Emerson shuddered at the mention of paint; the baby blue of a couple of the rooms made her want to puke. "Yeah, let's figure out which shade of white you want to pick." She was sort of teasing, but it honestly needed to be done. "If we order it today it should be ready tomorrow, I think." Usually paint orders took a little while to process.

Emerson thought about it. "I mean... maybe? I kind of like what we have, but it doesn't really suit us. I could just reupholster and refurnish the furniture. Unless you'd rather buy entirely new?" She glanced over at him, stoping then to check out the kitchenware aisle.

"It's not really a hobby; I've actually never done anything like that before," Emerson told Crispin after they finished up in that aisle to move along. "We're almost done." She paused to run over the list in her head and nodded. "Just have to get our booze," she said teasingly, "and check out the paint."

Emerson rolled her eyes but allowed a scoffing chuckle. "With the way I drink, huh? I figured it was the other way." She playfully pushed his arm lightly, steering the cart into the liquor aisle for them to inspect.

Emerson grabbed the liquor to suit her own taste, knowing Bones was already taking his own. "Now, to go check out paint, right?" She wasn't exactly confirming; just making sure Bones was done with the liquor aisle. She tugged on one of her curls, walking back to the cart with one last bottle.

"Maybe off-white, if we're suddenly feeling a little crazy," Emerson said snarkily, rolling her eyes with a chuckle. "But no, I think plain colors are good. Like you said, it means we can pair whatever furniture we want with it." She shrugged and leaned her head on his shoulder for a second.

"Pretty sure I'm good..." Emerson trailed off, watching him and wondering why he continued to ask. She honestly didn't care, but leaned against the cart and peeked around him to look at the swatch he had his eye on. "That's nice," she commented, running a hand through her hair.

Emerson watched Bones put in the order for the paint, glancing around the store as he did so. When he was done, she twined her fingers through his and asked, "I think we're good. Anything else you can think of before we leave?"

"Alright." Emerson grinned and followed after him, waiting until they had gone through and paid before walking ahead, sneakily slipping the truck keys out of Bones' pocket so she could unlock it. Some of the stuff could go in the bed of the car but others couldn't. She led the way back outside, pausing to open the truck up and help unload.

Emerson closed up the back seat, then went around and got in the passenger seat, taking hold of Bones' hand again. "What do you want to do when we get back?" she asked, since it was still fairly early.

Emerson bit on her lower lip and looked out the window without another word. She watched the town go by again, thinking about how she was glad they had a house out of the main streets, as they were busy and followed by a lot of people. She seemed to jump out of a daze when Bones finally stopped in their driveway, and she peeled her hand from his, hopping out with the realization she hadn't buckled. The angel kind of made a scan of the area, still paranoid over the entire demon and Malachi situation.

Emerson shook her hear slowly, sort of sheepish for being so paranoid. "No, I don't, thankfully," she replied, opening up the back door so she could grab a big armful of bags. She kept one hand free, though, so she could unlock the house. She stepped ahead and did so, holding the door open for Bones to pass in.

"You okay?" Emerson asked softly, as he wasn't really talking and was giving off a... vibe. She pulled the dishes and such out to set by the sink; she would wash them before putting away. She also put away the liquor, keeping one bottle out that she gestured to Bones with. "Want to drink?" She arched an eyebrow.

"It's never too early for alcohol," Emerson teased half-heartedly back, taking her own swig. She started washing the dishes before setting the bug she held down and facing Bones again. "No, seriously, what's up?" she asked soberly, a crease between her furrowed eyebrows.

"Oh-kay," Emerson said slowly, her eyes narrowing for a moment before giving a slight shrug. "Then you go do something else; make the bed, will you? The comforter should be done by now. I'll finish up here," she promised, winking before turning around and continuing the job she had assigned herself.

Emerson washed all of the new dishes, grabbing one of the kitchen towels they had bought to dry everything before putting the items in the cupboards. She put the food they had bought away before chuckling as she realized Bones had taken the liquor bottle with him. She tidied up the rest of the kitchen and went to go find him, grabbing the throw blanket and setting it on the back of the couch in the living room. The angel paused, seeing something she hadn't noticed before: an upright piano was tucked away in a small alcove. Abandoning her first track of going to find Bones, she sat down at the bench after grabbing a paper towel from the kitchen, swiping down the dust before playing a chord.

"I found a piano?" The sentence from Emerson was both squeaky and questioning, as if she were still kind of surprised about it. "We didn't get a good look in here the other day, huh?" She played a few more melodic chords, a little rusty for having not played in a few years, but continued playing, not bothered by it.

Emerson lulled her head to the side, her hands poised over the keys. She kind of narrowed her eyes at Bones. "Would you really want a stranger in our house? It could end up to be someone hired by the legion, or your father..." She trailed off, turning back to the piano with a shrug. "I'll do it sometime when you go out to have your fun," she said, knowing he would understand what she meant by it. She played more quietly, though, so they could still talk.

Emerson rolled her eyes. "Now that, I will not be assisting you with," she told him, shaking her head. She spun around on the bench to face him, a smirk falling over her face. "Did you make the bed?" She didn't really have a doubt that he had.

Copper came running down the stairs and purred as she rubbed up against Bones's leg.
"I'm gonna take her on a walk" Bones said and smiled at Emerson. "You should actually come with this time" he said, seeing as the last time really didn't end well.
Emerson shrugged, standing up from the bench and stretching. "Well, yeah, I don't exactly trust to be by myself again." She wasn't teasing, but patted Copper and took Crispin's hand. "Want to go down to the beach?" Since they hadn't the night before like they had planned.

Emerson was happily surprised by the sudden kiss, which ended too soon, but walked out with Bones anyway. "I love you too, Crispin," she replied, watching him carefully out of the corner of her eye. With amusement, she ordered a little tiny snow flurry just a few inches away from Copper, watching before laughing as the cat tried to catch it. She made the little faux ice-tornado follow the path that went down to the beach, squeezing Bones' hand as she led them down that way as well.

"That water's going to be freezing," Emerson claimed, although she fingered the top button of her shirt uncertainly. "Hm... Maybe, if you're lucky enough." She pulled her hand away from the button, smirking again. Still, she wanted to walk the sand in bare feet, so she paused at the end of the pathway to slip her boots and socks off.

"I just want to walk barefoot," Emerson stated, rolling her eyes. She glanced up after a second, slowly straightening. "Bones," she scolded, noticing his attention. She rolled her eyes again and followed after Copper down the beach.

"You are so-" Emerson just stopped, not able to contain the chuckle that escaped her lips. "Okay, okay," she said as he finally set her down. She tilted her cheek to he could kiss her again before just catching his lips with hers. "You have permission to check out my ass."

Emerson was about to make a snarky retort when Crispin cut her off with with the deeper kiss. She kept her lips parted, anyway, her eyes fluttering closed, her hand rising up to cup his face. Emerson tilted her head to deepen it even further, pulling back just a little after a few moments to catch her breath.
