Humanizing a Prophet

In The First Muslim: The Story of Muhammad, Lesley Hazleton attempts to depict Muhammad as a multi-layered and multi-dimensional man, ultimately humanizing him. Given the number of conflicting accounts -- from religious to political -- do you think a humanizing depiction can be an accurate one?

This is how I relate to Muhammad, as a human, so yes, I find this to be a wonderful approach and very real. I look forward to reading this book.
