"Oh... You've never told me about someone" Jamie says a bit confused
"Its probably never going to be anything..." she said quietly
"Oh" Jamie says looking at her she looked at her eyes and smiled " I hope it does if you really want it to "
"Its always felt right to me, but I cant read minds." She said
"Oh "she s Amy's looking at the bed again she knew how she felt about her was wrong why wouldn't it just go away
"Ylu wanna know who it is?" She asked, breathing heavily
" yes" Jamie says quickly " I mean I guess"
"Ok. Well, shes gorgeous, and yes, its a she. Shes known me for forever, and we do almost everything together. Her smile lights up my world, and I think im in love with her."
" oh that's..nice" she says not taking the hint
"Shit Jamie, its you.." she said, flustered that she didnt get it.
She looked up at her blushing"im sorry Kayleigh but if don't feel the same way" she says lying
"Oh. Thanks." She said, hurt. She started to tear up, and she got up off the bed. "Out. Get out of my room. Get out of my house." She said, breaking into full tears
"Fuck you"she says grabbing her stuff and pushing her Out of the way she ran out of the house and started crying she ran all the way home and up to her room
The next day, Kayleigh got up and put on a sundress and flip flops just brishing her hair out. She grabbed her keys, and drove to school, skipping the morning phone call with Jamie.
Jamie stayed in bed all day crying skipping school she started typing a message to Kayleigh Phew I'm sorry I should have told you...I love you to
She left it in the messages d turned her phone off not realizing she pressed send
Kayleigh opened her phone, in the middle of science class. She read it and smiled. She left class and drove to Jamies house, ringing the doorbell.
Jamie was asleep in her bed but you could tell fresh tears were streaming down her face . Her mom got the door and let her in
Kayleigh ran upstairs and slipped into Jamies room, sitting on her bed gently. She brushed the hair out of her face. She hummed the lullaby they listened to as young children, hoping to wake her up
Jamie woke up after a bit her face was turned so she couldn't see her " mom?" Jamie says quietly " I told you I don't want to talk about it"
Kayleigh laughed. "Its not your mom..." she smiled, leaning up against the wall
She looked at her " what ar you doing here don't put have class?"
"Yeah but you texted me so I ditched. "
She showed her the text. " I promise, you did..."
Jamie looks at her phone and then at her she smiles a bit
"I thought it was wrong to like a girl .."
"Everybody is different, its not illegal you know."
" but it seems wrong I have always thought that my parents would hate me everybody would hate me..."
"If they really love you, theyll accept you..."
" but what if they don't " Jamie says her eyes start watering a bit " I feel like everybody already hates me"
"Hey come here." She said pulling her into a hug. "Nobody hates you."
Cage smiles and pulls away she looks into her eyes
She smiles anther and leans back in her bed blushing
Kayleigh watched her as she looked sad. She put her arm around her waist and leaned in to kiss her, quickly and unexpectedly
After the kids was over Jamie opened her mouth to say something but stopped and leaned in to kiss her back her mom walked in " Jamie!!!"
Kayleigh jumped back. "Holt shit." She said covering her mouth and standing up
" mom..." Jamie say " that is extremely inappropriate" her mom said " I want you out and I never wanna see you again" she says to Kayleigh pointing downstaris
"But im in love with her, does that even matter?!" Kayleigh said slowly walking to the door
" no it doesn't " her mom says still pointing " Kayleigh" Jamie says " I'm sorry"
"I cant believe this." She said running down the stairs and going to cry in her moms arms
"God mom " she says pushing past her mom and running down tokayleigh
"No jamie, you obviously werent lying about your mom. Gender shouldnt matter, love is love! " she practically yelled
Kayleigh fell into her, hugging her tight. "I love you" she whispered to her
"I love you" Jamie says " we should go somewhere "
"Sneak out later. Come over to my house. My mom is off on a busibess trip..." she said tentatively
" ok"she staysHer mom cLalls her name
" I haven't o go" she runs up stairs
