The cover certainly caught my eye at Barnes & Noble and after reading the back cover, it sounded interesting enough. Although reading this book at work was difficult (I work at a middle school). However, parts of it tended to drag, and it did not show the "hippie" culture in a very positive light. There weren't many characters with redeemable qualities, and I felt that the author wrote in a lot of stereotypes and prejudices for specific characters (women, minorities, etc). In my opinion, there should have been stronger female and minority characters. 2/5
