By instinct Emerson raised her hand to her hair, feeling it spikey in weird places. She rolled her eyes, returning back to her food. "It's only like that because of you," she reminded him, eyeing his own hair as she mussed with the food in her bowl. "Yours has that after-sex glow to it as well, I'll have you know."

"I love having my hair played with; I always figure everyone else does," Emerson explained, spooning food into her mouth. She listened to Crispin and swallowed before nodding. "I'm up for whatever you want to do. Do I get to know?" she asked before eating a bit more.

Emerson rolled her eyes but smirked at his remark, returning to her food and finishing up. She rinsed off the dishes and put it in the strainer before heading upstairs to join Bones, even though she was pretty sure he had been joking.
((Want to skip his friend coming over altogether or get that over with?))

Bones laid in bed and stared up at the ceiling, his phone pressed to his ear as he waited for Rattler to pick up. "Hey mate" he said, when the guy finally answered his phone.
"What's up" Rattler asked with a small smile before winking at some chick on the other side of the bar.
"Need you to charm my new place. You free anytime soon?" Bones asked and slowly sat up in bed.
"Ummmm, yeah I can be there in a few hours" Rattler said and slowly slide off the stool and walked over to the girl. "Text me the meet up location" he said before hanging up the phone.
Bones smiled and hung u as well. Then he quickly tested a location of a bar in the next town over where they could meet up.
See ya at six Rattle sent back before putting all his attention on the girl standing in front of him.
Bones read the text before standing up and heading downstairs and out the door towards the barn. "I'll be meet him up at that bar at Six. You wanna come with?" he asked with a smile as he watched her work on her shop."
((After she answers we can just go ahead and skip to it being six and have them be at the bar.))
((Sounds good.))
Emerson looked over at Bones from where she stood on a table, lifting a shelf up onto a hook she had placed. "I'd like to come, sure," she nodded, although mostly not wanting to be there by herself, especially without the charm on their place yet.
Emerson ran her hand through her hair while she followed Bones into the bar, her other hand holding his. The last time she had seen one of his friends, Abby had tried to spike a dagger through her face, so she was a little nervous.

Rattle walked up to the table, "Yo TB, how you doin" he said and pulled his friend out of the booth for a gangster bro hug. "whose the chick" he asked and slide into the seat across from them.
Bones smiled and and shook his head slightly before sitting back down. "She's Emerson. My girlfriend" he said.
"Wow, first one since Jane" Rattler said and nodded slightly. "Most be one special chick, or the sex is amazing" he said.
Bones sighed softly, "Yes on both counts, but didn't really come here to talk about that" he said.
Emerson arched we brows at Bones. "That honestly doesn't make me feel better," she murmured to his 'he's screwed like five Angels' comment.
She narrowed her eyes to study the demon, still on edge. "I'm also right here, and not deaf," she spoke, crossing her arms and taking a sigh. She looked to Bones to explain why they were there.
((What if Rattler ends up staying in town and is the one to figure out that she's pregnant? Or do you have a different idea?))

Rattler chuckled softly, "Right right, sorry. Just not used to ma man having a trophy girl hanging on his arm" he said and looked over at Emerson. "Sorry" he said and shook his head slightly before turning to look at Bones. "So ya need a house to be charmed" he said, I'm assuming it's in a different town, but still close by"
Bones nodded slightly, "Yeah, you know how it is" he said and smiled small.
Rattler nodded slightly, "Yeah bro, your father paid me a visit dude. Broke ma collar bones and said to let em know if I heard from ya. Said you were hookin up with some angel" he said and looked over at Emerson. "Didn't believe im but I'ma guess this chick be the angel" he said and laughed softly before looking back at Bones. "Dude you gonna need 'n extra strong charm because I'm pretty sure her side ain't to happy bout this eitha" he said.
"We have more to worry about than just angels and Demons," Emerson muttered, rapping her fingers on her bicep in thought. She bit her lip and looked away, feeling like they had eyes on them, although they didn't. She didn't like being in a bar she wasn't acquainted with.

Bones nodded slightly, "No where safe here" he said and slowly stood up. "But we should probably get going. Got better booze at home" he said. "Plus then we can get this whole spell thing over with and get to the fun part" he said.
Rattler nodded slightly and slide out of the booth, "Perrrfect" he said.
((Want to just skip now or...?))
((Okay. I'm... Any ideas as to what they might be fighting about?))

((I really don't want to just jump into it but kind of also want to?
Maybe Emerson has a customer that's bugging her or Bones just doesn't like him and they had been arguing about that, but Bones is questioning whether she's cheating or not, or...))

((I'll just wing this... It'll probably be a flop :P))
Late one night in the late spring, Emerson snuck out of the house to walk to her shop. She tugged her sweater tight in the breeze that blew her shoulder-length hair, running along the path barefoot until she reached the door, opening it just enough to sneak in. Her plan was to meet this man -Lucas- at night, because she thought if it were in the morning Bones would notice. "Thank you for being willing to help," the voice greeted her from inside when she switched the light on.
"No problem- my fiancé is just stressed. Don't worry about him," Emerson promised as she passed Lucas to look for his bottle of medicine. She climbed up onto a table to reach a shelf on the wall, Lucas standing behind her in wait.
The young woman slipped with a cry of alarm, the bottle in hand, but Lucas caught her, holding her with one arm hooked under her knees and the other supporting her back.

Bones shook his head slightly before walking out of the house and hurrying over tot he barn. He was about to walk inside when he heard a mans voice and froze. He took a step back not sure what he was really supposed to do in this situation. The old him would have probably have already killed the guy, but he's been trying to work on that. So instead he walked over to one of the window she put in and looked in. When he saw that he was holding her, his anger only grew. Though instead of killing the guy he just walked back to the house, deciding he's at least talk to her first.
Emerson froze in the grip of the human, growing rigid when the man leaned in his face towards hers, his eyes closing. She scrambled out of his arms, slipping and stumbling on the floor as she dropped ungracefully. "What's wrong?" Lucas asked, taking a step closer to her despite her retreat. She backed up to the counter she had fallen from and shook her head.
"You need to go," she told him, reaching up to pull the other bottles with the medicines he had been coming in for and setting them on the counter in front of him. Medically speaking, she shouldn't have been giving so much of it away at once, but she wanted him gone.
Lucas seemed to get that she wasn't interested, but took her hand anyway and tried to make eye contact. "I'll leave you alone," he promised, his voice so quiet she could barely hear with the nervous buzzing in her ears. "Just one kiss." Which she thought was weird, and even though she felt sick to her stomach, she stayed in place and let him press his lips for a ridiculously long moment to hers before leaving his money on the counter and taking the bottle and leaving the shop. She watched him leave with only a look of regret on her face before turning to switch off the light in the barn.

Emerson, her head aching and hands tingling, finally headed back to the house. She wasn't sure if she would be able to sleep with Bones next to her, knowing what had just happened, so she planned to wake him up and tell him, no matter if he would be mad. At least it would be better than keeping it from him.
She realized that she didn't need to tell him, as when she grew closer to the house, she heard a plate shatter. Her stomach lurched and she froze, taking a deep breath and opening the back door to step into the house.
She froze again when she saw the destruction that Bones had already caused. Their table and chairs were in splinters on the dining room floor- she wasn't sure what else he had done until she saw a weird patch shredded from the wall. Her eyes were wide and in the moment she was honestly afraid to find him, stepping over a broken chair leg in her bare feet, she stopped in the doorway that went from the dining room to kitchen, which was when she finally saw Bones.

Emerson stayed glued to the doorway, her hands frozen at her sides. It wasn't the only time she had seen Crispin's demon eyes, but it was definitely the first time that anger had been directed at her. "I-" she stumbled, starting the same way he had. "He was a customer- I told him to go. I didn't..." She assumed Crispin had seen the human kiss her. "I didn't lead him on- I didn't know he was going to do that," she promised, her voice surprisingly normal considering how sick she felt in that moment.

Emerson flinched, and instead of looking at Crispin when she answered, she just stared at the broken edge of the counter. "It was someone you said you didn't want me to sell to anymore- from a couple months ago. He needed medicine." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "He did- he did kiss me," she whispered, swallowing hard.

Emerson could practically feel the aggression dripping off of Crispin. She held her eyes shut tight as he yelled and ran off, hugging herself tight. She felt like she was going to puke, but all she did was cry silently, her shoulders shaking so badly that she dropped to her knees.
The next morning, she awoke early, finding herself on the couch, even though she didn't remember getting there. She wasn't really thinking about it- she was more trying to sit up as her stomach jumped to her throat. She stood and made her way to the bathroom, unable to keep herself from dry heaving, as she hadn't eaten anything in the past couple days.
When she felt okay enough, she went to the kitchen to get a bottle of water, avoiding the mess as best as possible. She went back to go lay down, confused as to how she had gotten I'll, as she most never did.
After an hour of thinking-slash-sleeping, she bolted up with a curse on the tip of her tongue. She went back to the bathroom and looked in to mirror, eyeing her face before her eyes dropped to her stomach in the mirror. She lifted her shirt, seeing nothing abnormal, but then she felt another stomach lurch and something beneath her skin moved, which in turn made her heave again.
Once this was over, she went to the barn and looked for her books, wondering what she had done wrong. With Bones gone, she couldn't do something like this on her own. She wouldn't find him to tell him either- he would just claim the baby was half human, not demon. She studied the recipe for the contraceptive she had been using only to find her herbs were too old to be any good. She cursed again and looked through the book, bringing it and other potions back into the house with her, hoping it was early enough to get rid of it, although she was morally against such a thing.
The next few days she tried anything she could think off- but everything just made her feel progressively sicker. One afternoon she laid on the couch, a thunderstorm shaking the empty house, and the full reality of what was happening hit her. She curled up tight with a big blanket over her, her face pale and itchy from incessant crying. She jumped when she heard a knock at the door, thinking she had imagined it, but also not wanting to move.

Bones felt like breaking things again but he decided against ti because he'd just have to clean it up later. Instead he went and raided the liquor cabinet and grabbed like four different bottle of booze. Then he went to the bedroom and flopped down on the bed and quickly chugged half the bottle whiskey before half to come up for air. After that he just stare up at the ceiling and drank fro the next two days. He wasn't even sure if he had slept at all, the days kind of just blended together.
"Yo TB would you answer the door dog" Rattler called from the doorstep, since he's been knocking for several minutes already and he was tired of waiting. What is taken them so long, he thought before shaking his head slightly. He would think they weren't home, but he distinctively heard to heartbeats coming from inside the house.
Emerson just wanted to melt into the couch and ignore Rattler. "Go away," she even managed to groan quietly. When she heard Rattler knock again she groaned, pushing herself off the couch and holding the blanket around her shoulders. Her hair was wet and plastered to her sickly-looking skin from a shower- she honestly probably looked dead-and-walking. She opened the front door to a cold blast of rainy wind, tightening the blanket at her shoulders as she stepped aside to let the demon in -for what same reason, she didn't know, other than that he was probably the closest thing she had to a friend. "Why do you call him TB?" she asked, her voice husky from disuse over the past couple days.

"I'm sick," Emerson brushed it off, still having a small hope that she could just terminate the pregnancy. If she told Rattler then he would definitely tell Bones. She wanted to smile at the story but didn't, glancing around at the mess that Bones had made, followed by her inability to clean things up. She sat down with a sigh. "Crispin is what happened to the house. I'm afraid he's not here, since you came to see him." She swallowed, her throat constantly dry. "Sorry. We're... In a fight. He left a couple days ago."

Emerson recoiled, leaning away from Rattler at his question. "I would tell him, but we agreed months ago that we couldn't have kids. I'm taking care of it." She pointed to a couple half-empty bottles on the coffee table. "I can't even go out to find him- every time I stand I feel like my body is shattering." She wanted to know how Rattler knew, but decided it wasn't worth the energy she didn't have anyway. "Besides, he thinks I was having an affair. He would kill me if he found out I'm pregnant." She held her hand over her Crispin's-Tshirt-clad stomach. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "He's probably just wallowing in his anger somewhere." She was honestly afraid to tell him. If Rattler knew, was there a possibility Bones knew? The idea that Crispin could possibly know and hadn't come to her made her feel even more lightheaded.

Emerson's lip trembled, and she listened to Rattler. She blanched and stood the moment the door closed, rushing to open it despite her weakness. "Wait, Rattler," she stopped him, stumbling out of the door. She held her hand on the railing of the porch. "Would you..." She hated asking for things, but knew he was right, and probably wouldn't mind going to bug Bones. "Would you please go get him?" she asked quietly, her voice trembling for fear of not just what the demon would say, but the possibility of seeing Crispin again soon.

Bones eventually climbed out of bed and tossed the empty bottles of whiskey in the trash. Then he stumbled into the bathroom and hoped into the shower. He couldn't stand the stench of his bio anymore, so he kind of just forced himself to get out of bed. He let the hot water run over his body for a long while before finally moving to actually wash himself.
When Bones was done he quickly dried himself off and pulled on some of the clothes that he left here in case of emergencies . He ambled into the kitchen after getting dressed and rumbled through the cupboards for more liquor, but unfortunately, he was out. "Fuck" he hissed before walking into the living room and flopping down on the couch. A second later Copper came up and jumped onto his lap.
Rattler walked up to the front door and didn't even bother knocking, he just walked right in. "Yo TB what's up" he called and looked around a bit before finding his friend in the living room. "Dude you look terrible" he said and shook his head slightly before sitting down in one of the chairs.
"What do you want Rattler?" Bones asked, a little irritated already.
Rattler smiled, "Just went by yo other house to tell you your father is making rounds to all your friends asken about you, so be careful who you talk to. " he said and stood up. "also yo angel girl looks terrible, and kind of like the walken dead" he said.
"And why should I care what the cheating bitch looks like" Bones snapped., his eyes flashing black.
"Right of course" Rattler said and nodded slightly, "Then you probably also won't care that the cheating bitch is also pregnant"
"What!" Bones yelled and stood up suddenly, which didn't make Copper so happy since he kind of just flung her onto the floor. "You know what, I don't fuck care because it's probably not even mine" he growled.
Rattler nodded slightly, "True true, can never trust them angels, can't believe you even slept with one" he said and shook his head slightly.
"Watch it" Bones growled.
"Whatever" Rattler said and started making his way to the door. "Just go talk to her dude" he yelled.
Emerson loitered on the porch until chills ran through her body, and she turned around to head back inside. She grabbed her blanket and brought it with her to the couch, practically falling onto it and bring the blanket over her. She started crying again, curled up and shaking, and she felt pathetic. She held a hand over her stomach, whatever the thing was moving beneath her hand at every sob, and she wondered if Bones would actually come back, or just assume that she really had cheated and permanently leave her. She didn't want to be alone any longer than the two days she already had.

When Bones got there he slowly walked inside and took in the scene. He hated that his anger got the best of him, but that didn't make him hate Emerson in this moments any less. "You if you wanted to talk you didn't have to send my best-friend to ambush me" he said though he hadn't actually seen her yet.
The couple hours since Rattler had left passed by blurring, although it wasn't as if it were fast. She tried to drink some water but it didn't make her throat any less dry, and she was pretty sure she fell asleep and was having nightmares. So when she thought she heard Bones' voice, she wasn't all that surprised, more confused that it wasn't him yelling or cursing her. Her eyes opened slowly and she leaned up a little to look over the back of the couch, towards the voice.
Her stomach dropped for the billionth time when she realized he wasn't in a dream- that Rattler had somehow convinced him to come. She dug her fingers into the leather of the couch to feel like she was tethered to where she was at. "Are you drunk?" was all she managed to get out, her voice still raspy. At the sound, the baby moved again and she hissed, narrowing her eyes.

"Or what, you'll rip a door off the wall?" Emerson narrowed her eyes just slightly and clamped a hand over her abdomen. "It's yours, you idiot." She would have never talked to him like that, but bitterness overwhelmed her emotions in the case that he hadn't forgiven her- she wasn't sure why she expected him to. "I never cheated on you."

"Crispin!" Emerson screeched, pissed that he would walk away when he could see she obviously couldn't follow him easily. "I-" she scrambled to stand. "I didn't know that was going to happen! I thought he honestly needed help- you know I can't stand to not help people." She followed him and stood in the doorway that connected the hall to the living room and front door, her hand on the wall for support. "I would never try to hurt you- please," she begged, pain in her eyes from the baby and the situation. "I love you."

"You're leaving me because of a mistake," Emerson whispered, her lip trembling and her face wet with tears. "I'm sorry, Crispin. I'm sorry I ignored your warning- I'm sorry you heard what I said." She stepped towards him as quickly as she dated, taking his hand and placing it on her stomach, knowing he would be able to feel the movement when she spoke next. "Nothing matters more to me than you." The pain still showed on her face, and her eyes pleaded with him not to leave her.

Emerson thought she could have persuaded Bones by this time, and when he pulled his hand away, she shakily held both hands on her belly. "You know I wouldn't have done that if I really thought he was coming on to me, Crispin," she cried. "You know I wouldn't leave you if it were reversed!" She stepped closer to him again, raising her hands from her stomach to his face. "We said we couldn't stand to lose each other; you aren't even losing me, you're walking away." She swallowed hard and searched his face. "Please don't go," she whispered again.
