Since members have been telling me that they prefer a schedule to keep up to date on the group reads, I will keep one here. I would like to schedule more votes only to keep ahead of schedule. Members have said that they would like to have advance notice of who would be in a group read so this should help.
In any case, I would like to have a vote from November 20 - December 20th on starting on Monday if people would like that. Below is the schedule in any case. It is subject to change but I will try to give you as much notice as possible.
Hope that everyone is excited as I am about all the new authors that are coming up for votes in the near future.

Dead Simple (Roy Grace, #1) by Peter James Edwin of the Iron Shoes by Marcia Muller Phantom Instinct by Meg Gardiner Stay A Novel by Victor Gischler Long Gone by Alafair Burke

June 20-July 20th - Dead Simple By Peter James
July 20- August 20th - Edwin Of The Iron Shoes by Marcia Muller
August 20 - September 20th - Phantom Instinct by Meg Gardiner
September 20 - October 20 - Stay by Victor Gischler
October 20 - November 20 - Long Gone by Alafair Burke

Icewineanne | 85 comments Loved "Dead Simple", it's one of the few I stayed up late to read :-)
Looking forward to reading the others this summer/fall. Many thanks Ron!

I'll have to start reading it soon as well. Looking forward to hearing your comments and questions when Peter James joins us.
I'll be interested in seeing who you're voting for for the November 20 - December 20 group read as well.

message 6: by Icewineanne (new)

Icewineanne | 85 comments Thrilled to be able to participate. Peter James writes terrific mystery/thrillers.
Hey - can we vote for more than 1 author? Hee Hee

message 7: by Sharon Louise (new)

Sharon Louise Hi, I've read No2 in the Peter James 'Dead' series, so this will be a good reason to start at the beginning of the series!

Sharon, I found the 1st book to be much better than the 2nd, so if you liked that one, you will just love Dead Simple.

Glad to hear it. Dead Simple seems like a good book. I'm looking forward to reading it and hearing Peter James' comments and answers to our questions. I'm curious to know how he came up with such a unique plot.

Meant to say thanks for joining us in our group read this month. It's great to have a new member jump right in. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Unfortunately, I can't clarify if Marcia Muller will join us for a group read for July 20. Until this is cleared up, I will be moving Mag Gardiner up to July 20-August 20 for our next group read. If something changes with Marcia Muller, I will have her in for August 20th. Sorry for doing this on short notice.

Love Meg Gardiner. Have read all of hers.

Mary Beth | 179 comments I am reading Mission Canyon right now and love it. I like Meg Gardiner a lot.

Hmmmm..........wouldn't classify him as a "horror" author.........thriller, yes.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 2290 comments That was the first time I read that Peter james book

Marcia Muller will be joining us for a group read. I am in the process of setting up a new date. I'll have an announcement for the August 20 - September 20 book shortly.

message 20: by Icewineanne (new)

Icewineanne | 85 comments The definition of horror is "an intense feeling of fear" and "painful feeling of loathing and fear; terrified and revolted shuddering".

In my opinion, Peter James' works do not fit in this category.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

As you know, we have an opening for August 20th - September 20th for our group read since I moved Meg Gardiner up. Since there was so much enthusiasm for our last vote for Little Black Lies by Sharon Bolton, I thought that it would be best to have her in this slot. She'll actually be joining us on August 22nd because she will be away on a trip so I hope everyone is pleased by this news.
In any case, I'll schedule a new vote for a group read for November 20 - December 20th at a later date.

Marcia Muller will be here for a group read but at a later date. Trying to schedule that. I will let you know when that is done. Sorry for the change on that.

message 23: by Icewineanne (new)

Icewineanne | 85 comments Rats! Won't be able to participate because the book isn't released in Canada until Aug 25th :-(

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

The group read starts on August 20th. I don't think you would lose much time unless you want to consider Kindle or Nook?

message 25: by Icewineanne (last edited Jul 22, 2015 10:34PM) (new)

Icewineanne | 85 comments Thanks for the suggestion Ron.

I have an ipad with kindle loaded onto it, but I find it really strains my eyes when I try to read a book using it. I have started a few books, but always drop them after a couple of chapters & seek out the paper copy.

Will do my best to find a copy of one of her older books so that I can participate in the discussion :-)

Sounds good.

Actually, the group read for November will be a book by David Morrell. This is the book I'm reading. You can choose a different book if you want for David Morrell. He'll be there to answer questions and since he has written so many great books, I thought this would be a different group read that is worth a try. I'll put up a list of recommendations since I have read all of David Morrell's books.

Kristi Belcamino (wwwgoodreadscomkristibelcamino) Great choice! I was completely star struck when I met him at Bouchercon in October!
