History: Mae's father always disapproved of her laziness. Her mother died when Mae was 2, so she never really knew her, but her father moved on from the death pretty quickly. He still tells Mae that her mother was the love of his life, though. 6 months after her mother's death, Mae's father quickly married Felicity Jordan, a woman who seemed sweet, but really hated Mae. Mae's father, Adam, never realized this. He was too caught up in Felicity's beauty.

Adam and Felicity always pushed Mae to study harder. But her grades always failed because she always found a way to skip her homework so that she could read and watch T.V. When Mae was 16, she managed to do good enough on her SAT test that she was accepted into her city's community college. Mae, however, was displeased. She had just escaped one school (high school). Why should she just go straight to another? When Mae was 17, she went to the college. Then after a month of being there, she dropped out without telling Adam and Felicity. Mae got on a plane, headed to a city she knew nothing about. Mae wanted to start over. She was watching a T.V show on her iPod when the plane crashed. She managed to escape the wreck with her life, and 9 other people. Everyone else in the crash died.

Personality: The best word you can use to describe Mae is fangirl. She knows what her two greatest loves in the world are: books and T.V. If Mae's not reading, then she's watching T.V. She only takes breaks from that to study, sleep, and eat. Mae's has a lot of favorite book series, but her absolute favorite is the Throne of Glass series. Whenever somebody mentions it to her she'll bounce up and down with joy. Her favorite T.V series is Unbreakable. She has the theme song memorized! Mae hates to be forced to do anything. She's happy to do almost anything if it's by her choice, but when she's being forced to do something, she'll do anything to escape it.
