message 51: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((So re any of the others getting taken as well or just these two?))

She didn't reply that time, just biting her lip anxiously as she waited for them to finish and leave. Her and Ander could go back and get their deer and everything could go on as usual.

message 52: by Giulia (new)

Giulia ((Just these two))

'Avery, Avery they're coming our way. Directly, like they've seen us,' he told her, his mental voice even trembling as they hurried in their direction. He grabbed her arm and began to back away from their hiding spot, not caring if they made any more noise since they were spotted.

message 53: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) What how? Do those things give them vision like yours? She was quickly backing away with him. she could hear them now. We need to run

message 54: by Giulia (new)

Giulia 'I don't understand, just run!' He didn't want to turn his back on the men but it would be the only way they could run fast so he scrambled to his feet and darted with adrenaline pumping, into the forest with his sister. He watched for a decent hiding spot but with the newfound vision the soldiers had, he didn't know how they would hide.

message 55: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She ran, keeping the pace with her brother. What are we going to do? She asked, more than a hint of fear creeping into her mental voice. Suddenly she felt something hit her shoulder and she cried out stumbling. Another hit to her back and she fell. "Ander!" She shouted, aloud this time.

message 56: by Giulia (new)

Giulia He twisted around in horror, hearing his sister call out to him as she fell. He didn't have any offensive or defensive powers or weapons such as theirs, but as he always promised to himself, they'd stay together no matter what. Ander rushed back to her side and used her bow and arrows to ward off the nearest soldiers. 'Avery, can you stand?' he asked frantically.

message 57: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She tried to push herself back to her feet, but the two shots from the tranquilizer were slowing her movements. She was close to passing out right there. Go. She told him, falling back down.

message 58: by Giulia (new)

Giulia 'No Avery, stay awake,' he insisted, freeing one hand to shake her back into consciousness, but he found it to be impossible with the sedative taking action. He went through all the logical steps they had before them - he could quietly go with them to protect her, or go down fighting. There was no way they'd escape, but he figured capture with her was better than trying to get them both killed in a pointless escape. He therefore set down the weapons and hovered over his sister protectively as the men approached.

message 59: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Avery tried to fight to stay awake but soon enough she was out completely, unaware of the men getting closer.

When they arrived at where the girl had fallen and the boy standing over her, another one of the men signaled to the others before he raised his tranqqulizer gun as well, firing a couple shots at the boy while they were still a little ways away.

message 60: by Giulia (new)

Giulia Ander also felt the sharp stabs on his back and fell into a crouch. Soon, the tranquilliser took effect and he passed out beside his sister. The soldiers approach and stood to see if they both were unconscious.
"These are the two we need?" one asked through a fuzzy intercom.
"That's what the commander said. The pair that were messing with the electromagnetic signatures," the one in charge said, indicating they needed to be bound and transported back into the inside.

Luna was just eating her breakfast when a shrill bell rung through the dining hall, putting a pause to all eating activity.
"All students to the presentation hall, immediately," their usual voice announced, sending the younger children into a flurry of excitement. They had never been called for an urgent assembly before.

message 61: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "Maybe we'll finally find out just how they're doing it." Another said, binding the girl and carrying her to one secure area on the hovercraft and the boy to another.

Tyler frowned a bit, wondering what all the excitement was about, but he was definitely curious too. He quickly threw the trash from his meal away as he went with the rest of the crowd to the presentation hall. The seat he ended up in happened to be right next to Luna. "Any idea what this might be about?" He muttered to her.

message 62: by Giulia (new)

Giulia "I heard the CAGE wanted to find the source of their power and extend it to the force field," another offered before their commander shut them up. "We're just hunt and retrieve. No need for this talk. Everyone, on the hovercraft." Ander was dragged in and put alongside his sister before they locked up the hatch and headed back to the city.

Luna found her way next to Tyler in the buzzing hall as they awaited an explanation for the summoning. "None at all, but I'm eager to know. It's probably either a moment of great celebration or great tragedy," she inputted.

message 63: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((I had actually had them separate ander and Avery but either way works XD))

The soldier mentally grumbled but got back on the hovercraft. Later him and the others could talk about just what these two could do.

Tyler nodded. "Maybe." He said. That would be a reason to gather them all here and of the ideas that had crossed his mind that was the only real explanation that made sense.

message 64: by Giulia (new)

Giulia ((Oh sorry! My skimming failed me this time. I was thinking to put them in separate cells once inside anyway))

The hovercraft hurried back into the city, passing through the forcefield and landing in the cell block courtyard where the handover to the government authorities would occur. In charge was a woman with a sharp, elevated bob and steely gray eyes. She waited as they retrieved Avery and Ander, the small badge on her white shirt indicating she was a scientist with the CAGE.

The hall was hushed when their school master stepped up on the stage, lifting his hands for silence.
"Today is a momentous occasion in the history of the city. But I won't keep you. Listen carefully to this breaking news presentation." He stepped aside and the projection screen lowered. A news clip was placed on, with a woman reading the daily news - new vaccination laws, new ration tickets...

message 65: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((It's fine. I do it all the time.))

One of the soldiers came out, carrying a limp Avery. Both of them had been given another Sedative right before they landed so neither would wake up during the move. "Where do you want them for now Ma'am?" He asked, coming to a halt in front of the woman.

Blah, blah blah.... Tyler thought as all the normal news played. He didn't see how any of this would account for the breaking news. This wouldn't be enough to gather them all together. What was up?

message 66: by Giulia (new)

Giulia She inspected Avery quietly and when she didn't spot anything outwardly strange about the girl, she replied.
"Cell T2098. And the other in T2099. Hurry now, I need to draft the statement for the president." The other men pulled Ander out and he was inspected as well. "Twins. I should have realised," she remarked before they carried him away as well. The CAGE would be very pleased indeed.

Suddenly, a breaking news headline crashed onto the main page, taking the woman by surprise.
"This just in - we're receiving news that an Outsider has been successfully captured and is on its way into the city! Yes, yes, an Outsider has been caught - no, two! Two outsiders!" The hall burst into gasps and began whispering to each other. Luna couldn't help but open her mouth in shock. They were almost myths to the children in the compound. "Outsiders..." she murmured, turning to Tyler.

message 67: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) The soldier carried her inside and put her in the indicated cell, typing in a passcode to open the door. Other than the door, which just had one small window and a slot in it, the walls were solid and thick. They'd been made to be able to withstand different powers. The soldier ly her on the bed before leaving, the door clicking locked behind him.

Tyler's eyes widened. Outsiders? They were actually real? He glanced over at Luna. Okay. So maybe things weren't going to be as boring around the city. "This is.....it's unreal." He said quietly.

message 68: by Giulia (new)

Giulia They did the same for Ander, putting him in the cell opposite Avery's. The woman followed them and watched as the passcodes were typed and the doors were locked. "The cells are soundproof?" she questioned and the cell guard shook his head. "Good. I want to hear what they plan. The chip and camera are in place?" A nod. "Good. The head of CAGE will be down shortly with me to inspect them."

"This is..." she began, wondering how this happened. So many years they had avoided capture, what was different now? "They are currently being held for a two week quarantine. The president will release a statement shortly." The woman's news reading was fractured as she received scattered news in short bursts. At the end of the transmission, she had said nothing new and certainly nothing about what would happen to them after the quarantine.

message 69: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Slowly the sedatives were starting to wear off and Avery was starting to come to though she was still mostly out of it. She was smaller than her brother so they were harder to get over. Her head was still fuzzy and her limbs felt heavy.

Tyler had turned his head back to the screen when the woman began speaking again. This was sure to be on the TVs all the time, especily during the quarantine right? They'd be kept updated on this? He hoped so. It was the first interesting thing to happen in forever.

message 70: by Giulia (last edited Jul 07, 2015 07:56PM) (new)

Giulia Ander awoke as well, shaking his head as the closed room spun. In all their lives, Outsiders had never lived in such confined and inorganic quarters. He was starting to feel claustrophobic as he attempted to get up. The first attempts led him to fall about, but when he finally got to the door, he started banging against it. Where was his sister? 'Avery?' he called.

"What is the point of keeping an Outsider?" Luna wondered out loud. "What would we need with one? As a circus pony?" The hall was dismissed and they needed to return to their daily schedules. There was still a bit of time to talk before classes began.

message 71: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((What do you think, should they be able to communicate or no?))

Tyler shrugged. "Are the stories that they have abilities true? Maybe they want to test that and see?" He suggested. It was weird to think that there was not only one but two outsiders now in their city.

message 72: by Giulia (new)

Giulia ((Oh well you mentioned above that their powers were contained by the cells but I would prefer if they could communicate. It'd ruin the woman's plan to listen in on their convo))

"I'd want to see that as well..." she murmured, thoughts going off to the pair. "But as usual, information will be filtered through by the compound. Who knows when will be the next time we hear anything?" As they spoke, the tutor of science came walking down the hall. He spotted the pair and diverted his path to join them.

message 73: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((Most powers. I was thinking like elemental, they're strong so like Avery couldn't throw anything and dent wall. They probably didn't prepare for this because they don't know about telepaths? Maybe only twins are, and even then only ike 1/100 set o twins has the ability?))

"I'd be interested too." Tyler said straightening as one of the tutors, one of the ones he'd had for many of his classes came over. "Dr. Frece." He greeted.

message 74: by Giulia (new)

Giulia ((Oh okay great. I'll change my post. Telepath away!))

"Luna, Tyler. You are both aspiring medical and science students, are you not?" Dr. Frece asked between the pair of them. "Yes, I think we both are," Luna replied. "Good, because I have an exciting short placement for talented students of your kind," he offered.

message 75: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Avery was still waking up but when she heard her brother's voice she quickly sat up, her head spinning more. Oay bad idea. Ander? She shakily got to her feet and using the wall for support made her way to the door. She saw him, hating that they were separated. At least they could communicate but they had never really been separate.

"Yes sir." Tyler nodded, interested to see what he had to say. Sometimes senior students got placements before they officially graduated, but it didn't happen all the time.

message 76: by Giulia (new)

Giulia 'Where are you? Are you alright?' he asked, checking to see if there was any opening in which he could see through. The featureless concrete wall seemed thick and dense, with a ceiling of false light overhead.

"Who with?" Luna questioned. "Several organisations are interested in the minds of our intelligent youth. I've got places in Medipharma, at Sun Medical, even at the Centre for Anomalous Genetic Engineering, known as CAGE to you young folks," he said excitedly.

message 77: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) I'm fine. I'm in a small rom. I-I don't know."She was breathing a bit fast. the small, closed in area freaking her out a bit. what are we going to do?

At CAGE Tyler's eyes widened again. He'd dreamed of working for CAGE but only the best of the best were given positions there. Dr. Frece really thought they were good enough for CAGE? "I-If CAGE really is n option sir I'd love to try it."

message 78: by Giulia (new)

Giulia 'Me too, me too. We can't be too far from each other, our telepathic reach doesn't go that far,' he concluded, trying to stay positive. 'I wish I could see you. I hope everyone at our camp survived.'

"How many interns can you take?" Luna asked, her eyes widening as well at the opportunity. "Can we chose our place of employment?" Dr. Fece shook his head. "It's a max two person limit per possibility. I'm the one who has to shortlist your placements. Luna, I was thinking of putting you with the Medi Bureau and Tyler, CAGE was where I was planning to place you." Luna's smile fell. Medical administration?! That was impossibly boring!

message 79: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) I don't know. I hope so. But if they caught us....what if they have the others?

Tyler grinned to hear he was being placed in Cage, but his face fell at Luna's expression. "Excuse me sir, but surley even CAGE needs medics for some things?" He said, trying to see if he might be able to get Luna there too. It didn't hurt to try.

message 80: by Giulia (last edited Jul 08, 2015 10:45PM) (new)

Giulia It was hard to remain optimistic with that scenario in mind. 'Let's just focus on escaping then. Do you see anything that could help you in your room? I can't use my vision for now, I still feel too woozy to get it under control.'

"It'll be you and Guidon Vickers at CAGE Tyler, I've decided. They need lab assistants and after I told them your exemplary neurology skills, they wanted you immediately. As for your Luna, there is much to learn in the administration of medical documents. I have thought long and hard about this, and I must insist you trust me." Luna was thankful Tyler tried, seeing he was a favourite of Dr. Fece's, but her fate was sealed. "I still thank you for the opportunity."

message 81: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "Thank you Dr. Frece. I'd love the opportunity to work with CAGE." He said honestly, excited about it, though he wished he could have helped Luna. Her assignment just sounded boring. He glanced again in her direction.

Nothing. She said. Her head was also still too woozy to use her powers. Maybe after that she could try throwing the bed at the door? It ws big enough to be t the edge of her powers but she was going to try it. She was scared. not sure what to expect from the Insiders.

message 82: by Giulia (new)

Giulia "My pleasure. Report to me at the end of the day and we'll talk more seriously about the application. Until then children." He continued on his way past them. Luna folded her arms and looked up to Tyler. "Well done on your position," she said, trying to keep the frustration from her voice.

'Wait, wait, I'm getting something,' he told her, his vision flickering on like a light. 'Avery, I see you! You're across some corridor from me, in another room. Right opposite,' he exclaimed, hurrying to the door and banging on it again. 'I don't see anyone else.'

message 83: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "Thank you again Dr. Frece." Tyler said to him before he left, then glanced t Luna. "Thanks....and who knows, maybe you'll get some interesting cases at yours."

She went back up the door, banging on it too. What are we going to do? There were no guards right outside the doors but there were some posted at either end of the hall. They ignored the bangs, waiting for their superior to come examine the Outsiders.

message 84: by Giulia (new)

Giulia "Let's see then. What do you think you'll be doing at CAGE? Their newest research?" she asked, wanting to divert the topic from her situation. She would have to keep an open mind with her task, and hope to find some joy in the monotonous filing work.

'What are they going to do with us? Do we just have to wait?' Ander asked Avery, sliding down with his back against the door and his legs sprawled out before him. The bed seemed so hard and cold compared to the forest floor and their woollen pallets back outside.

message 85: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "I'm not sure. I hope so. I doubt I'd get to see the Outsiders when I first start though. I wouldn't be surprised if it's only the higher-ups involved in that." Still....working for CAGE was bound to be interesting.

I don't know...I guess? We're trapped. There's nothing we can do to get out of here. She slid down the wall as well. Her motions so similar to that of her twin. She was scared. She wanted to go home.

message 86: by Giulia (new)

Giulia "And do you think they offer interns full positions upon graduation?" Luna continued, beginning to walk to their classes. The halls were filling up with older students who hurried to their numbered room, all uniform in clothes and approved hair cuts.

'Do they plan to feed us? Or is starvation a form of torture for our information?' he wondered darkly to her. 'We will say nothing,' he stated, half asking, half talking to himself.

message 87: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "I don't know. I hope so. I mean, CAGE. I never thought I'd get a position there." He said as he walked towards his class, the same direction her's was in.

We won't tell them anything. She wouldn't say anything to them at all if she didn't have to.

message 88: by Giulia (new)

Giulia Guidon was walking in their direction when he ran into them. "Hey Tyler, congrats," he said with a big smile, equally pleased to be part of the best scientific organisation in the city. "Hey Luna. I heard you got Evelyn Morgan with you."

The woman returned with a man, her superior in an equally crisp suit and the CAGE badge on his pocket. The guards stood and saluted them into the prison cell block. 'Avery, I see people coming,' Ander reported, scrambling onto his feet.

message 89: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Avery tensed, swallowing nervously. What did these people want? Why were they taken? What was going on? Are they coming toward me or you? She questioned, going closer to the door again and trying to get a view but couldn't.

"Thanks. You too." Tyler smiled at Guidon. He then frowned slightly as he heard about Evelyn. He didn't really like her. She'd always seemed to be rude and stuck up to him. He didn't really see how her personality fit the job she'd be doing, but her grades must be good.

message 90: by Giulia (new)

Giulia 'They haven't chosen a direction. We're both in danger,' he insisted, walking away from the door. He checked double hard for a way out, and saw a square air vent above him. 'Avery, look on top.' he told her hurriedly. "The haven't said anything we can record yet. I don't know if they understand our language. They haven't attempted to contact each other."

"Great, I'm sure she's very happy about her position as well," Luna said, wondering if her luck could get any worse that day. Though, it was probably not good to hark more bad luck on herself with that thought. "You'll certainly be very popular in the dorms tonight," she remarked. "Everyone will want to hear about CAGE."

message 91: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((Hmm.....don't think I want them getting out.))

Avery quickly looked up, her heart pounding. She saw it. How can we get up there though? And where would it lead? Ander what can we do?

He winced in sympathy for who she would be working with. "Yeah...I wonder when we even start?" He looked at Guidon to see if he had any idea or if they'd find out later from Dr. Frece.

message 92: by Giulia (last edited Jul 11, 2015 09:28PM) (new)

Giulia ((They won't be don't worry. I mean it's reinforced so it can withstand physical pulling, which is what Avery's telekinetic powers allow her to do. Plus, these guys are coming.))

'Can you open it at least?' Ander wondered, hearing their voices. The man nodded and stopped between the doors.
"Which one is the girl?" he questioned and the woman pointed out Avery's door. They approached it and the woman slid aside a strip of the door to show a glass plane between their eyes and Avery.

"No idea. We'll get to know when we get there, won't we? I heard we start next week if everything goes well," Guidon said optimistically, putting his arm around Tyler's shoulders.

message 93: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Avery was about to try when she heard something coming from the direction of the door. Seeing them there she froze, her eyes wide, slightly panicked as she looked at them.

((Going to switch to app an probably head to bed soon. Will probably only reply to like one rp instead of all while on app. Probably this one ))

message 94: by Giulia (last edited Jul 13, 2015 06:53PM) (new)

Giulia ((No problem. Btw I edited my last comment to add also Luna and Tyler's part.))

They gazed at her mildly. "She looks like a cornered animal," he remarked. "One can expect her to. We should see if she understands us," he commanded and the woman nodded with pursed lips. 'Avery,' Ander called, going back to the door to see with his vision. 'Be careful.'

message 95: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((If the doors aren't soundproof won't Ander be able to hear them too?))

message 96: by Giulia (new)

Giulia ((I mean I figured that they don't understand the language? Ander thought maybe their gestures told Avery of what they meant to say to her?))

message 97: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((I mean if they don't understand it would make everything bit harder. What if the basic language is the same, but of course Ander and Avery wouldn't understand a lot of the more technical stuff.))

message 98: by Giulia (new)

Giulia ((So they'll understand basic words then I guess...this is such a typical writing realistic issue. I'll make the Insiders a bit more wise onto their language since one expects such an important organisation to know about these sorts of thing.))

message 99: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((I think they'd understand what they had said at the door at least. ))

message 100: by Giulia (new)

Giulia ((Alright then, I'll that then))
