In fact, Trisha, I rated that book 0 star, lol. I even created a new shelf just for it. I don't excuse inaccurate portrayal of mental illness, especially the way it was handled in this book. For anyone unfamilliar with schizophrenia, this seems to be worth a raving review though, so yeah... I guess your enjoying of this book will come down to your level of familiarity with mental illness and mental institutions. Oh, and brain trauma. Lol
Yikes. Your review really makes me nervous to read this one.I kind of want to pass if it's a bad portrayal of mental illness - which I think is awful and hurtful to a whole community that has enough prejudice and incorrect labeling and stigma to it.

I have SO many books to read that I don't mind skipping it. I know Jacque especially loves reading this genre, books about mental illness. If you want to bow out I'm okay doing that. If I (we) decide to give it a shot later, we can always do that.I don't have the book either. I didn't find Clementine's review.
Okay, Trisha, I found it and I agree that we should dump it. I am impressed with your knowledge, Clementine. The reason I am going to dump it is that your anger is so evident, and the points that you make in your review are so valid (not that I know anything, but obviously you do), and your PASSION for how inaccurately schizophrenia is portrayed leaves me with no choice but to say F-it, too!

That's okay about the F-bombs. It helped me see how truly upset you are about its (book's) inaccuracies.
Yeah, I actually just returned it. It stinks that it is an inaccurate portrayal. :(
