"Well, you have me as a role model now," Emerson half-teased. "Besides, it's not like I know how to be a mom. We're both jumping in, but at least we have each other." She winced, both from a pain and the cheesiness of what she was saying.

"Crispin, that isn't going to make you a bad father. You've never tried to stab me when I was being annoying- you sure as hell won't when you see your babies." She gently took his hand and leaned against the counter. "I know you've had other kids and the circumstances around other mothers at birth..." She recalled his story of killing the woman who had had his last twins once they had been born, and frowned slightly. "I trust it will be different. For both of us."

Emerson stepped back, closing her eyes. "I know you did," she whispered. "I would rather have you burn our house down than hurt one of our kids." She sighed and backed up to the counter opposite of Bones, leaning against it. "Though if it came to it I'd also rather have you hit me than burn our house down, maybe."

"Are you saying you don't want to be around?" Emerson questioned, furrowing her brows. "Because, considering I could have them any day, it's kind of late to back out." She didn't think he would, but she wasn't positive. Anything could happen with what was going on then.

"Don't worry about it," Emerson replied, pecking Bones on the cheek before slipping past him to get bowls from the cupboard and spoons from the drawer. She set their usual places and grabbed a glass of water for her and a drink for Bones.

"It smells good," Emerson said, serving both of their bowls before putting the lid on the pot to keep it hot. "Thanks for making dinner again." It kind of took her forever to do it.

"I bet you could even now," Emerson joked back, giving Bones a small smile before returning to her bowl. She took a few bites and swallowed before she spoke again. "It's really good," she praised, taking a sip of her water. "The flavors are amazing."

Emerson smiled at Bones' chuckle, listening to his question. "Well..." She said as she leaned a little back to think. "After I was out of the legion, I had a shop for a little while, but then Kylist happened." She rolled her eyes at that and absently stirred her bowl. "After I got mostly away from him I started it back up, so it's been a while on and off. Around Kylist time I worked in his business." She leaned against the counter and watched Bones. "What else have you done?"

Emerson laughed, arching her brows at Bones. "And what makes being a history professor gather such easy prey? 'Recent studies have shown that due to past happenings you're bound to end up in my office so I can screw with then kill you,'" she imitated in the dramatically deep British voice again. "'Don't worry... In the past it's only hurt... A lot..." She erupted in giggles at the idea of Bones even trying to seduce her in such a way, holding a hand over her belly as her face reddened a bit.

Emerson made a fake gagging motion and rolled her eyes into the back of her head. "Ew." She laughed and returned to her bowl, finishing off and swallowing before adding, "I bet you slicked back your hair and everything."

"Um.." Emerson considered it, pushing aside her bowl and sipping her water. "Probably because I imagine the younger you to have one. It seems like it would fit you. I don't know." She knew her accent had only barely faded since they had met, but that was because she purposefully kept it. She liked being an oddity.

Emerson sighed dramatically, although she cracked a grin. "Too bad... It would totally increase your hotness by at least fifteen to twenty percent, one hundred being an infinite number," she added the last part, as he usually liked to argue that she had decided he was the hottest. She slid off her seat and took her bowl to the sink, glancing back at Bones. "Are you done or do you want more?"

Emerson smiled, looking back at him with a fake pout. "Not fair," she groaned. Still, she quickly finished washing and put the dishes into the drainer, putting the leftover chili into the fridge before grabbing a sweater and waddle-walking outside to find Bones.

Emerson thought about it as she slowly sat down onto the porch swing. "No... I cleaned up this morning." She smiled and eyes Bones. "All that's left is the waiting," she murmured, watching him smoke and lightly pushing back and forth.

((What did you say the longest-running RP you had counted at?))
Hmm..." Emerson pretended to contemplate, even patting her belly and staring at it. "I'm guessing like around a week? The other night I thought I was having contractions but it passed... That's probably a sign that we're close." Emerson really didn't know, though, and she rubbed her stomach.
((This seems weird... I don't know :P It feels too comfortable even though I know they're about to be attacked.))

"Well that's good" Bones said and nodded slightly, "I'm sure you're getting sick of being pregnant by now" he said and looked over her for a moment. "I hear the last trimester is supposed to be very uncomfortable" he said.
((Do you want something to happen before he leaves? Like between him and her?))
((Ooh... I know it seems like we're kind of drawing to a close (I've literally never had a completed RP), but I bet if we kept adding to the plot we could beat it :D))
Emerson groaned, nodding. "Like I said earlier, I feel like a beached whale. And I know I look like one too." She sighed and leaned back to close her eyes in the swing. "Honestly... I'm excited to get the pregnancy over with, and I'm happy to have kids, but... I wish things were the way they were a few months ago. Before I was pregnant and the fight and... It's all just a lot."
((Yeah, but not something too big to where they would be seriously pissed at each other. What if she brings up something about him killing the girl who had his other twins?))

Bones nodded slightly "Yeah I agree" he said and sighed softly. He still really didn't trust he completely, he knew he was being a wang about it but he didn't care. She was literally one of two people he's ever trusted completely in his entire life so it was heart breaking when she broke that trust. "But having the babies will be nice" he said and nodded again.
((Yeah, sounds good.))
Emerson rested for a moment, itching at a thought for the time before sitting back up and biting hard on her lip. She didn't want the answer but it was bugging at her. "Crispin... Am I annoying you?" she asked quietly, knowing he would still hear. Maybe it was the fact that he was smoking again and she knew he did that when he was stressed, or that it had been bothering her since the beginning of the pregnancy.

Emerson chewed on her lip again before sighing. "I just... It's nothing. Just my hormones talking or something," she wrote off quickly, not wanting to make a big deal about it even though she hated blaming anything on hormones. "Forget I asked."

"It's really not important..." Emerson swallowed and looked down. "I just know you're stressed and I need to know if I'm causing any of it. I don't want to make you angry like..." She paused. "I don't want to end up like the woman you killed after she had the twins you sent to Jacqueline," she whispered, frowning. She didn't bother to look up at Bones because she knew that telling him the truth would honestly piss him off.

"Don't you understand that I'm scared?" Emerson pushed to stand, but didn't walk towards Bones. "Don't you see that I'm so confused? What am I supposed to think? It's been six months and you still haven't moved back. Just because it isn't the same exact situation doesn't mean it doesn't look like it could turn out that way." Emerson shuddered and held a hand over her stomach, biting the inside of her cheek hard again. "I have the right to ask. Don't be pissed because I want to know."

"I am trying to make it work." Emerson turned to look out over the porch but still spoke to Crispin. "Try waking up every night in excruciating pain and wondering why one mistake kept the other half of this-" she pointed at her stomach, "Isn't there to hold me." Her chin quivered and she closed her eyes. "I'm trying to trust you, Crispin, but after waiting for so long, I wonder what's holding you back."

"Stop calling it sneaking around!" Emerson snapped. "I was trying to help someone, and yes, I disobeyed you, and I said I'm sorry more times than I can count. I don't know what more you want, Bones. If you can't let go of something so small, then how am I supposed to trust you?" Emerson clenched and released her fists. "I have no idea how I'm 'playing the victim' to you, unless you think I'm lying about the pain. If you think I'm getting too much 'victim time' and would like to complain a little, obviously you can't see that you already are." She swallowed hard and walked past Bones, slamming the door to the house behind her.

Emerson froze in the hallway, her chest constricting at Bones' words. She listened to him storm away, even hearing his truck start. She stayed in the hallway for so long that it became dark until she moved again. She felt like she needed to do something before going to bed so she finished putting the dishes away, all the while breathing funnily and replaying Bones' words over and over in her head. She slammed the cupboard doors shut and slowly made her way upstairs, hot tears on her face. She climbed into the guest room's bed and toss Bones' shirt aside, hissing in anger.

Emerson felt like screaming for hours but held her temper. She didn't realize as she fell asleep, but she must have, because only a couple hours later she awoke to what she thought was a footstep. After so long of being alone, she was attune to the house being dead quiet in her sleep. She slowly sat up in bed, backing up to the headboard and pulling her blanket up with her. She frowned, actually holding her breath to listen again.

"Don't care about what, Son?"
Emerson was about to slide back into her bed when she heard more footsteps and the floors creaking. A squeak escaped her lips and she slipped off of the bed, reaching for the dagger she kept on the knight stand. She wondered if it was just Bones but he wouldn't have been sneaking around. She took the few steps to the door and stepped out into the hallway, only to have her hand immediately hit. She dropped the dagger and turned, her assailant backing her up into the hallway lit dim by a window from her room. "What's that for? Shiny." Emerson narrowed her eyes in recognition of the voice.

"That really doesn't matter how I got here son" Marcus said and walked farther into the room twirl around a dagger in his hand. "Been watching you fro a few days now, guess you got the angel pregnant" he said and chuckled softly. "But you're also not really together anymore" he said with a smirk.
((Don't know if that's his dad's name, but I feel like it is.))
