Abby Has anyone here seen either movie version of this classic book? Has anyone read it? What are your thoughts?

``Laurie (laurielynette) I saw the 1990's movie The Last of the Mohicans and fell absolutely in love with this movie. I can't even begin to count the number of times I re-watched it either.

I bought the video and soundtrack album too and wore them both out. One of the best action/adventure movies I've ever seen with such beautiful scenery and one of the best love stories ever.

After seeing the movie I then began to read the Leatherstocking Tales. I found the books interesting and learned so much about this historical era.
They might not be the easiest books to read but should be enjoyable for any history buffs in this group who might be interested.

I also bought the Masterpiece Theatre version of Last of the Mohicans and loved it too. Even though this was apparently filmed on a soundstage this version was very realistic and I would highly recommend this very well done miniseries.

LOTM is one of my all time favorite movies and also one I very highly recommend.

Abby I have not read the books myself, but I absolutely love the 1990's movie version, and the soundtrack is so moving and dramatic; it's one of my favorites!

``Laurie (laurielynette) One of the greatest soundtracks I've ever heard, I'm surprised it's not more well known. The composer should have won an Academy Award for this movie soundtrack.

It's difficult sometimes to find a movie with a decent love story but this one was so romantic.

"Gulls, Gulls, why did ye disobey me?" Still use that line on my wife and daughter. Love that movie as well. Great cast. And Clannad (from the soundtrack) was one of the CDs my wife listened to while in labor almost 18 years ago now. Such a gorgeous tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX_CC...

``Laurie (laurielynette) Thanks for the link Don, I love that song. I just wish the LOTM soundtrack had included the complete song.

This action/adventure/love story/ movie had such a fast pace that I was completely immersed while watching. So few movies are able to accomplish that unfortunately.
