Do I have to read the first book?

My mother got me the book Where She Went by Gayle Forman and i wasn't sure if i should read the first book or just jump right into the series. i saw the movie and i don't know if there is anything different in the book. So yeah!

You should read If i stay first, it is really great, and it gives you a better understanding of the second book. i felt so much more for the characters after reading the book.

I guess you could read where she went, without reading If i stay first, if you saw the movie, but i would recommend reading the first book first ;-)

if i were you i would deffinately read the first book. the second references the first alot. and you get too feel more of the emotional connection.

Yeah, you need to read the first one because the movie is well done but it miss a lot of references that the second book

I would say read the first one first but if you already saw the movie.....I don't know I haven't seen the movie so I don't know if the book is the same.

well as for me I read the 2nd book without reading the 1st one and I could understand it and what was the 1st book about

If you don't want to and you have seen the movie, than you don't necessarily have to, because it was a very faithful adaptation, but I would read it anyway because it is really good and it is a good way to warm up to the authors writing. Sometimes if you jump into a sequel without reading the first, you don't feel as connected to the writing.

I skipped reading the first book. I just saw the movie and then read Where she went, it works perfectly fine :)
