"I... I was scared too," Emerson told him, closing her eyes as he rubbed her back and kissed her forehead. "Tomorrow has to be normal, because two nights from now is the raid and our decision, and I just..." She trailed off, keeping her eyes shut tight. "I wish your father had never found us."

"Oh, I'll hold it to you to make it anything but dull. Just as long as no one comes to bother us, I'll be fine." Emerson smiled, opening her eyes to look into Bones before pressing her lips lightly to his, kissing a little trail to his jaw. "I swear I'm going to murder Malachi if he comes back," she said as she paused on his neck.

Emerson chuckled, her eyes crinkling at the corner as she grinned at Bones before kissing him back. She pulled away enough to remind him, "You're the one who would have fun with that; I would probably feel guilty when he starts talking himself out of it." She kissed him again. "I honestly think he'll stay away until the next night, though. He knows how pissed you could get."

"Well." Emerson shrugged. "I won't be pissed if you do it within reason. But if you go off to just kill him in his sleep..." She trailed off, leaving Bones to figure it out. "I guess it just feels different to have you kill someone we know, even if he's annoying as hell."

Emerson seemed to pause before laughing through her nose. "I dug myself into that one," she realized aloud, brushing her nose against his. "Well, okay, let's talk about it then. Considering checking your half-naked self out again?" she asked innocently, a twinkle in her eye.

Emerson laughed even harder that time, rolling onto her back and holding a hand over her mouth. "A 'pants-off dance off'?" she repeated, her voice squeaking. "I've never heard of that before." She laughed again and closed her eyes, a wide smirk on her face. "You'll have to show me how it goes."

"So, basically, it's like the time we danced in my apartment, only naked." Emerson was still teasing, but she leaned her cheek into Bones's kiss before tilting her head to actually kiss him. "Sounds like a lot of fun." She smirked against his lips.

Emerson nodded, closing her eyes and tilting her head so she nestled in his neck. "I'll be sure to do some laundry sometime around that, promise," she told him softly, now feeling more relaxed. The shower and being with him had definitely helped, but she had apparently needed to laugh to actually calm down.

"I wonder how kindly the townsfolk will take to us starting a nude cult," Emerson joked lazily, her smiling teeth brushing against Bones' skin. "I do need to sleep, though." She breathed into his neck for a few more seconds, taking in his scent. "Good-night, Crispin," she yawned finally, closing her eyes again and drifting off.

Emerson kept close to Bones in her sleep, and a few hours later she awoke with a slight yawn, her eyes blinking a few times to clear her vision. She didn't want to wake up Bones, so she carefully slid out of his grasp and kissed his shoulder before slipping off the bed and padding downstairs to get the laundry moving along.

Emerson smirked as Bones approached her, lifting the sheets she had just pulled from the drier. "I'm taking care of the bedding, don't worry," she said, setting the sheet on top of the machine before turning back to Crispin and wrapping her arms around him. "Sleep good?"

Copper came lumbering down the stairs and dashed into the kitchen and sat down just staring at Bones and Emerson.
"Yeah, I'm good," Emerson replied, catching Bones' lips in a kiss before slipping past him and patting Copper's head. "I'll feed her," she offered over her shoulder. She did just that before lifting herself to sit up on the counter. "So, aside from pants-off dance off, I know we need to do some shopping today."

Bones chuckled and walked over to Emerson and stood in front of her. "Yeah we do, this house is sadly empty" he said with a smile. "We can have the pants off dance off when he get back" he said with a smile. "How's that sound" he asked with a smile as he ran his hands up her legs before slowly pulling her closer to him.
Emerson made a chuckle-humming noise and wrapped her legs around him loosely. "Sounds like a plan to me. Fair warning, though, I prefer to wear clothing in public. For now." She set her hands on his shoulders and pulled him in for a kiss.

"Not a physical one." Emerson shrugged and leaned over to grab a piece of paper that had an old list on it, flipping it over before deciding it wasn't necessary. "It's in my head." She smirked and tossed the paper aside with a loose shrug. "Can you think of anything we need?"

"Alright," Emerson replied, unwrapping herself from him and slipping down off the counter. "Let me get dressed first." She gestured to the shirt and bare legs she had and walked past him to go change upstairs. She came back a few minutes later in a dark gray button-up and purple skinnies, tugging on her boots at she met back up with Bones. "Ready?"

"Why, thank you. Such a gentleman," Emerson teased, climbing into the truck and buckling in. She watched him move from the passenger to driver's side, reaching to take his hand when he got in. "I think we need vodka," she told him soberly.

"Glad we agree." A smirk appeared on Emerson's face as she paid attention to the passing scenery. It was definitely a pretty town. "It will definitely make the dance off more interesting." Over the past couple months, mostly thanks to Bones, her alcohol tolerance had deepened, so it was harder for her to get drunk.

Emerson nodded, releasing Bones' hand and unbuckling. "That's basically it." She mulled it over in her head, nodding again slowly. "I can't really think of anything else, so otherwise we'll just wing it. Want to split up to get it done faster?" she asked, her hand poised on the handle of her door.

"Okay." Emerson gave a one-shoulder shrug before climbing out of the truck and meeting him to walk up to the store. She understood, and had kind of hoped he would refuse. She didn't want to be alone. She ran a hand through her hair and glanced over at him. "We wouldn't want a bloodfest in the store, right?"

"I think with the attitude that's radiating off of you, everyone but the cashier will steer clear of us," Emerson teased, giving a 'I told you so' look when someone -probably a greeter- looked at the two, narrowed her eyes, and looked away. "You're just so intimidating."

"That's a good idea," Emerson agreed, pulling a cart out of the rack. "Maybe silverware, too." She smirked and paused at a table that held a bunch of soft blankets, running a hand over it -an old habit she didn't care to drop. "Feel this," she ordered, holding it up for Bones to touch.

Emerson groaned and tossed it into the cart. "We have a comforter, but we don't have a blanket." She pushed it along again and told him over her shoulder, "And besides, I'm paying today, so you can't complain." Okay, Emerson had a thing for throw blankets. She'd make Bones understand later, hopefully. "You are so lucky you're not doing this on your own today."

"Liar," Emerson shot back, although a hand reached to pat her back pocket and she froze in the aisle, whirling to face Bones. "You're a child. If you had wanted to touch my butt you could have asked nicely, rather than having to use my wallet as a lame excuse." She crossed her arms over her chest.

Emerson's hands slowly slid from their defensive grip and rested at his hips, not able to hide the smirk that appeared on her lips. "Fine, but I'm going to get it so I can actually pay," she muttered before kissing him. "You're mean." She pulled away and turned her back on him, pretending to still be pissed.

Emerson loosed a soft breath, closing her eyes as he breathed against her skin. "Of course I do, but you'll have to make it up to me." She relaxed from her stiff posture, though, leaning into Bones' touch. "The throw blanket might do well." She smirked and leaned away enough to where she could look at the shelf past him, pretending to not be fazed by what he was doing.
