parents are home," she mumbled, shaking him slightly but still drowsy from sleep.
Nick and Joan went down the stairs, trying to locate their son. When they saw Kingston and Key sleeping, they smiled. "Hi, Keyleigh. How are you, sweetie?" Joan asked her, sitting on the edge of the couch.

Kingston groaned softly as she shook him not even hearing his parents come back home or call his name. "What is it?" He grumbled only to hear his mother's voice as he opened his eyes. "Hi mom, dad." He said sort of sitting up but still having his arm around Key's shoulders.
Nick smiled slightly seeing his son with his best friend," Did you have a nice night?" He asked
Kingston nodded slightly," yeah we went to the pool and then came back here to watch a movie but we didn't make it all that long." He replied

Key sat up and gave Joan a slight smile. "I'm okay. How are you?" she asked her. Joan was basically her mother, considering her own was nowhere to be found and Nick often played the good dad role in her life.
Joan smiled and patted her knee. "I'm alright," she replied to Key and then looked over at her son. "Sounds like fun," Joan commented, looking back at Key.

Kingston nodded," Of course it was fun.. It did not include having to study or look at a book." He answered grinning a little bit. Nick rolled his eyes," but you need to be in school son."
"Yeah yeah I know I do." Kingston replied. He loved his parents and the fact that they didn't think it was weird for him to have a best friend that was a girl. They just went with it and accepted Key into their family as if she had been born to them instead of just adopted by them in their own special way. Nick looked at Key," Has he been much trouble for you?" He asked slightly teasing and slightly serious

Key smiled and tugged a hand through her hair. Everyday she wished she had parents like Joan and Nick but she had drawn the short stick and ended with a no-show mother and a drunkard father who couldn't care more. Key looked over at Nick and shook her head. "Nope. Not today anyways," she answered.

Nick chuckled softly," Well that's a good thing." He replied looking at Kingston," we wouldn't want to cause any trouble right?" Kingston rolled his eyes," I don't cause trouble, trouble finds me and trips me up." He answered looking back at Key with a grin

Key smiled softly and then looked down at the floor. She let Kingston talk with his parents as she picked at the nail polish on her nails. Key did it more often than her father wanted for some reason which only gave him another reason to yell at her.

Kingston talked with his dad for a little while longer before glancing at Key for a second. He knew she only picked at her nail polish when she was nervous or something was on her mind. There was plenty of times he wished she would just let him help her more often

Key listened to Kingston talk with his parents before they went back upstairs. She looked over at Kingston and gave him a soft smile. "I adore your parents," she said. Key knew that he knew that but she liked to say it. And it was true, Key loved his parents.

Kingston laughed and nodded a little bit," I know you do." He replied," and they love you too." He told her hugging her a little bit. "So are we eating dinner here with my parents or did you want to go out and get something?" He asked

Key gave him a squeeze back and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't mind where we eat. If you want to stay here, that's fine," she told him, looking up at him. "Do you know what your parents are making for dinner?" Key asked Kingston.

Kingston nodded a little bit," Okay well I have no idea what mom is making probably enough food to feed an army but that's fine." He answered looking at Key," We can just stay here, then we don't have to change into anything nicer than this."

Key giggled and nodded. "I'm not up for changing anyways," she said to him, smiling up at him. Being around Kingston always made her feel better and that's a reason why she was always around him. Her bestfriend was really the only that cared and she often felt like she needed some of that caring attention.

Kingston grinned, "I was hoping you would say that." he replied, "I didn't want to change either." Key was always someone who kept Kingston from being too much of a stupid person. She was level-headed and kept him out of trouble. That and he just liked being with her so that's why they were always together.

Keyleigh smiled slightly and curled up in the corner of the couch, tucking her legs under her. She picked at her nail polish, saying nothing. Key sighed and chewed on her lip, hoping that her father wouldn't remember what he had said when she tried to go home or would be sorry he had said that. Although, she was almost sure that wasn't going to happen.

Key gave him a grateful smile and rested her head on his shoulder. "Thank you, Kingston." she said to him. Key stayed there for a moment longer before getting up. "I'm gonna shower and change real quick." she told Kingston before disappearing upstairs and to the guest bedroom.
