Zach looked at him and nodded a little bit," Okay as long as you weren't really sleeping."

"I wasn't. It's too late in the day for me to sleep." Lucas said, running his free hand through his hair then adjusting his other arm in his sling.
"Okay well he didn't like jump on you are anything?" He asked," although I didn't hear you yell so I'm Hoping not."
Lucas shook his head. "No. He just came to the side of the bed and patted my head." he said with a soft chuckle and an amused look.
Zach smiled," Good job Isaiah." He said. Isaiah turned," Look look at what I made you." He said excitedly. He had a bowl next to him that he was putting different colored chocolate chips on a still warm brownie
Lucas looked over at Isaiah and smiled. "That's dry nice, buddy. Thank you." he said, going over and ruffling his hair affectionately.
Isaiah beamed at him. "Daddy say we can hab dinner upside down." He said causing Zach to laugh. "I said backwards."
Lucas raised a brow then chuckled. "Ah. Okay. That makes more sense." he said then looked back at Isaiah. "So we have desert first?" he clarified with the child.
Isaiah nodded," Yeah... Daddy wikes bownies gooey." He explained. Zach nodded," Yup so we only eat dinner backwards during special times."
Ian nodded, smiling happily. It didn't take much to see that they made him happy. "Okay then. Let's hope this works." he said.
Zach nodded a little bit," It will and I don't care if you don't eat actual dinner Isaiah wanted to make you something good to eat." He said looking at Lucas. He could finally breath now that Lucas was out of the hospital
Lucas shrugged. "I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm sick of hospital food so I'm sure I'll eat a ton." he admitted with a small laugh.
Zach nodded a little bit," ohh yes I know I'm pretty sure I ate an entire box of cookies when I got home from the hospital." He answered with a laugh
"Yes. I remember that." Lucas said, adjusting his arm in his sling. He sighed. He hated the thing.
Zach looked at him," You know the more you mess with that thing the more uncomfortable it will be." He commented softly
"I can't get comfortable. Stupid medicine isn't helping with the pain either." Lucas grumbled but stopped fidgeting with it.
"Did they show you how to use it?" He asked setting Isaiah down and telling him to go to the table. Zach walked over to Lucas waiting for his answer
Lucas nodded. "Yes. They also said it wouldn't be very comfortable." he said, rolling his eyes then giving Zach a half smile.
Zach nodded a little," They are right on the not comfortable part." He answered," but if you keep it looser than they want it's more tolerable."
"I'm not supposed to let it move too much!" Lucas said, shaking his head in agitation. "I have no idea how you didn't just get up and walk around."
Zach shrugged a little bit," I honestly don't know how I didn't either... Probably how much pain I was in up until they put that big bulky cast on my leg."
Lucas nodded. "I'm bound to just use my arm anyways." he grumbled then looked up. "Shouldn't we be going to sit with Isaiah?"
"You can try to used it at dinner," he answered then nodded," We should but don't get frustrated with us now you just have to be patient and in no time you'll have your arm back."
Lucas sighed. "I don't know if I can be that patient." he said but smiled softly at Zach.
Zach chuckled softly and nodded," Yeah I didn't think I could either and I was in a cast and not allowed to walk longer than you will be not able to use your arm."
Lucas smiled wider. "Patience is not my virtue, Zach. That and I'm younger than you." he said, running his free hand through his hair.
Zach laughed softly," so what? That doesn't mean anything the fact that you are younger than me." He answered.
"More practice in life. And a three year old." Lucas pointed out, dragging his teeth across his lip and lip ring, smiling.
Zach rolled his eyes a little bit," okay so I have a little more practice than you do."
"A lot more practice. That child drives me insane." Lucas joked with a roll of his eyes.
Zach laughed at him," really because I thought you liked him."He teased
"I do. Doesn't mean he doesn't drive me insane." Lucas said and stuck his tongue out at Zach.
Zach laughed softly," ohh I believe you... He drives me nuts sometimes too." He answered
Lucas smiled and shook his head. "I'm going to join him." he announced, turning to step out of the kitchen.
Zach laughed," fine leave me." He answered pretending to be hurt about it but went to get te rest of their dessert
Lucas laughed as he walked out and went into the dining room, sitting at the table with Isaiah.
Zach walked in and put the bowl with Isaiah's creation in front of Lucas," so do you want ice cram with that or just to eat it that way?"He asked
"It's fine like this. Thank you." Lucas said to Zach then looked over at Isaiah. "Thank you for making this, buddy." Lucas said, smiling at Isaiah.
Zach nodded a little bit and then helped Isaiah with his brownie for a second. Isaiah smiled," Daddy said to mate you feel bettew,"
((Sorry.)). Lucas ruffled Isaiah's hair. "Thank you, little man. This will certainly make me feel better." he said.
((It's okay I figured you were busy)) Isaiah smiled," yay.... I want you to feew bettew." He said giggling a little," You tiy it." He said
Zach smiled as he watched them together
Lucas nodded. He took a bite and smiled at Isaiah. "It's very good, buddy." he said after he had swallowed. He needed a glass of water. The brownie was very rich.
"Daddy I hab mik?" Isaiah asked after eating a few bites of his own browning and watching as Zach got up. Zach nodded," yes you can... Do you need anything Lucas?" He asked
"Water, please." Lucas answered, waiting to continue eating the brownie until he had the drink.
Zach nodded slightly and went to go get all of them something to drink. "Here you are," he said putting a glass of water by Lucas and a sippy cup of milk by Isaiah
Lucas smiled at Zach then took a swig of the water. "Thank you, Zach." he and then started eating again.
Zach nodded as he sat back down," you're welcome Lucas." He answered eating his brownie only looking at Lucas every once in a while. The younger man actually made Zach nervous now.
Lucas ate his brownie, talking to Isaiah every now and then. He looked over at Zach. "You're very quiet." Lucas commented to him after finishing off his brownie and water.
