What a dud of a book! Words can't really express how much I disliked this.

It was the overly heavy religious overtones that got me. I wasn't aware that it was such a big part of the book, and wouldn't have read it if I'd known.I found it clumsily written & completely un-engaging.
Oh! I wanted to read this at some point but now I just want to run away. I don't succeed to stay in the story when there are obvious religious parts in a book. I'll see if I like the movie and perhaps try the book after that.
You're pretty much repeatedly whacked over the head with the God-stick throughout the book Zaz. I don't mind so much if it's done well, or done through metaphors, but this book doesn't even try to hide it.
I am not religious myself and totally missed the religious references. Since you like Fantasy lit you may really like it Zazz.
I know that I enjoyed the book and the insights into human character.
