Rattler sighed, "God poor Bones" he muttered knowing the guy had to be taking it hard. The bind between a Mngwa and a demon ran deep and it was practically in possible to actually move on completely. It was possible to be happy again but they'd always feel the loss, like a big whole in their chest. "Well what are you going to do now."

"I think we're going to move. I mean, we have to. The rebels and Marcus father already knew we were here so it would be stupid to stay..." She huffed and consoled a cooing baby. "Cal was in Tennessee.... If not there then I don't know." She sighed and flicked her eyes to Rattler. "Thanks for helping out so much."
Rattler shrugged slightly "Eh" he said and sighed softly. "You sure you want to live by your brother though" he asked and looked over at her. "If you think I was rude I really don't think Bones is going to do any better. Of course me might actually have a reason to try though" he said and shrugged slightly. "Have they met yet?" he asked curiously.
Emerson rolled her eyes. "I don't understand why you two are being so weird about him... You've barely even met him, and no, Bonds hasn't." The angel brushed her diggers gently over Nicolai's cheek, studying the differences between the two babies. "What makes you so paranoid about it?"
"Well us demons hate angels pretty much on site" Rattler said with a small smirk. "You're just a rare exception. And then there's the whole Malachi situation" he said with a chuckle. "Yeah Bones told me all about that. He didn't trust him you did and well now look at this shit storm" he said, not really blaming it all on that occurrence just mostly anything that directly involved the angel bastard. "And you know there is the whole fact that he hasn't meet him. That's probably the main reason." he said and shrugged slightly. "Me I'm a pessimist my nature."
"My brother raised me," Emerson countered. "He would never hurt me. That's totally different from psycho, manipulating Malachi." Emerson did kind of see the point though. "If he was going to make a move in on Bones or the babies he would have already done it."
"You don't know, maybe he's become more conniving over the years" Rattler said jokingly with a small chuckle. "You're right you can probably trust him, but just didn't get all butt hurt like you did last time if Bones doesn't right way" he said and shrugged slightly. "He's really not a trust person. "Took him two hundred years to trust me as much as he does now" he said.
Emerson sighed. "I know." She was pretty sure he still didn't trust her anymore. Was she willing to risk the little built-up trust again just for Cal? Especially if Rattler was right, she didn't think she would. Cal had just come back into her life without making contact over the past few decades, and Bones was here now.
"Hey, just because Bones doesn't trust him doesn't mean you can't have him in your life." Rattler said when he saw the thoughtful look on her face. "Maybe just limit the contact whit the babies to when he around as well, so that he can eventually see why he should trust him" he said.
"That makes sense, I guess, but we still probably shouldn't move to that area just for Callaghan. Bones will think I'm trying to make him more important than his opinion, if that makes sense." It was the same thing as the stupid guy in the shop. "We wouldn't have been able to get Crispin back without Cal, though. And the babies..." She looked down at them and smiled softly.
"Well don't worry about it, I'm sure it will all work out just fine" Rattler said and nodded slightly. "Well the whole brother thing anyway. Rest is just a crap-shoot" he said and shrugged slightly. "My advice for you is to just not try and push it too much. Sure move to Tennessee but maybe in a different town then your brother. Close but not trying to shove him down Bones's throat."
Emerson snorted. "I wouldn't do that- you can't shove anything down Bones' throat. It's honestly because I would feel weird reconnecting with him and then letting it slide, especially since he's helped so much despite the situation." The angel shrugged a bit. "I'm sure they'll end up fine as long as Cal isn't a replay of Malachi or whatever."
"Yeah" Rattler said and slumped down in the chair a bit with a sigh. "God your lifes are so complicated" he muttered with a huff and looked over at Emerson. "You're not part of the legion right?" he asked after a few moments. "So why aren't you a fallen angel?"
"Tell me about it," Emerson muttered, leaning back into the couch. She sighed and wiggled the babies to lay on either side of her as her arms were sore. "I technically am, but they haven't officially thrown me out or broken my wings or anything because they haven't had the chance to. I rejoined when Bones had an infection in his heart to get medicine for him but somehow Malachi got me out of it."
"Right right" Rattler said and nodded slightly "More complications I get it" he said and sighed again before pushing himself out of the chair. "Well I'm going to go to bed. See ya tomorrow" he said before ambling up the stairs, and going into his room. Though instead of going right to bed he went into the connecting bathroom and took a shower first.
Emerson smirked while watching the partially-drunk Rattler amble away. She didn't want to wake Bones so she ended up just carefully situating herself on the couch with the twins, the two of them softly cooing in their sleep. She didn't fall asleep but listened for Crispin in the guest room.
Once out of the shower Rattler climbed into bed and fell asleep almost instantly. Bones slept a bit restlessly, not really able to get completely comfortable or completely asleep and it sucked. He honestly love to have the empty void of being a sleep right now, but he'd take what he could get. So eventually he gave up and just laid on his stomach with his eyes closed, just hoping that he'd eventually get what he wanted but if not oh well.
Noises from the room made Emerson wonder if Bones was even sleeping, but at this point she couldn't get up without bringing the babies. Besides, if she went in there, it wasn't as if she could get into bed with him. They hand slept in the same room, let alone bed, in months, which made her chest constrict. She finally fell asleep to Nicolai's humming soon enough.
The next morning Bones still couldn't see but he could feel that his eyes were almost completely healed, though the rest of him was still kind of a wreck. He slowly crawled out of bed and stumbled out of the bedroom and back down to the bathroom. Once there he slowly pulled off his clothes before stepping into the shower.
Emerson slept heavily, the babies actually making it through the night as well. She was awaken by a stumbling around in the hallway and she knew it was Bones. She listened to the shower start before sitting up and checking the babies, who awoke without a sound. She arched her brow and made little faces at them.
Once Bones had finished with his shower he slowly stepped out and dried himself off. Then since he didn't actually have any clean clothes with him he just put on the ones he had been wearing. He sighed softly before sitting on the edge of the tub, his face buried in his hands, still haunted by thoughts of Copper. He still needed to bury her, but he had no idea where he should do it. They moved to much.
Emerson kept to the couch with the babies for a bit before realizing she still hadn't heart Crispin so she picked the twins up and bounced them around a bit, finally ending up in the guest room as she waited for Bones.
Bones wiped a few tears out off his cheeks before slowly standing up, he let out a slow breath before fumbling for the door knob. When he found it he let himself out of the bathroom and slowly stumbled back into the guest room and towards the bed.
Emerson walked with the babies around the room, turning to watch Bones when he came in. "Hey..." She followed to the bed and stopped, biting her lip. "How are you feeling?"
Bones sighed softly, "I'm fine....... don't worry about it" he said and sat down on the bed carefully. "You got the babies" he asked after a moment, he could kind of hear them but it was still just a shot in the dark.
Emerson nodded and moved forward a little, even though he couldn't see her still. "Cal brought them last night..." She looked down between either of the babies in her arms and smiled softly. "Do- do you want to...?" She trailed off, not really sure if Bones was up to actually meet them or not.
Bones thought a moment before nodding slightly, wanting to hold one. His arms were still a bit swore but they were okay, pretty much completely healed. "Yeah, I'll hold one" he said with a small smile turning his head in the direction her voice had come from.
Emerson approached him a little closer and nodded, slowly and carefully passing him their daughter. "That's Albany," she said quietly, watching the baby's eyes light up a bit as she looked at her father.
Bones smiled small down at their daughter, "Hey baby girl" he said after a few moments. He really wasn't sure how to handle a baby, but he gently held her in one arm while the other kind of felt at her stomach for a moment before going to help support her body.
"She's smiling," Emerson told him, a grin spreading across her own face. She watched Bones fumbled with how to hold Albany for a moment before actually cradling her correctly. She watched bones' face for a bit before smiling down at Nicolai.
Bones smiled and nodded slightly, not really sure what do do now at all. He really wasn't good with kids, especially babies. He hated that he couldn't see her, but he still looked down in her direction, kind of making funny faces.
Emerson watched Albany and Bones again, an Albany giggled when her father began to make faces. Emerson's chest had a funny feeling again and again she felt bad for ruining things between the two of them around the time thy found out she was pregnant. She didn't even want to remember trying to kill the babies. She bit down on her lip so hard she had a metallic taste in her mouth, and sat down on the bed near but not too near Bones, distracting herself with Nicolai.
Bones looked up after a moment, "Why do I smell blood??" he asked and turned to look in her general direction. "Are you okay" he asked, since he knew it wasn't him. Well at least he didn't feel like there was any blood coming out of his person. There was none of the usual moistness that came with it.
Emerson glanced over at Bones, her tongue swiping at the blood on her lip. "I'm okay, I just..." Well, now it sounded stupid. "I bit my lip," she said with an awkward laugh, looking back down at Nicolai. She sucked on her lip for a moment before looking from Nicolai to Albany to Crispin, watching him since she knew he couldn't see.
Bones snorted slightly and shook his head slightly, "You bit your lip?" he questioned with a small smile before shaking his head again. After a moment he looked over in her direction again and sighed softly, "You sure you're okay?" he asked after a few moments. "You tend to bit at your lips when your upset"
Emerson watched Bones and thought she had been caught when he looked at her, and she blushed and looked back down at Nicolai with a swallow. "I'm just thinking too much again," she brushed off, making a little face at Nicolai, who did the funny Crispin-like grunting thing again in form of a laugh. "Don't worry about it."
Bones nodded slightly, "Okay" he said, respecting that she didn't want to talk about it, like she was doing with him. "Hey does your brother move around a lot?" he asked after a long moment of silence. He was looking back down at Albany, making funny faces, when the thought just popped into his head.
Emerson returned back to Nicolai, feeling a little bad that she wasn't telling Crispin the full truth but also knowing that doing so had ruined things with them before, so she just listened to the babies' spitting laughter and smiled softly. She glanced at bones when he asked and frowned slightly. "Um, we used to a lot when I was little, but I have no idea now. Why?"
Bones shrugged slightly, "Just wondering" he said, not really elaborating anymore on the subject and not really planning too. He figure something else out, maybe use when of his over seas estates that no one really knows about.
Emerson shrugged and laid back on the bed, taking Nicolai with her and snuggling him to her chest. She sighed after a moment. "We don't have to move to Tennessee," she promised, looking over at Crispin.
Bones shrugged slightly, "It's fine, don't have anything against the state" he said and shrugged again before looking back in the direction of Albany, again starting to make funny faces. "Whatever you want if fine."
Albany dissolved into laughter again and reached up with her tiny hand to bat at her father's face, and Emerson broke into a soft smile, feeling Nicolai's own sleepy humming against her. "No, you pick. I trust your judgement."
Bones shook his head slightly "I don't really care where we live" he said honestly and gave Albany a big smile. "If you want to live by your brother we can" he said and cooed down at Albany fro a moment before starting to make funny faces again. He really just wished that he could actually see her.
"Well... It might not be a good idea to live in Tennessee..." Emerson watched Crispin and Albany, rolling on her side but holding Nicolai close. "It's close to wear we used to live, and honestly if anyone knew that Cal was involved him living there would be dangerous, especially if we moved closer to him." The angel swallowed and stared up at the ceiling. "Maybe we should move out of country."
Bones nodded slightly, "Okay" he said and thought a moment, "How's Italy of France sound. I have a few dozen properties I already own there........ in different names" he said and looked back in her general direction, since he couldn't tell where she was exactly. "Did you have an actual country in mind?" he asked.
Emerson's lips broke into a smile as she imagined the two of them with the babies in either of the places. "Either sounds perfect... I didn't have anywhere in mind. Do you have any particular property that you enjoy?" She gently rubbed her fingers over Nicolai's chubby cheeks.
"I have one in Paris that I like. Well outside of Paris, it's a vineyard" Bones said and smiled small, though it quickly faded when he accidentally thought about how Copper would like the big yard. "Though I also have a smaller place in Verona Italy" he said and looked back down at Albany.
"Well... We might need more space because of the babies," Emerson began but realized quickly why Bones had diverted the attention from the vineyard: Copper. She frowned and continued to gently stroke Nicolai's face. "I want you to pick where we go," she said again.
Bones sighed softly and closed his eyes, refusing to let any tears fall. "I don't know" he said after a few moments. "Honestly anywhere is fine" he said and let a slowly breathe, "I have a nice place in Milan" he said and shrugged slightly, kind of wanting to just change the subject now.
"We can figure it out later," Emerson whispered, chewing on the inside of her cheek again. She pulled herself to sit up and pressed her back to the headboard, laying Nicolai in her lap and holding his hand.
