It is about an evil prince who arranges to marry a king's daughter. However, as an arrangement with the king the evil prince must do good deeds to marry his daughter. So the prince puts on is mask to cover his foul deeds and do good.

That is all i have for the story. I am unable to recall the name of the story, when i heard the story it was about 15 years ago. Its more of a fable set in the middle ages.

A fable usually has animal characters, does this one? When you say the prince was evil, how do we know this -- that is, do you remember any specific evil actions he did? Or any of the good deeds he did? When you say it was a medieval fable, do you mean it was an old story from that time, or just that it was set in the middle ages? Any recollection of what country the story was set in? When you read it, was it a standalone book or in a collection of stories?
