The False Prince has been on my to-read list for quite a while. I was excited that I finally got the chance to read this great book, I loved it from the beginning and will certainly read the full trilogy. I love mysteries, and even though this isn't a mystery, it doesn't tell you everything up front. The author weaves a great tale. Every character's back story has a significant impact on how the characters interact with each other. This Young Adult novel contains a great mix of a little love, betrayal, friends, scoundrels, and swords. For the most part, Jennifer Nielsen's story was fairly unpredictable. It is a book that kept me guessing what would happen and how the characters would react. The story is about Sage. He is an orphan, a thief, stubborn, lying and conniving. He is living at Mrs. Turbeldy's orphanage. He is bought by Bevin Conner to compete against fellow orphans, Rodan, Tobias, and Latamer, for a competition of who can pass as a nobleman. Neilsen kept the story going at a good pace. It was fun trying to figure out who could be trusted, and who would be back stabbing at the first chance they got.
