"Well why not?" he asked with a shrug. "Have other plans or what?"

Mason shook his head. "No other plans. But my winter jobs ended last month and I've got bills due in a week. Plus groceries." he pointed out, tossing the leaf up in the air. His eyes trailed it as it made it long way down, floating to the ground again and resting a few feet away from him.
Zach cringed his face as if to give a silent "ow." "Well do you need any help? I know Em wouldn't like hearing about you being in any sort of trouble," he chuckled lightly.
Mason shook his head again, looking over at Zach. "Hmm mm. I should get a paycheck by the end of this week which will cover m bills. I'll have to starve for a few days though." he joked, smiling softly. "But thank you for the offer."
"So Emily can cook! Come on, let us help at least a little," he smiled, fixing his imaginary glasses.
Mason sighed and smiled looking up at the tree. "Fine." he relented as he looked back over at Zach. "But I will not have her cook for more than necessary." Mason stated, tilting his head back farther to scratch his neck.
Zach couldn't help but laugh at that one. "Mase, she's a woman and women do what they want when it comes to this sort of thing. She'll have you seated at our table until she thinks you've had enough!"
