Emerson shrugged, unbuckling before facing Bones. "I'm not sure. I want to get settled in and look a little closer around the place." She leaned over and pecked him on the cheek, gently brushing away a curl from his face before reaching into the back to grab a couple of the bags.
((Whoops. She was supposed to return to question but I'm so out of it right now and can't edit because i'm on mobile. Sorry!!))

The way Bones walked reminded Emerson to ask him something, so she set down the few bags she held and stopped in front of him. "How are you feeling? Are you still healing up?" she questioned, gesturing to his chest and side.

Emerson moved past the bags he had set down to look at the wounds, gently brushing her fingers around them. "If you're sure... I did bring my medic bag with us." She smiled up at him and stood up straight, though she kept her hand on him for a moment longer than necessary. "I'll go get my other bags."

"That's what you think, huh?" Emerson chuckled, breathing softly into Crispin's chest as he kissed her neck. "Instead of working at the lighthouse, I could just get a job at the hospital. Unless you just like seeing me worried about you," she joked back, though her cheeks were hot. She angled her neck a little easier for him to reach before sighing quietly.

Emerson smiles at Bones' muffled voice against her neck, and leaned her forehead on his chest, wrapping her arms around him. "Then I'll stay away from the hospital," she replied softly, closing her eyes as she listened to his breathing. "And anywhere else that might have wounded people."

Emerson brought her hand up to cup Bones' jaw, kissing him back before pulling away after a moment. "I'll go take care of that, then," she informed him, opening her eyes to look up at him. She dropped her hands from his side and face and turned, picking up the bag of fruit to bring into the kitchen. She set it down on the counter and returned to the back hallway, grabbing her bag and the bedding to bring upstairs.

Emerson ha first found Copper dozing on the bed in te guest room, as she was curious to where the hellcat had gone, but then she went to the bedroom and set her couple bags in the corner. She opened the dark blue sheet set and easily set that up, but realized they had forgotten pillows, and put that on her list of things to do the next day. She set the pillow cases aside and was tucking in the comforter when Bones walked in. "So, I forgot about getting pillows, but this looks nice, right?" She gestured to the bed.

"I would say we could go an file a report at the police or sheriff's station, but I know your finger prints are on it," Emerson teased back, sitting down next to Bones and leaning her head on his shoulder. "Perhaps Abernathy would explode if she knew she had to deal with us further because of it." She smirked and took a deep breath. "Sometimes I wonder what makes people automatically judge others."

"Only if you were to report it after you get the keys tomorrow." Emerson pulled her head from Bones' shoulder and laid back on the bed with a soft sigh. "Because otherwise you would be asked why you were messing with the door before. You might get asked why you would touch it after noticing the lock was broken, anyway," she informed him, tugging on the end of her braid. She pulled the tie out and slowly unbraided her hair, closing her eyes.

"Mm-hmm," Emerson replied with a short nod, lifting her head to finish unbraiding. "She's in on the guest bed," she told him, opening an eye to look at Bones. She combed her fingers through her hair. "She didn't even wake up when I came in, but I'm sure when she figured out you're in here, she'll come." She rolled over to face Bones. "Want me to feed her?" she offered.

"Mm-kay." Emerson leaned to gently kiss Bones before pushing herself up. "I'll be right back, then." She walked out of the room and downstairs, easily finding Copper's food and dish and poured a big bowl for the Mngwa. She chuckled as she heard big paws padding from upstairs, and she let the cat brush against her hip as she passed her and headed back to the bedroom. "All done," she said as she climbed up and sat next to Bones, pretzeling her legs.

"Yeah." Emerson smiled when Bones met her eyes, and took his hand in one of hers, the other drawing circles and such on his arm. "It's been a long day, huh?" Though it wasn't exactly a question. She leaned forward a little and smirked.

"Then go and do that," Emerson replied with a soft wink. "I'll get my pajamas on." She was pretty tired anyway, as she hadn't gotten much sleep for a couple nights. She brought his hand up to her face and kissed his knuckles before standing and finding her bag to rifle through.

Emerson laughed through her nose as she found some shorts and a long-sleeved t-shirt to wear, stripping from her jeans and button-up into her pajamas. With a sigh of exhaustion she decided to unload her clothes into the closet the next day (they would need to buy hangers anyway) before pulling back the blanket from the bed and climbing up to sit on it. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the wall, listening to the sound of the water running in the bathroom as she hummed.

Emerson warily peeked an eye at Bones before nodding and closing her eye in peace. "Trust me, there's a really long list of everything we need to get tomorrow that I've made in my head," she informed him softly, her voice ragged from sleepiness. "Pillows, towels, hangers." She groaned as she thought of something else. "Coffee."

Emerson heard the ruffling of Crispin across the room but didn't open her eyes again, instead just waiting for him to climb in before nestling in next to him, draping her arm over his bare chest. A second later she asked, "Did you just strip down in front of me?"

"I'm aware that we're married, Randy," Emerson shot back, still not able to picture him as a 'Randy'. "You're just lucky my eyes were closed." She smirked, nuzzling her cheek to his soft chest, breathing him in for a second. "Or else you would have had one hell of a lecture," her words muffled.

"If you're so impressive then why are you so 'open'?" Emerson replied. If she had her eyes open she would have been rolling them, but she was at least used to Bones' self-rightousness. She relaxed at his touch and sighed quietly, now actually opening her blue eyes to reach up and kiss him gently. "Think of poor Copper," she said once she had pulled away.

"Oh my- Crispin, you do know that you would get arrested for walking around town like that, right? I hope you know that." Emerson huffed and laid her head back on his chest, again doing the thing where she drew circles on his skin. "For the sake of Mr. and Mrs. Malloy's reputation, don't do it."

"Is that a pass at me, or yourself?" Emerson whispered with a short laugh. "Maybe you should marry yourself." She looked up at him, though, her hand paused and fingers splayed across his skin.

"Bummer: I would want to be your best woman in the wedding ceremony." The angel smiled though. "It's a good thing we don't have close-by neighbors, because at any moment of the day they could look through our windows and see you strutting around." She chuckled, continuing with the circles onto his stomach. "You have to do a lot more than that for Katherine or I, though. Like a male peacock, right?"

Emerson laughed harder this time. "I'm holding you to that promise," she said, though she rolled her eyes. She closed them again and the circling slowed. "I'm glad we're here safely," she whispered after waiting a beat. "But mostly I'm glad we're together."

"Well, you've never hit me, so that's really attractive, from what I've found." Emerson had meant it to come out as snarky, but it ended up as self-pitying and pathetic. She rolled over, pulling Bones' arm so it was still wrapped around her but that she could also use it as a pillow. "Also, I seem to have genuine good feelings for you, so that may be it as well."

"I'll be holding you to that promise as well," Emerson told him after pulling back from his kiss. She met his lips again, tilting her head up and bring her hand to hold the side of his face. After a moment she pulled away only to press her forehead to his, breathing softly.
