Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew’s face broke into a smile and he hugged her quick. “Thanks love, that means a lot to me.” He said, pecking her cheek as he stood up to head to the front of the restaurant to order them both something. “I think my brother is pleased, he has always approved of my passions, just as I have approved of his.” He smiled back at her. “You would like him.” He promised, looking over the menu. “I can introduce you when we go to Ireland. What would you like? Lunch is on me” He promised, smiling at her. “I think you definitely deserve a treat after all the hard work you’ve done. Did today go alright?”

April nodded, putting her crutch back down against the table and leaning on him hesitantly. “I think I can manage this…” she took a small step, testing how much her ankle could bear, and then relaxed. She’d be able to walk with his support. “Alright. Let’s head out then. I’m paying this time, since you took me out last time.” She insisted. “Are you sure you want to have tea? The place is really nice, but since I want to make this my treat, I want you to have something you like.” She insisted. This time around, she didn’t want him to pick something just because he knew she liked it.

Maria smiled, closing her eyes. “Yes, we stick together as a family.” She agreed softly, drifting off as he did. The winds started to pick up around their tent, whistling as the storm approached but they were safe and dry together under the canvas, as the men had gone around and already pinned down and secured each tent.

Habi wasn’t expecting anything close to what happened as she stepped up and kissed him. He didn’t know how he hadn’t seen this before. He hadn’t even expected it. She… she liked him. And he had never known. He thought they just saw eachother as friends, and he didn’t want that to end so he never tried for anything more. And part of him had been too consumed by grief for his lost wife. He stared at her, eyes wide, and flushed slowly. “Rachelle… is this what you want?” He asked softly. He wasn’t sure if she was just acting in the moment, or if she actually loved him. “Rachelle… what does this mean?” He asked softly, not knowing what message she was trying to send, and he was almost too scared to say the message he was getting, and have her be angry with him if it was wrong.

Reece stayed with her until her doctor showed up and started to take care of her. He only left when the doctor assured him that she would be fine. Then he kissed her cheek gently and left again, walking out to find the magistrate and make good on his promise. He would only go through with this, if it was in an honourable way, and would allow him to be with Abby, without any fears or dishonesties. This would be ok. He could bear it, if it was for her. If she was ok.

Joyella followed quietly after her brother, not going to argue with him, not going to say that she didn’t really like the doctor, because she knew this was necessary. She had made a mistake, hadn’t taken precautions, and now she had to make sure everything was alright. So she followed Donavon into the doctor, standing back as her brother announced their purpose. She was nearly hiding behind him, as the doctor smiled, nodding his agreement. “Of course your highness. This meeting will not leave this room.” He vowed, bowing. Donavon’s tone scared Joyella slightly, but not as much as the doctor scared her. “What do you require of me?” The doctor asked.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn smiled and glanced at the menu "honestly? On a cold day like today all I am craving is some hot tomato soup and a grilled cheese." She held his arm leaning her head on his shoulder "it was alright...nothing too grand happened. My friend Movheal is submitting a clinical trial for me. He seems excited for it." She said nonchalantly wincing as she waited for him to vouce his disapproval that was sure to come.

Topher bit his lip really trying to consider if what he wanted was worth it "dear...I would like to go to a pub but you are a lady and I couldn't bear taking you somewhere like that...what about that dandy littke restaurant with the finger sandwiches you like?" He really wanted to make her happy and he was never one to care for himself and his own wants. He never had people care for him so why would he try now?

Rachelle flushed looking down, nothing less romantic then being questioned of your intentions "I...well I...I love you Habi...I thought that now would be a time to express it since you seemed interested..." She said quietly and bit her thumbnail shaking her head "please just forget it..." She grabbed her clothes and headed back to her tent as the wind froze her wet body going into her own tent and tying the red ribbon on the outside to mark that she didn't want to be disturbed.

One of the maids that had always been a friend helped him to her room as she dabbed the lashes and cleaned him up. She couldn't help but feel angry that for so long she loved him and he fell for the young duchess...the petite blonde invalid...of course what man wouldn't like her..."is it really worth this Reece? What are the chances of you ever working out? She could die in an instant...you'd be heart broken...and I hate to see you in pain..."

Donavon noddes glad he got the promise and respect "she lost her virginity last night, I want you to do the most thorough exam you can to make sure she is alright and not with child." He said taking his sister's hand and tugging her next to him as he squeezed her hand lovingly trying to be both the king and her big brother.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew nodded. "coming right up." he promised, ordering what she asked for, and a cream of potato soup for himself, with a bun on the side. For she was right, it was cold, and he was feeling the soup. When the food was ready, he brought it back over to her, frowning in consideration. "But love, doesn't that mean you don't get credit for it?" he asked, confused, as he set her food in front of her and sat down again. He knew she was brilliant, and he wished she got all the recognition for her projects.

April's smile was cheery as she pulled on a coat and walked outside with him. "The pubs in central London are different than the pubs in the outskirts. They are merry and cozy, and professionally staffed, with good company and good sandwiches too. You'll like it there." She promised, walking with him. She decided they didn't need to take a cab, for she needed the exercise, and to practice walking again. "Here's one…" She pointed to the hanging sign, which said "Cornerstone Pub"

Habi sighed heavily, knowing he had said something wrong immediately by the way she reacted. He huffed out and raked a hand through his hair. He knew he was horrible with women since his wife died, and he probably was far too blunt too, he just was awkward around females in general. "I'm sorry…" He mumbled, even though he knew she couldn't hear him. It was not that he wasn't against the idea, he was just surprised by it, to the point that he wasn't sure if he was interpreting her message correctly, and wanted to make sure, just in case. Walking back up to the tents, he went to talk to her, but saw the ribbon and sighed softly, returning to her father's tent where he took over watching his son again.

Reece had been able to bear it alright… at least for the first bit. He still didn't regret a thing, but his back hurt like crazy, and whatever Holli was rubbing on his wounds wasn't really helping much, at least not yet. He kept hissing and cursing and moving around, complaining all the while. "It's worth it. Even having her for a short while is better than not at all." he ground out. "Everyone keeps telling me the exact same thing." he tensed as she swabbed. "But her sister is to be queen, so she's allowed to choose anyone. That includes me... Gentle! Confound it! We're announcing our courtship as soon as she talks to her parents." he explained. Reece wasn't even aware of her affections for him, as she didn't display the obvious signs that most females did, and was better at hiding her emotions.

The doctor didn't even react, after all, as a doctor, he saw and dealt with this sort of thing often. "Of course. Miss Joyella, if you'd take off your stockings and climb on my table please, I promise I'll finish this as quickly as possible. You can leave your dress on." He said, not missing how terrified the poor girl looked. "And Highness, I'd watch the door if you didn't want anyone else coming in." He advised, pulling out his instruments.
Joyella sat tensely on the table, keeping her hands clasped to hide their shaking. Why was this whole room so cold suddenly? She was afraid of the metal instruments the doctor was pulling out of the bag, and she didn't really feel any comfort from Donavon being there either, for he was the one who wanted her to be there, the one she had disappointed in the first place. "Will it hurt?" She asked softly.
The doctor smiled gently at her, shaking his head as he tried to warm up his tools. "No dear girl, I'm not going to cut you open or anything. At most it might feel a little strange." He promised, but Joyella didn't look any more reassured.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn sighed and nodded "that it does...and I feel no angst for that...I know my place and maybe one day things will be different. But Micheal is brilliant and he will make my dreams come true...he will make it a reality." She dipped her sandwich in the soup and munched and shrugged "tell me what we will do in Ireland, will be be at an inn? A cute bed and breakfast?"

Thomas smiked finding that she was right, it was merry and there was musicians and it was well lit. No drunken glares or bar brawls. He led her to a booth and smiled setting her down "what shall be your poison? A frothy brew or a sharp bite of whisky?" He smiled and pecked her lips "or warm milk?" He teased nipping her jaw and got up to get the drinks.

Mani was awake when he came back in, he grinned happily and ran to hug him "papa!" He said excited and nuzzled him he frowned as he felt the energy low in his father "papa what's wrong?...is it Jenn? Oh please say she's ok!" He said tears gathering in his tear ducts "papa...I need to see her...Zeti doesn't let me leave."

Holli purposefully was pushing the rag roughly into his stripes as she quickly left him alone tears stream down her cheeks she went to the Magistrate "resign him, I'll pay anything to keep them apart." She whispered feeling nothing but vengeful. She pushed a white powder bag in his hand "put this in her tea...you'll get your money when she worsens..."

Donavon waited till Ren came into the room and then stood guard pulling the curtain so she could have privacy. Ren quickly held her shaking hand and pressed it to his lips "im here darling...im so sorry I should have stopped last night my rose...I shouldn't have I knew better..." He pressed his lips to her temple "your shaking..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew felt something twang in him as she spoke of this Micheal. It was a sadness such the sort that he had not felt before. This man apparently could do more for her than he could… He swallowed, sipping a spoonful of the soup to distract himself. "There are very many nice cottages that the locals will sometimes rent out." he offered, still feeling rather down about himself. "I had thought we could stay in one of those." he downed his glass of water. "Do you want more water?" he offered, standing with his glass to go refill it.

April sat down in the booth he lead her to, and she laughed lightly. "Not warm milk. But something else warm. They sell good Irish coffee here… maybe I'll have one of those." She said, nodding at her decision. "Yes, that sounds lovely. And maybe ask for a small slice of pie to share." She said. "You get whatever you want, remember, its my treat!" She insisted. She fully intended to at least do something special for him this time, as a thank you, for everything he had done for her so far.

Habi hugged his boy, truly overjoyed to see him up and looking better again. He sighed though, when Mani picked up all too easily that something was wrong. "No, Jen is fine. She's resting, and she asked for you earlier. I was just talking to Rachelle, but it's nothing to worry about." he promised. "You can go over and see Jen if you want, but don't dally. I wan't someone watching you at all times, ok? If she's sleeping, come right back over." He insisted. "Don't bother the girl too much. She went through a lot today." He smiled gently at Mani. "Well. Go on then."

The magistrate's eyebrows raised as he surveyed her offer. He was never one to turn down good pay, but the risk in poisoning someone was too great. "I'll resign Reece." He pocketed the poison. "But young maids should not be scurrying around wishing others dead. Leave now, and I'll forget you ever brought this to me. I suggest you be more careful in future, or you may get in serious trouble." he said sternly, leaving to go find Reece in bed, who was struggling to get up and get his shirt on, still looking rather surprised at Holli's strange disappearance. "Mr. Matthews, here is your resignation form. Please sign it here."
Reece's eyes widened and he wobbled a bit, having lost a lot of blood, and still losing it, he was quite weak. "B-but… I …. you said…"
"Are you questioning me boy!?"
Reece lowered his eyes, shaking his head. "No sir." He whispered, signing the paper.
"That's a good lad. Your mother and you are expected to evacuate the cottage before friday. Good day." He left.
Reece stumbled to his feet, the tears already threatening as he put together a shaky note to Abby, explaining what had happened. He wasn't let into her bedroom, as she was resting, but the good doctor vowed to give the note to her when she woke.
Reece stumbled home, the back of his shirt red from how much blood he had lost, and hurting worse than ever. But he still managed to keep the tears away, not wanting his mother to see them, as he entered the house and headed for his bed.

Joyella let out a soft sigh of relief when Ren entered the room and she clutched his hand in her own, shaking her head even though she was clearly terrified. "No… no it wasn't your fault… it was a good thing… just probably too soon…" She whispered, swallowing and closing her eyes. "I'm scared, Ren." she responded, trying to ignore the doctor as he worked. She grimaced once, but most of the pain was only her own fear of it. She was glad too, though, that Donavon didn't seem intent on killing Ren. Not right at this moment… anyways.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn as always caught the micro emotions on his face, just like when they were on the train and he recognized her name "no...stay, Matthew darling you aren't jealous of Micheal are you?...darling he is..." She whispered in his ear 'homosexual' which was just as worst as a girl if he was found out. "I keep his secret and created a friendship this way,..there's nothing to worry about Matthew...I love you..." She took his hand "im going to be sleeping in your bed all holiday and I don't think we will be sleeping." She kissed the edge of her mouth and smiled but her eyes still held worry.

Matthew smilrd and went and got the two Irish coffees. He passed over a piece of pumpkin pie with a dollop of cream. He sat down by her side and wrapped his arm around her protectively and fed her a pice of pie "there we are live, just a nibble its still very hot...but don't worry I'll kiss it better." He nipped the side of her nose and smiled "your far too cute I just want to eat you!"

Mani grinned and ran off to the tent. The storm was whipping his cloak as he shook off the snow and went to Jenn "hi Jenn...its Mani im here..." He whispered and stroke her face "I missed you...oh Jenn I was so scared...I should have got it for you...I was a coward..." He whispered tears splashing down his nose "I love you...Jenn." He rested his head near here thinking that Habi wanted him watched, well Jenn was watching him.
Rachelle removed the ribbon and went into Habi's tent fully dressed and knelt by him "Habi...I come off strong, always have...I take everything personally...always have...and I love you always have...that's three truths about me. I have many more but I need to know it isn't just me...that im not a foolish girl that is too pathetic to tell you how I felt so many years ago...before you met Sariah..."

Donavon found the note and frowned, he quickly rushed to the magistrate who had just fed Abby the tea "what is the meaning of this?! You aren't allowed to ask anyone to resign without my written consent! This is the fifth instance and I have had enough. Get that boy back or I will find a new magistrate and quick!" He yelled his anger flashing in his eyes. The tea cup slipped from Abby's hands shattering to the ground.
Hollie rushed to Reece wanting to be the one he turned to "Reece I'll make sure that you get your job back I promise! Or even a better one! Own your own flower shop what do you think about that?" She needed him to love her. She was risking so much if she was found out.

Ren heloed her off the table slowly and took her in his arms holding her closely and securely "well?" He asked the doctor needing to know the results of the humiliation his girl went through...because of him.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew was more than a little shocked at her admission about Michael, and even more relieved. He relaxed almost immediately. "Oh…" he said, returning to his seat. "I see." his smile slowly returned then and he caught her lips. "Let's finish our soup, and then book the cottage we choose to stay at, sound good?" he asked, sipping down the rest of his meal. "Well. At some point I do hope for you to get credit for your findings. But it is good of your friend to help you get it out into the world." He offered, finishing up his bread.

April looked up as Topher brought back the delightfully smelling food and she laughed, enjoying the piece of pie that he fed her. And maybe it was the whisky in the coffee, or the warmth of the moment, but she found herself kissing him passionately for a second before pulling away, looking a little surprised at herself. "Maybe… maybe… but not here." She whispered, blushing as she sipped some more of the coffee and smiled.

Jenn hadn't been awake when Mani ran in, but she woke slowly, to the sound of his voice. Everything hurt, and she whimpered, wanting to run away from the pain. But joy of all joys, Mani was here. She reached out her good hand, trying to find him, trying to hold him and curl up in his arms. She hated laying out on this hard table, in pain, alone. "Not… fault…" She whispered.
Habi looked up as Rachelle came in, rather surprised at her admissions, but it was a pleasant surprise, and he found himself feeling lighter again. "I am sorry, Rachelle, if I came off as blunt. I am not the most charming man, nor the most fluid with my tongue." He admitted, giving a light one shouldered shrug. "But I must say I am a little surprised to learn that you actually… felt that way for me." He said softly. "I… I guess I'm not very observant…"

Reece looked up, having a hard time even seeing, but he knew it was Holli by her voice. "I'm not getting my job back." he whispered, brokenly, collapsing on his bed. He was only glad it was Holli here and not his mother. He'd probably give his mother a heart attack. He closed his eyes, finding himself lightheaded from blood loss. "T-thank you… though…" he whispered.
The magistrate rushed in then, handing Reece the papers. "You still have a job." he said gruffly, leaving again. Reece breathed out a sigh. "Thank goodness." he whispered, drifting off as he was dangerously close to passing out.

The doctor smiled, putting away his equipment. "She's healthy and just fine, if only a little sore. Lucky for you both, she didn't conceive." He added, throwing out his gloves. Joyella, who was clinging to Ren and only starting to relax again just then, managed to breathe a sigh of relief. "I highly suggest you be more careful for the future though." He added, "I doubt you'll be so lucky again." Joyella nodded eagerly, just wanting to be out of the office. "Thank you for your time." she said softly, smoothing her skirts and trying to book it out of there.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn smiled softly glad to see he felt better that he was smiling and making very romantic plans for them. She picked up her bowl and drank it down without a spoon and thankfully managed not to slurp. The sandwich was nothing but crust as she tugged him up eagerly and smiled "as long as you are proud of me...that's all I need. Maybe one day they'll listen but I'm not going to stress on it." She grabbed her jacket heading with him to his apartment "oh! I almost forgot to mention it...the man April is being fawned upon came to the house with flowers. I think they are serious!"

Topher was a little more then shocked as she kissed him so passionately out of the blue. Gripping her hair he held her there longer before releasing her as she continued to drink "I think that's the whiskey talking love...besides, I think it would be rather romantic to wait...until our wedding day...it would make it more sacred and less...luseful. Trust me, every part of me wants you...but you've been with enough men that only want that...I don't want to confuse you..."

Mani held her close and adjusted the cushions and blankets so she wasn't so uncomfortable on the hard surface. If he could easily lift her without undoing the work his dad did and causing her more suffering he would have set her on the furs. Running his small hands through her hair he sniffed shaking his head "just try and heal Jenn...its hard seeing you in pain and not being able to take it away..." He whispered and closed his eyes just resting with her feeling better now that he was back with his friend.
Rachelle nodded her head in agreement, it didn't escape her notice that he didn't say he loved her back. She tried not to let the pain in as she nodded once more "I suppose it was all in my head...please try not to let us ruin this friendship we cherish...I can try and stop the emotions I feel but it'll be difficult to say the least...papa wants me to leave the clan for a bit to find my way im the world...there isn't much for me left."

Holli glared at the magistrate tugging him out to the outside "we had a deal! And what if the girl? We're you too cowardly to accomplish that as well?" She whispered her eyes glazed in anger thinking about how everything was falling apart.

Donavon rushed into the doctor as soon as Joyella was trying to escape his heart was racing trying to keep a calm demeanor but his eyes gave him away. "It's Lady Abigail something is very wrong...please come, quickly!" He ran back to his Ella who had been the one to notice it. It was so strange the doctor said she was improving and just needing rest an hour ago...now she was still, unresponsive and difficult to find a pulse.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew nodded. He understood that she had to start somewhere small, even though he wished she didn't have to give away her ideas. But it was ok, really, as long as she ended up getting good recognition in the end. "Really, did he now?" he asked, closing the door after them and putting away his coat. "I suppose I'm going to have to step up my game. Do you want flowers, Brook?" he asked, raising an eyebrow in her direction. He thought it was sweet that her twin had someone to love her so delicately.

Wait until their wedding day? She hadn't considered it, after her past… but now… with someone special, she knew the wait would be worth it, and would make it far more of a sacred event. "I'd like that." She agreed, still a little flustered by the kiss, and her own actions. What warmed her heart, was that he was talking as if they already had a wedding planned. She helped him finish off the pie, and smiled. "I couldn't confuse any other man with you, Topher, no one compares, trust me." she vowed, sipping some more of the irish coffee and licking the whipped cream off her lip.

Jenn closed her eyes, finding herself more comfortable now, and feeling safer when he was there to hold an protect her. "I… I heard…. I heard you were stung…" She whispered, talking was quite an effort. But she couldn't have been more glad that he was there to take care of her, to save her and bring her comfort. She had heard about the bees, and knew he was allergic, and she was worried about him.
Habi's expression fell when she immediately jumped to conclusions, and started spewing nonsense. He knew the thought of him not returning her feelings had somehow offended her. And he had only said he was surprised, which was true! "Rachelle… I never said anything more than expressing my shock. I'll admit, I haven't been thinking much about that sort of thing since… well since she passed… but that doesn't mean I'm displeased… or opposed…"

The magistrate looked down at the girl with a certain anger. "You'd do well to remember who you speak to girl, unless you want to be the one unemployed. Our business is done." he said firmly with a glare in her direction and a swish of his robes as he left.
Reece could see the world swimming about him, and knew by the ache in his bones that he had lost a lot of blood, too much blood, he thought, as the lights went out and he slacked, unconscious.

Joyella squeaked in dismay at the news. Her friend… her only friend, and still hating her for what had happened this morning! She rushed into Abby's room, gasping at the sight of her friend unconscious. She clasped her hand, the tears filling her eyes. "Abby… Oh dear sweet Abby… what has happened…? Please don't leave me now… not ever, not now." She whispered, laying her head by her friend. The stress from earlier and this… it was too much.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn raised a brow in his direction "it wasn't a challenge Michael, I adore you and that is it...I don't care for flowers the way April does, she sees beauty in small innocent things I...well I see beauty in the body and solving puzzles. Remember that wooden puzzle you got for me? That meant the world to me, more then flowers ever could." She cupped his face smiling softly "don't forget how much I love you..." She kissed him softly wanting entrance as the kisser progressed to a deeper more sensual level.

Topher tapped her nose and smiled "trust me my dear heart...a wedding will happen and it'll be a glorious occasion...just you want and see alright? I just want to earn enough that I can care for you properly and obviously we will need to court more...but my heart has decided it only wants you. And if you'll take me...I think we would be happy the rest of our lives." He said compketely honest, this wasn't the whiskey talking at all this was his heart speaking instead of his brain. His brain was trying to keep him reasonable but doing a fairly horrible job at it.

Mani just held onto her not wanting to speak of himself, but he knew she'd be worried if he said nothing so he sighed "yeah...I was trying to keep them away from you...I lost consciousness for a bit, thought I saw my mum but then my dad brought me back...he's dealing with so much I couldn't leave him or you..." He admitted and thought about Rachelle and his dad "do you like Rachelle?"
Rachelle looked at him her big blue eyes alnost hopeful "oh?..." She thought it best not to say anymore since she apparently was messing everything up. She leaned her head on his shoulder and just hugged him "I never would want to take the place of Satiah...she was my best friend...and I know how much you love her."

Donavon went to the cabin and found Reece suffering, he swore and quickly got the boy to the hospital getting him blood transfusions and his back sewn up properly. Abby ran to Reece and just held him close "how are you here?...Reece im scared...the magistrate put something in my tea and forced me to drink it...he said that money wasn't worth this...Reece darling we have to go back its not our time! What do we do?"

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew listened as she spoke of her likes, and something in him warmed to know that she actually liked the gift he had chosen to get for her. "I'll try not to, love." he whispered, just before she kissed him. He was learning fast that she was a good kisser, and an intense one too. He obliged, tangling his fingers up in her hair and holding her against him, tilting his head. He enjoyed every bit of her immensely, even her flaws, and so this sort of thing was wonderful.

April blushed, nodding when he tapped her nose, her smile growing wider and wider as he spoke. They were such romantic words, and words that her dear soul longed to hear. She melted right there in that booth in a bar, becoming a puddle of mush. "I wonder sometimes how you know what just to say to make me fill with joy, Topher, it seems to be an uncanny ability of yours." She teased, but meaning it very much. She understood now, what it meant to be happy, and she knew she and him to thank for that.

Jenn bit her lip at his story, clinging to him a little tighter. "Thank you." She whispered, closing her eyes again as she rested and just listened to him talk and let the sound of his voice soothe her. "Rachelle?" She repeat softly, wondering why the sudden topic change. "She seems nice, like Maria, but noisier." she said honestly. She knew, however, that it didn't take much to be louder than Maria.
Habi nodded, his heart pounding as he tried to come up with words to say that wouldn't make him look stupid, or hurt her, or just not make sense. He couldn't really make sense of his own feelings anyways. "Yes… I…" he shook his head, putting an arm around her, thinking about Sariah. He had loved her very much. Still did. But he had to admit something. "It was very hard to choose between you, you know." He said softly. "You don't even know how hard of a time I had." He admitted, basically admitting to liking her.

Reece was most surprised to see Abby. She shouldn't be here either. "I lost a lot of blood." he explained quickly, frowning as she told her story. "He must have poisoned your tea… but someone can find the antidote, I'm sure! You can heal… you can go back and get better and get strong again." He hugged her, trying to be reassuring. "There's a way to live still, I promise." He just hoped they'd figure it out soon and bring her back before it was too late. He couldn't bear the thought of her dying...

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn pushed him to the couch her body reacting with his as she fumbled with his shirt buttons holding him closely and never letting go. She held onto him closely afterwards feeling exhausted sticky and yet elated beyond anything she ever felt "so that's what the big deal is..." She said teasingly and smiling over at him "you alright?..." She caressed down his jaw feeling the scruff at her fingertips and smiling softly. She never knew what love really was, but science and passion mixed and she now understood "I love you..."

Topher checked his pocket watch and sighed deeply as he saw what time it was. "Better get you home my love...I have to go to work and your sister would be absolutely furious if she knew how much energy I put you through...you need to rest, you've pushed yourself enough. I will come tuck you in when I'm done with work how about that?" He caressed her pale cheek his deep dark eyes full of worry as he kissed her hand helping her up and out of the pub and calling a taxi so she didn't have to walk back.

Mani chickled and noddes at the noisy part "she is very loud...not in a bad way, joyful is the word I would use...I think...I think my dad is falling in love with her...what...what if they get married? I don't remember my mom...what if it makes her sad that I like Rachelle?...my pa says always be good cause mum is watching...I don't want to disappoint her..."
Rachelle looked up surprised for once she had nothing to say, the energy was starting to warm between them, their lips seemingly getting closer or was that part of her imagination? She kissed him softly not forcefully or hyper. Just tender barely touching as she felt tears fall down her cheeks "I was a choice?..." She never got picked for anything or anyone, her own father told her daily how he wished her brother survived the sickness and not her. Her crazy hyper self was a mask to hide the real pain and fears of being forgotten and abandoned.

Donavon went to his Ella and held her gloved hand tightly in his pressing it to his lips "are you alright my darling?...we will find out who did this and they will be punished Mark my words..."
Abby buried her face in his chest missing his earthly scent that always kept her calm. She loosed his jaw and nodded "you get to come with me then...I won't go alone...I can't believe you were so brutally hurt...it isn't right..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew's smile was soft, loving, and full of joy. "Mhm…" he mumbled, closing his eyes and just relaxing as she caressed his face, his arm wrapped around her waist. He loved her, and loved her deeply. "I think you already know how I think of you, love." he whispered, smiling then as he cracked one eye open and looked at her. A thought rose in his mind. "I really hate to bring this up right now… but will your sister be alright, with you here for so long?" he asked, merely having her best interests in mind. He never wanted her to leave, but he also didn't want any harm to befall her sibling.

April nodded, seeing the reason in his suggestion to head home. It was logical, even though her heart begged her to stay longer, begged for time to slow. She found she always felt that way around Topher, because he made her feel loved and appreciated. She felt like she lived a life worth living now. "I'd like that." She agreed, sliding into the taxi when it pulled up. "Thank you, Topher, for a wonderful outing." She waved, as the door shut and the cab drove off, taking her back to her and Brook's place.

Jenn nodded, nearly forgetting all about her pain as she talked with Mani about Rachelle and her own adopted mother. "Falling in love…" She whispered, beaming. She only knew of it from what her father had told her, and had no idea what it was, otherwise. She had no idea that what she felt for Mani was love. "I'm sure she'd be happy for you and your father." She assured softly, thinking about her own mother whom she had never known. "Papa always said that though my mother missed us, she would be happier if we were happy, and that is why he fell in love with Maria." She explained.
Habi was more than nervous. In fact, he was having a very hard time organizing his thoughts in his head, and what on earth was going on. But his heart was telling him to think less, and just let it lead. So he did… "You were always." he whispered, looking between her two hopeful eyes… he couldn't help but remember how she had kissed him, and he was dying to experience it again, so he let himself lean forward and gently kiss her for a moment, a sweet, questioning sort of gesture.

Ella was sitting on the little lounge in the library outside Abby's room, as she had been growing faint at the sight of her sister's condition and pale skin, and the doctor had ordered her out for her own sake. "I'm so afraid, Donavon." She whispered, staring into empty space, deep in thought. "I'm so afraid I'll lose her… I've tried so hard to keep her healthy and happy and safe… only for this to happen…" She whispered, her voice cracking.
Reece wrapped his arms around Abby, holding her to him and trying to console and comfort her as best as he could. He had faith that she would get better again. Good doctors could pick up traces of poisons, and then they'd find the antidote and she'd get well. "I will try my very hardest to come back with you." he whispered, kissing her hair. He had no idea that Donavon had brought him to the hospital, so he wasn't sure if someone would find him in time, but he wasn't going to say that to Abby. She was already frightened enough. "I am still a servant, Abby, merely apprenticing at the palace, and nothing more. What happened is the way of things." he whispered.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brook sighed and closed her eyes "I may be the worse sister ever...but I just wanted a time without her...without her sad blue eyes looking into mine like I can solve all the problems in the world...I don't know, I like being taken care of...for once, I was always taking care of her...secretly of course until she found out...but this right here? Lying in your arms this is what I want..."

Topher smiled and lifted her up bridal style in his arms being cautious for her ankle. He laid her in bed getting her tucked in and kissed her head "Ill be back soon my dove...get some rest I'll make sure everything is locked up..." He promised her checking every window and door before allowing himself to be alright with leaving her there for a few hours.

Mani smiled running his finger down her nose "im going to kiss you when we get big...just like our daddy's do...and we'll get married once. " he said seriously feeling like this was a grand dream they could accomplish. He yawned pulling the furs up "night night Jenn...sleep tight im not going anywhere."
Thomas was helping Maria as she was nauseous again, her cleaned her mouth and pulled her hair back "what if this is the poison again?...Maria I insist you see an actual licensed doctor! We can go to the city it's only a few miles away..."

Rachelle slowly kissed him back holding his face and exploring his face with soft kisses memorizing it. "I love you..." She whispered her voice trembling from the repercussions that could happen. Legally by the clan's rules this was forbidden as a woman she could be killed for being so forward and kissing him. Especially since he was a married man and she was single. Only those that had previously been married and not virgins could court and marry. She was risking a lot and she didn't care.

Donavon wrapped his arms from behind her and just held her closely "I know...I know...we are investigating the poison, seems to be made from arsenic and...eldest pesticide. Which any of the servants could access...the magistrate has been sentenced but he claims he was just paid to do it....who paid him we haven't a clue yet..but the doctors are fixing an antidote she will live...I need to check on Reece in the hospital...will you be alright?"
Abby shook her head "no...I won't accept it...no one will lay a finger on you again...we are courting and I choose you to be my husband...we will live in a small modest cottage with a secret garden just like the book...and a little kitten with a bell around its neck that runs around...and news sweetly..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew shook his head, holding her a little tighter, in what he hoped felt like a reassuring manner. "No, it's ok. I certainly am not complaining. You deserve some time for yourself." he promised, pecking her lips. "Besides, I'm sure that boy is looking after her." he promised, rubbing her arms gently to reassure her. He didm''t want her to leave any time soon, so it was all the better that she was enjoying it too. "Don't ever go…"

April squeaked when he picked her up, and she clung to his neck for support, relaxing again once she was set on her bed and tucked in carefully. "Thank you…" She whispered, letting her eyes droop closed, for she was tired, it had been quite the eventful day… "Come back after…" She whispered, before driving off into deep sleep. If she hadn't been too tired to dream, her dreams would have been happy, and about a person in particular.

Jenn blushed bright red, but you could tell she was pleased by the huge grin on her features. "I'd like that…" She said softly, tucking her face against him, so she could sleep knowing he was right there beside her. "I'm counting on you." She whispered, smiling lightly, not even aware of her pain anymore as she drifted off beside him.
Maria shook her head, not about to o to a doctor. She was good enough of a healer on her own, and she didn't want any doctors poking at her. "I don't need a doctor, Thomas. Plenty of women have been pregnant before me, and they have all been just fine." She grumbled, not liking this fuss at all.

Habi felt himself melting, but it was more than that, part of his heart, which had been locked behind bars finally escaped and danced for joy, allowing him to be himself again, and he had never been happier. "I love you too." he whispered, kissing her back for another moment, before pulling away to look in her eyes. "So what does this mean?" he asked, forever thinking practically in the aspect of where their relationship would go next.

Ella nodded slowly, but she was still petrified. It felt a little better, knowing that the doctors knew which poisons were used, and could now find an antidote or way to treat it. But still, her sister was deathly ill right at this minute, and Ella was just as pale as she was. "Alright." She said softly, not wanting him to go at all, but understanding he had to.
Reece closed his eyes, trying to imagine it. It was almost too good to be true. No, it was too good to be true. He'd imagined dreams so lovely as this one, but never in a hopeful 'it could happen' sort of way…. "But my mother…. I need an income to support her." he said softly, "that's why I had to get the job in the first place." he kissed her gently. "Though the thought of living in a place with you gives me joy like nothing else." he admitted.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn closed her eyes and snuggled into the blankets covering up her nude body. She had never felt so vulnerable and open. She was loved beyond anything she had ever felt and it was marvelous "talk to me about your work...I love hearing about your passions..." She mused tracing her fingers on his strong burly chest. She felt drunk and yet was completely sober it was a pleasing bubbly feeling that made her giggle for no reason "yoh turned me into one of those love sick school girls...what do you have to say for yourself?"

Topher was pleased to see Sam all over another ballerina, though the girl kept reminding him of April he didn't seem that phased. Seems like he broke it off for her. What a relief! He headed back to her place after the show and just watched over her making sure she was safe and sleeping soundly until her sister came home. She was a delicate little thing and he would protect her with his life if needs be.

Thomas looked at her shocked his jaw dropping as his eyes went wide staring at her "w-what?...I...what?" He hadn't a clue she was pregnant it had never been a thought process or a possibility. He picked her up and twirled her before setting her back down "when did you find out? How?...oh my love I couldn't be more thrilled!"

Rachelle sighed deeply "I don't know...you know the rules Habi...I by law cannot be with you. That won't stop me as you can see but...we can't be open about it...I just wish there was a way...that I could lose my virginity before meeting you and yet not break the rules concerning that...I don't want to get you and your boy in trouble..."

Abby smiled softly "of course I'll make sure your mother is provided for...darling I wouldn't dream of living far from either of our families...but I want to be selfish and just have you...to take care of me always and read and paint...just rest and heal...and...I could...ask the doctor if it would be safe...to...well you know..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew ran his fingers gently through her hair, holding her close as he tucked his chin over her head, "I have nothing to say to that, beyond that I'm not sorry." he chuckled, closing his eyes. "As for work… well you know about my project with the theatre. I hope to improve it, and still keep that historic sort of charm to it. Hopefully your sister and the other performers will approve." he said, somewhat nervously. "I feel like I'm dabbling in something sacred, and I'd hate to mess it up." He admitted, he was actually quite nervous that people might be against what he was doing.

April stirred when Topher came in, and even though he was quiet, she heard him come through the front door, and then her bedroom door, as she was a light sleeper, and she cracked open one eye and smiled. "Hey there handsome man." She said softly, not moving from her spot, but she did pat the spot on the bed beside her. Her sister usually kept her company on nights like this, and she was feeling lonely, so she just wanted him to lay there with her for a while. "How was work? What is new at the theatre? Tell me everything… I miss seeing everyone." she admitted somewhat forlornly. She had good friends among the dancers after all, good female friends that weren't fickle or shallow minded like Sam.

Maria couldn't help the smile that transformed her face as she watched her love stumble over the news and then light up with elation. She nodded again and again, confirming it for him, kissing him gently and then looking up at him. "A few days ago. I wasn't entirely sure, so I asked our most skilled healer and she confirmed what I suspected." She explained, smiling shyly. She had been quite frightened at first, but seeing him so joyful made it all worth it.

Habi frowned, thinking it through. This custom was one of the ones where he really thought it unnecessary. "I…" He shook his head, trying to think. "There has to be some way… with the way our family values family so much, you'd think they wouldn't put such laws to prevent it in place." he muttered, raking a hand through his hair. "We wouldn't get in trouble, Rachelle. It's you I'm worried about." He said seriously, glancing over at her, for he knew it was her that the elders would punish should there be any law breaking.

Reece smiled, relaxing, if a spirit could relax, but it was clear that anyhow, he was more at ease. He couldn't leave his mother to fend for herself, but as long as he knew she'd be taken care of, then he knew he could relax. "I think it's ok to be selfish in that regard." he promised, capturing her lips. His eyes sparked then as he smiled. "And that does sound mighty enticing." He winced then, as pain suddenly flooded back into his body. Pain meant he wasn't dead, pain meant he was going back. He smiled lightly, giving her hand one last squeeze. "Looks like I'm going back now… come find me love."

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn smiled softly "im sure April would love to help you love...she was actually pleased that you were going to be the one working on it...a bit sad yes but it's nostalgia. There hasn't even been a proper ballet studio at the place...my sister practiced in a dingy old ballroom, with cracked old mirrors...please create a place of beauty...for the dancers, they are like trapped birds only allowed out to perform..."

Topher smiled laying by her and holding her closely and kissing her hair "Sam has found a new plaything...he won't bother you again..." He whispered soothing her "I told the director about your class and he's thrilled...there's four little ones that signed up. They keep giggling in thought of being like you...a ballerina..."

Thomas spun her and held her closr lacing his fingers in her long hair and kissed multiple times over her face "we are going to be parents love! We are having a child...were you alright? Are you thrilled? I just...Maria it's so unexpected..." He held her close and smiled at Jenn "she'll be thrilled when she hears."

Rachelle sighed "yes I know, I was hoping you would be distracted from that fact...if my father knows I'll be eithet shunned or killed...and that is that." She ran her hand through her hair "it was a bad idea telling you...I should have just stayed quiet, cause I can't hide it now...I would rather die then be apart from you..."

Donavon smiled as Reece came to "there's the good lad...how are you feeling? Can I get you some water?" He offered dimming the lights so that he wouldn't be blinded as he started to wake up.
Abby was shutting down her body still barely a breath, Abby's spirit was by Ella holding her hand tightly "Ella don't...don't let me go! The antidote is in Holli's room! Please!' She screamed hoping someway she would be heard.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew's worried expression turned into clear relief and he smiled then, glad by the news. "Oh that's wonderful to hear. I'd be happy to run my ideas by her. It really is horrible that such a place of art was left to ruin." he said honestly, shifting a bit to get more comfortable before relaxing beside her. "And how is this little bird? The one who is working so hard to reach the clouds…" He kissed her hair. "Are you doing alright love? I worry about all the stress that is put on you day after day." He said honestly.

April smiled lightly, snuggling up in his arms and then just relaxing. "That's a relief." She said softly, not really wanting to think about Sam. But it truly was good news to hear that he was going to leave her alone now. But it was even better news to know that the director approved of their idea. "Oh wonderful!" She exclaimed, clearly thrilled. "That's so exciting… I can't wait to get started… it's been so long since I was doing anything other than just sleeping and being useless." She joked, but there was a bit of bitterness in her voice. Dancing had been a way to express herself… and she had been taken from that for such a long time now.

Maria couldn't help the genuine laugh that escaped her as she embraced him and caught his lips once. "I've been better. The throwing up hasn't been fun… but I'm happy we're having a family, and even more so because you are so happy." She said honestly, tucking her head against him. "It was unexpected, and I had been worried it was poison again… but not this time. I hope Jenn will be ok with the idea."

Habi pulled away to pace the tent, trying to gather his thoughts, get an idea, something, anything. Anyway for them to work this out. The thought of her being banished or shunned or even killed was too much for him, and he was clearly distressed. "There has to be something… there has to be… aren't there legal ways to go about this?" he asked, knowing she would know the laws better than him, being an elder's daughter.

Reece groaned as the pain drew him back to the real world. His back burned and his head ached, and generally he felt pretty crappy, but he was alive, and he knew that was something to be thankful about. "Water might be nice." He agreed, his voice was slightly hoarse, he was a little stunned to find the king to be here and helping him, and was nervous by that. Had he done something worse somehow?
Ella felt something stir in the room, and maybe because they were sisters, or maybe because she was hoping, she heard Abby's voice. "Abby?" She asked, confused, but she got up, running to the room to check, just in case. After tearing out drawers and opening cupboards, she found a vial labeled antidote and brought it back to the doctors, panicked and afraid. She didn't even think about how it might look bad that she had found the antidote, she was just trying to help her sister. The thought that she might be blamed for this never even crossed her mind.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn sighed "she doesn't go to me for help anymore...I know I used to hate it but now I just feel empty without it...she has Topher and he's perfect for her...I guess I just feel sad that I couldn't ever make her that happy...one man had been in her life a few weeks and her whole countenance has changed..."

Topher knew that she wasn't just joking, it harmed her in ways he couldn't understand. He pulled her closer and pressed his face in her hair "you aren't useless...you are not only healing physically but emotionally and mentally...but my angel you are ready to fly now and you don't understand how glorious you have become...how you will shine like never before on that stage...completely free...and that is a sight im not missing for the world..."

Thomas smiled watching his sleeping little girl and her little love. "She will be thrilled...she always wanted siblings...always wanted a big family...but I couldn't give that to her. There was so much I couldn't give until I met you.,,I just don't understand how we could have hated eachother so much...maybe we were just afraid..."

Rachelle sighed and watched him fret over it "I'll just tell papa the truth...I think he'll at least respect that im being honest with him...from there I don't know...he loves me and he wants me to be happy I do know that. But he is one of the referred Elder's and must follow the rules..." She left the tent going to her father's "Papa? Do you grant me permission to speak with you?"

Donavon helped him sit up and drink the water "lady Abigail would be cross if I didn't make sure you were ok...she won't be pleased regardless but at least now I can report that you are concious and doing better...what happened to you shouldn't have been done..."
The doctor's asked multiple questions about where she found it and finally arrested Holli for attempted murder. They got Abby to drink it and she was slowly painstakingly recovering.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew nodded, still playing with her hair as he just listened. He knew it must be tough, for her to watch her sister get close to someone else like that. "I'm sure she doesn't value you any less, Brooklyn, like I don't value my brother any less, I'm just choosing to spend my time with you." He pointed out, hoping to make her feel better. "But I know it must be difficult." he added softly, reaching down to lace his fingers with hers.

April closed her eyes, allowing herself to just listen and soak in his words, trying to believe them, to convince herself that he was telling the truth. She was warmed to the core by his words, for truly, they were exactly what she had been hoping to hear. She longed to get back on the stage, to be free and be herself, and she knew she would get a chance to soon. But for now, she was enjoying being here, snuggled with Topher. "You freed me from my cage, you know." She whispered. "I couldn't have escaped without you. I thought I was happy locked up."

Maria's smile turned somewhat thoughtful as she turned to look at the girl as well. Such a sweet soul, her, and that boy too. No one in the camp doubted that they'd be a cute couple when they grew older. "I'm glad." She said softly. "But I'm more glad that I can give you what you've wanted for so long." She pecked his cheek and then sat, needing to rest. "I'm sure we were both terrified." she smiled lightly.

Habi nodded, leaning on the table. "Good luck." he whispered weakly, tense and nervous, but he let her go talk to her father. He knew she had to do that alone.
Her father looked up as his daughter came in and he smiled putting away the lute he had been playing. "Of course my dear… what is it you wish to talk to your dear father about?" he asked, patting the furs beside him in offer to sit, as he was old and didn't like standing much.

Reece winced as he was lifted up into a sitting position, as his back hurt dreadfully as it stretched a bit, and then he settled and sipped the water, glad to have it. It made sense, when Donavon explained why he was here, and Reece found himself relaxing. "Abby, is she alright?" he was a little surprised to hear the king say a thing like that it shouldn't have been done. Whipping servants for misgivings was the way of things. "It's fine." he said softly. "It's the way of things, I'm fine."
Ella stayed by Abby's bed, watching her, and holding her hand in tense worry and clear fear. She stayed by her, as the doctors administered the antidote, and then watched as her dear sister slowly regained life and warmth back into her cheeks, her breathing and heart rate returning to normal. Ella broke down crying, hugging her sister. "Oh Abs, I was so worried!" She said, tucking her face in the blankets.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn pressed his hand to her cheek and kissed it softly "can't wait to meet your family...what if your brother does not approve of me?" She was concerned about that. He looked up to his older brother with his soul. If the brother didn't approve it would be over and she'd become an unapproachable study bess again. She ran her hand doen his chest "im all cold again...I know what would warn me up love..."

Topher smiled "I thought I was happy living off the slums and trying to be the hero...all I really wanted was someone to love me...to see me...and you did that, you saw the man behind the filth. I don't want to leave you darling but Joshua needs me...he's home by himself and he's still a boy...would you come with me? You can stay in the guest room...if you'd feel more confortable."

Topher nuzzled her and placed a hand on her stomach imagining pure light eminating from his hand to his unborn child "I love you...I think I always knew that, just you were so intimidating and frankly I didn't like to be shown up by you day after day. You are far too smart and far too beautiful...like a goddess..." He rubbed her back and down her hip "Do you think that we will have a spring child?"

Rachelle shook her head "I'd rather stand father...im telling you something that may shock you and it risks both of our lives...Im in love with Habi...I want to be his lover and I know the law and I know I'm risking my life telling you...but...he loves me back father...I've never thought I had a chance..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew opened his eyes, caressing her cheek with his thumb. "I can't wait for my family to meet you. My brother will love you." He whispered, kissing her forehead. "What's not to love?" he tucked her closer, allowing himself to enjoy her running her fingers down his chest. "Hmm… I think I know what would help that." He smiled, kissing her again. Who was he to say no to that?

April's smile was genuine when he told her of how she had made his life better. She was truly glad for that, for he had definitely made hers a whole lot better, and she was happy she was able to return the favour. She bit her lip when he spoke of his brother though. She knew she was selfish to want him to stay when he had a young brother to look after. However, his invitation solved that. "Are you sure it wouldn't be too much trouble to have me over?" She asked, turning to look at him. At this point, she knew her sister would be out late, if not all night, so it didn't really matter anyways.

Maria smiled lightly, resting her hand over top of his. They would have a larger family now, and their next kid would be hers genetically, not her sister's. "I do not doubt that. I have been told that I can be intimidating." She admitted, her smile soft. "Spring is a wonderful time to have a baby, and I feel they will be coming by then. Sometime next spring… when the flowers have just started blooming."
Sada had always lingered around Thomas and Jenn, loving them both, watching. But it was growing too painful for her to watch Thomas and Maria in love. For though she was happy for them both, and wouldn't have it any other way, her heart ached constantly for the love that couldn't be completely hers. And so in that moment, when she knew for sure her family would be happy and safe, she left, back to the spirit realm. However, she did not know, that by leaving she had stripped Jen of some of her very life source that the girl had been relying on heavily to heal. For her daughter's heart was connected to hers. Jenn whimpered in her sleep, her breathing suddenly becoming much more strained.

He frowned, his frown only deepening as she went on. And then it became a pained grimace as he held his face in his hands, rocking it, "Oh… my dear girl…" He moaned. "Did you have to fall for a married man?" he looked up at her, clearly distressed and unsure about what to do about this all. "Sugar cake, you have neither courted nor married… and by law…" he shook his head, knowing she knew the law. "I want you happy, my dear, you know I only want you happy. But you can not choose him. It is against the law… but maybe… if we were careful… and made sure it was his choice…. then… maybe…" He mused, trying to think.

Reece closed his eyes, breathing deeply. No more physical punishment. No more lashes. No more caning. He could court Abby without fear. But it pained him deeply, the news of Holli and Abby… his best friend… trying to kill his love, and now on the death row…. he grimaced, looking considerably more pale. When his eyes opened again, they were sorrowful. "Thank you for telling me." Wincing the entire time, he lifted himself out of bed and slowly lowered himself into the wheelchair beside it, making sure all of his tubing was properly hooked up to the wheelchair, so that the IV and blood transfusion would be brought along. "Meds can wait." He ground out, trying to ignore his pain. "I need to go apologize to Abby." he said, forcing his weak arms to wheel the chair out of the hospital wing and towards Abby's room.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Topher helped her up and got her jacket wrapped around her night clothes while packing a little overnight bag for her to use in the morning. He led her to the buggy and drove back to their little quaint townhouse. Leading her to the door he set her on his bed and went to check on Joshua and Rags. Rags looked up from the floor and wagged his tail obviously recognizing the intruder "some watch dog you are...big softy!" Rags padded over for April to give him his required belly rubs and coddling, he liked her best.

Mani was startled by her whimper, he was a light sleeper as most gypsy men were to protect their woman. All instinct, he sat up frantic and checked her pulse and breathing "papa!" He yelled scared for his best friend. What went wrong? She was alright...he shouldn't have slept he should have kept watch...should have cared for her needs and not his own...
Thomas rushed over and cursed like the pirate he was, he lifted her head up trying to see if that would help her breathing "Jenn please...you can't do this...it is not your time!" He said alnost angrily feeling knocked down first his wife now his daughter he could experiance a moment of happiness without something going wrong "you can't have her!" He said to no one but of course the angry part of him thought Sada was taking her since he was having a child with Maria.

"There is not a man left papa! Not one cares for me or has found any interest...if I am to be without Hani then I'll leave the colony anyways...there isn't anything left for me...im a burden no matter how much you deny it...If Habi follows then I'll tell him to turn around...his boy needs to be raised here..." She said softly glancing at the fire "im a rebel of a gypsy clan...more of a loner then any other...I have never been loved and I never will be if I stay..."

Donavon quickly caught up and pushed the wheelchair for him, leading him to Abby's room. He glanced at the wilting withered flower next to her bed and back to her pale complexion. Pushing him beside the bed he left them alone for privacy. Young love...least this Romeo and Juliet had other key players to save their lives.

Then she left with Topher, nervous but excited to be staying the night at his place. She smiled shyly at Joshua through the doorframe, waving as Rags walked over, wagging his tail. "Hey sweet boy," She cooed, scooping him up and giving him the attention he was clearly begging for. She lay back against the head of the bed, smiling as she played with the small puppy. She couldn't get over how cute of a family this was… an adorable man, taking care of the sweetest little boy, and a puppy with eyes far too large for a normal dog.
Joshua looked up as his brother came in and he grinned. "Is April staying over?" he asked in a clear excited hushed whisper. He should be asleep, and he knew it, but he and to ask, and he couldn't pretend he wasn't awake, he knew his brother would know.

Since Habi was close by, he heard his son's plea for help and came in, immediately frowning. Gypsies tended to be more in tune with the spiritual realm and he immediately noted the difference. The whole tent felt colder. "Thomas, your daughter's spirit is weak." he said softly, looking at Jenn who was starting to wake up as each breath came in a gasping wheeze. She immediately reached out, trying to find her father and Mani, not entirely aware of anything but the pain that was gripping her. She felt so alone… so horribly alone…. "There's a … there's a hole in my heart…." She whispered, crying, mourning something she didn't know she had had.
Maria stood up, her forehead creased in worry. She could feel the shift as well. Something had left Jenn… something had caused this hole, and she had a good idea what… or whom. "Thomas… I'm sure Sada wouldn't claim her like this… not if she truly loved her daughter… but she has left, for some reason or another." She said softly. "She's not here anymore. She can't hear you." She was afraid, afraid for Jenn's sake, and afraid because she guessed why Sada had left, and it hurt her to know she pained her sister so.

Her father lowered his head into his hands again, looking suddenly weak. "My daughter… I did not say there was no way at all for you to be with you love. You will not leave this clan. I won't let you." he whispered, looking up then, and there were tears shining in his eyes. His only daughter… his only child, had just said that no one cared for her, that she would leave everything, even her own father, if she couldn't be with Habi. "He must choose you, Rachelle, and then you can be together. He must claim you. You can not choose him. But you can still be together." He said softly, hoisting himself slowly onto his old legs. He turned and looked at the fire, looking older than he usually did.

Reece thanked Donavon, knowing he wouldn't have made it without his help. A girl was already there with Abby, and though he didn't know her, he knew her to be her sister, based only on how alike they looked. She stood and left, smiling weakly at him, and he nodded his thanks, knowing he was stealing her time with her family. When he looked to Abby, his heart broke. He knew he looked awful too, but he couldn't care less. The state she was in scared him deeply. "Abby…" he whispered, reaching up to take her hand in his own taped one, "I'm so sorry…. this is my doing… I'm so sorry…" He moaned, laying his forehead on her hand.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Rags started to pad on her lap till he was comfortable, spinning in a clumsy little circle he closed his eyes with a sweet yawn and fell asleep. His little breath coming out in soft snores.
Topher chuckled and ruffled his hair "you should have been asleep Josh. But I can't blame you, I know you like it better if im home..." He sat on the edge of the bed and watched his little brother only seen by the moonlight comjng through the curtains "sorry I was late kiddo...I lost track of priorities...I promise I won't leave you home that long again...and yes April is sleeping over. I don't want either of you to be alone at night."

Mani was terrified he was losing his only friend the one that he was going to marry. Some say it's a miracle...other...too proud to know the truth but I saw it...the sacrifice the boy did. A light picked around his small dirty hand and filled the tight littke hole, starting to fill it with his love. Very soon Mani was lifeless...

Rachelle went to her papa and hekd him hold holding him closely "I love you pa...you'll always be my pa...no matter what. I'd never leave you alone..." To be claimed they had to set up her grave, a bonfire that sges be tied to waiting unless a man claims her as his own and saves and keeps her life.

Abby started to stir as if she knew he was there, she coughed gettibg get lungs working and caressing his cheek laid on her hand "there's my prince...came to break the spell..." Her voice was parched and worse obviously not been used for a while.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments April stroked Rags, smiling as he curled up and slept on her lap. She closed her eyes, resting there with the sweet little bundle of fluff, waiting for Topher to return.
Joshua smiled sheepishly. He simply nodded at his statement, for it was true. He didn't like being asleep when his brother wasn't home. "It's alright. I don't mind. You have to take care of April now too." He yawned sleepily and tucked himself down into his blankets. "thanks for coming back. I always know you will." He whispered, closing his eyes as he was quite sleepy.

Jenn was losing awareness, she only could feel the hole in her heart aching, dark, empty… and it was getting so hard to breathe. She was still crying when something warm and light started filling up the hole. She gasped, her eyes opening, her breathing suddenly much easier. Something wonderfully warm was in her heart, and she had no idea what it was. She looked around, aware and awake and breathing, but still not able to move much because of her injured arm and ankle, and she spotted Mani who was cradled in a sobbing Habi's arms. "Papa?" She whispered, frightened as her eyes grew wider. "What's wrong with him, Papa?" She cried, trying to sit up, trying to get to him.

Her father turned and hugged her, kissing her forehead. "I only want the best for you, my daughter. I only want you to be happy. I hate to see you so sad. I wish to do all that I can to help you." he said, backing away a little, so he could look at her face, searching, as if trying to find her thoughts on her face. "This is dangerous, Rachelle. Are you sure he would choose you? Are you sure this is what you want?"

Reece tucked his face against her hand, closing his eyes. "I was so scared…. when I heard you were poisoned…" he whispered, raising his head to look at her, and there was pain etched in his features, his own, and what he felt for her. "I couldn't come to you immediately, I'm so sorry. Are you ok? Are you feeling better?" He asked, taking her hand in his and squeezing it gently. He was so worried for her, and his sorrow was great. Holli would die soon, and his love was still sick by her hand.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Topher smiled as his brother fell asleep he went back in the room and picked up the fluffball tucking him in on his doggy bed and then laying by April holding her close "hi there..." He whispered pushing some strands of hair back as he watched her in the moonlight. He was so in love and so content just holding her close and keeping them warm.

Mani was sent to the spirit world he looked around confused it was so large and empty, but he knew his journey was to find Sada so she could be back with Jen and he could go back to his body. He was scared but diligent knowing he only had a few days before being buried or cremated...
Thomas kept her down and hugged her close "my girl...im so sorry..." He pressed his lips to her hair just grateful that she was alive even though he mourned the loss of the sweet boy.

Rachelle nodded "the next full moon I will be ready...he loves me papa...if he doesn't choose me why would I want to be alive? I love you papa but it hurts everyday being alone...being single as unwanted...im not getting younger or more beautiful...it's time..."

Abby nodded "im alright..." She promised running her fingers through his hair "you look worse then I do...are you in pain?...you need your medication..." She whispered and kissed his temple "I love you..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments April looked up as Topher came back in and she smiled, handing him the dog and curling up on the bed, getting comfortable beside him. Yes, he had offered the spare room, but she felt much more comfortable and safe here, with him. "Hi…" She whispered, her eyes on the wall, but her mind on his fingers in her hair. It felt so lovely, and she loved getting her hair played with. "Is Joshua alright?" She asked softly, nervous to break the moment with a voice any louder than a hushed whisper. She loved the feeling of security she gained when she was in his arms. She felt like they could own the world together, and accomplish anything.

Sada was in her usual haunt in the spirit world, a ship that had sunk and looked enough like Thomas's, that it reminded her of home. She spent her days here, when not watching over Thomas and Jenn, and now she was curled up in the captains cabin, just staring out the window, her heart aching with the constant pain that followed her everywhere.
Jenn hated being held down. Especially when Mani was too quiet and too still in Habi's arms. A dreaded thought entered her mind and she started to panic, tensing up in her father's arms. "Papa…" She whispered, tears welling up in her eyes. "Papa he's ok, right? He just needs a doctor, right?" She asked, trying to wriggle out of his grasp. "I need to go with him, I need to make sure he's alright!" Her voice grew more and more frantic as Habi stood, carrying his boy out of the tent and back into his own, where he just held him and cried over his son.

He nodded slowly, turning to his fire where he set a kettle of water over the flames. "Very well." he said, sitting down by the fire to watch the water boil. "The next full moon then." He affirmed, standing again a few moments later when the water had whistled to a nice heat. He pulled the kettle off the fire then, using a long poker like tong, and set it on the warm stone slab he used as a table. He ground up some herbs and a small amount of honey that had been collected from the bees nest, and filtered the sweet mixture into the water, pouring two mugs. "For nerves, and health." He said, handing her one mug, and sitting on the rugs with his own. It was the tea he made for her as a child.

Reece shook his head, tucking down beside her so she didn't see his expression. Yes, he was in pain. But she was his first priority. "I'll get meds when I go back again." he whispered, promising. He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it, just holding it and closing his eyes. She was alive, and never had he been more thankful for anything in his life. "I was the cause of this, Abby. My friend was jealous of you and slipped in the poison… she is on death row now." he whispered, finding it very hard to say all that, for it pained him to no end. He had been the cause of her pain, of Holli's jealousy, of her impending death.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Topher ran her blonde locks through his fingers as he took in the peaceful atmosphere. The night was still and quiet a rarity in the city if was as if London itself was respecting this moment between them. He never felt so in love with her then this right here...the moonlight shining in her hair and eyes, her soft heartbeat thudding against his chest. He realized she was talking and smiled softly "asleep...he's just fine...he said he likes having yoh over...he knows how happy you make me..."

Mani was wandering feeling very alone and scared, he missed his papa and the constant warmth of family...the caravan and crackling bright Fire. He softly started to sing the song he wrote of his people trying to find some comfort in it.
Back at the tent one of the Elders was blessing Mani's body, preparing it for the three day ritual before it would be cremated. He drew the symbols on his skin and covered his body leaving only his face out with a well decorated burial shawl.
Thomas held her close trying to keep her calm "he saved you honey...you weren't going to make it...I don't know how he did it but he filled your heart...your ok because of him...this is what he wanted honey...he'll always be with you..."

Rachelle next to her father and sipped the tea smiling "fairy tea...made you see the magic in life..." She spoke softly with a nostalgic air since that's what her papa always said. She lay her head on his shoulder "tell me about mother..." She whispered as she did everytime they drank this tea. It was tradition and the only time he spoke of her. The small memories of her childhood were comforting as she was going to be making a big step.

Abby shook her head feeling sorriwful that he did "no...Reece...no...it was her decision...she could have told you, or handled it far better then killing off the competition...her own decisions ked us here...not you...please don't blame yourself I hate seeing you so sad...and in pain..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments April kept quiet, waiting for his response about Joshua, but really, she wasn't rushed or anything, so she didn't mind just sitting there and listening to the stillness in the air. "I'm glad." She said after a moment, truly meaning that. she was glad that Joshua was alright with her staying over. After all, he was part of Topher's family, a family she hoped she could join. Besides the boy was so sweet. Both of them were. April tucked herself closer and turned her head so she could kiss him. "Goodnight, Topher. Thanks for inviting me here." She whispered, sighing happily and relaxing in his arms.

Something new was here today. Something scared and lonely. Something that sang a song that was all too familiar. Sada lifted her head and walked out onto the deck of the ship. That small boy... that was Habi's child. She frowned, rushing down and out to him, clearly worried. "Mani... what are you doing here? You're far to young to be locked up in a place such as this..." She fretted, kneeling in front of him, concerned.
Habit couldn't watch his son being prepared for burial, it was too much to bear. Of course he took this loss on himself, even though it was irrational to do so. He wandered out of the tent and into the forest, sinking to his knees and just staring at his hands. "My son..." He whispered brokenly, and wept.
Jenn seemed to take in how truly serious this was, and she went still and stopped struggling. So that was what that warmth in her heart was. It was Mani... he had filled the hole there... she scrunched her eyes up and tucked her face into her father's arms. Her soul hurt, missing the boy that had given himself to her heart. "I wish we had never come here..." she whispered softly. "Then Mani would still be alive... I wouldn't know him... but he'd still be alive..." She whispered, sniffling.

Her father's smile was a soft one, and he nodded in agreement as he cupped the mug in his aged hands and closed his eyes. "Your mother and I hated each other as children, and as young adults. But as love has a way of changing things, we started to see each other in a different light, and very soon we grew to quarrel less, and only in a playful manner. She left the tribe for a few years, to learn french and Italian, and when she came back, she was the most beautiful thing. I knew I wanted to marry her at once." he said, his voice wistful. "I picked her flowers and braved the scariest thing i would ever do.... and we courted for a few months, before marrying." he finished, opening his eyes. "I was so happy with your mother, Rachelle." he said softly, "I only ever want that kind of love for you."

Reece had to lower his head again, because he knew the tears would come soon, and he didn't want to look broken, not when she was lying in bed, still recovering from poison. But it was so hard... so hard... Holli was to die. Holli was going to be dead soon. She had tried to kill Abby. What if both of them had died? The thought made him sick. His shoulders started to shake as he heaved in a trembling breath and tucked his face against her blankets, a silent cryer, but crying none the less. Maybe meds would be a good idea after all. "I... I'm so glad... so glad you're ok..." he whispered, coughing.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn slowly sat up pulling on his shirt and padding across the cold floor to make some tea for the both of them. She glanced at the window and found snow on the ground shaking her head in amazement she brought the tray back to the bedroom "good morning Monsieur time to greet the day!" She said crawling ok the bed to kiss him good morning. She could wake up like this every day.

Mani sobbed in relief and hugged her tightly shaking "I w-was looking for you...your Jenn's mama...y-you left and she was d-dying...I had to save her...but I miss her! And papa is sad...do y-you know where my mama is?..." He didn't know that by her leaving she hurt Jenn, he was only grateful to find a familiar face in all this darkness. It was cold and he sniffled wiping his eyes.

Thomas sighed deeply his soul hurting at her wish "if we didn't come here...you wouldn't have Maria as your mama...you wouldn't have learned to sing or play the lute...hard things have come upon us but good things too..." He dried her tears knowing it wasn't good time to tell about the baby.
Rachelle loved hearing the story but sadness crept along the camp mourning the little boy. She stood shocked and ran to the tent to find Mani's body along where was Habi? She couldn't decide whether to go after him or protect his son touching the poor boy's head she cried softly stroking his hair. Three days. That was the time a soul could come back according to their beliefs he still had time...so she set up a prayer circle and just prayed with every ounce of energy she could.

Abby slowly lifted him up and cutled him into her arns as she just held him, allowing him to cry and mourn his friend. She motioned for Elka in the hall "tell your to be husband to take her off of death row..." She said seriously knowing that Reece would break if he lost his friend because of this. She stroke his hair and pressed her lips to his "it's all going to be alright..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew slept in that morning, finding himself peaceful and relaxed for once. He woke to a soft whisper that just brightened his world and a smile broke out on his features as he slowly opened his eyes to look at her. "Good morning love. You're up bright and early." he commented, catching her lips with his before he propped himself up on an elbow, looking around. "And look at that... it's beginning to look like Christmas." Christmas was always a wonderful time of year, even if it was still a few weeks off. People started to get into the spirit, and it was always a jolly thing.

Sada's heart squeezed up. For that was the thing. Even though she and this little boy were both 'dead', it didn't mean they were numb. She could still feel, and feel quite acutely. She had no idea that by leaving the earth she had hurt Jenn so. Her poor daughter. She almost started sobbing then and there. Would the torture never end? But she held it together for the boy's sake, as he was obviously frightened. She took his hand in hers and squeezed it gently. "You're safe, we'll find a way for you to go back." She promised, standing again. "And I think I know where to find your mother."

Jean knew, distantly, that there were still happy things. But right now, it felt like there weren't any happy things at all. And to a child, that was the most devastating feeling to feel. She didn't respond, but in her head, she was thinking that the good things weren't worth it, when her heart hurt this much. She tucked herself against her father again and closed her eyes, trying to go to sleep so she could dream. Even a nightmare would be better than this.
His wife gone... his son gone... none of his family left. Habit felt alone, and being alone in the woods just sent home the feeling. And the problem was that there was no one for him to feel angry at. No one to blame. No one to gain revenge on. He was just lost and alone. He knelt on the leaves, holding his head in his hands. "Sariah..." He moaned softly. "Forgive me if I think of joining you both."

Reece was ashamed of his tears, he was. But he couldn't help them. His mother didn't even know yet, that he had been whipped, and it had been a full night. His friend was going to die. His love was sick in bed... and yet she was still reassuring him. He kept his face tucked against her, and with his taped hand, he gently took hers and held it, trying to gain strength again. "I'm sorry..." he whispered, this time apologizing for the state he was in, for not being able to comfort her, for not being good for anything at all really, as he was here a wounded crying mess.
Ella nodded, leaving the pair to go implore Donavon to free this murderous friend of Reece's.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn snuggled up to him sipping the coffee and watching the snow flurry outside the window "it does doesn't it? It's nice to not worry about going to school. Is it cold where your brother is? Should I save up for a new coat?" She asked looking up at him and nuzzling his neck. She loved how warm and strong he was. She leaned in and nipped his jaw "when are we leaving?"

Mani looked up hopefully and smiled "I want to meet her..." He held onto her hand tightly as they headed to see his mother. He quickly ran to the well known woman though they never really knew eachother. He hugged her tight burying his face in her chest "mum!" He was feeling some happiness again and a smile slowly appeared on his face.

Rachelle headed to the forest and heard him her heart breaking at the thought "Habi...please...don't consider it, I know you miss them terribly but there is still time for him to come back Habi...I've been praying eagerly for him to come back...please don't go...please..." Tears streamed down her face as she stayed back to give him room. She knew now that their love wasn't to be but she would be there for him always.

Abby shook her head sitting up and holding his hand tightly as she called for the nurse to get him medication. She pushed his hair back shaking her head "don't be sorry my darling...it's ok...we'll be just fine...im feeling so much better and your back will heal... Your mum was notified and she will be visiting soon..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew nodded, leaning back against the headboard beside her, his eyes on the snow as he sipped his coffee. "It will be cold. Colder than London, for sure. But not enough for a new coat. Just good mitts, a hat, and a scarf." He said, glancing over at her to smile. "We leave in three days... so that should give you time to shop for some, if you do not have any." He offered. "I would offer you mine, but they'd be too large... and they aren't very feminine either." he said, his smile warming.

Sada nodded, leading him to the daisy fields that his mother usually stayed in. Just like Sada had her 'happy place' on the ship, Sariah felt more at home here, among the flowers. She looked up to see her boy and her face lit up with emotion as she clutched him to her, crying and kissing his head. "My boy... Oh my sweet sweet boy..." She whispered, tucking him against herself. "What are you doing down here? You're far too young..." She shook her head. "No... don't tell me of that... tell me about you. Tell me about the happy things." Sada smiled meekly and stepped back, giving them some space. She herself, felt nothing but sorrow, as she had nearly killed her child, and had evidently killed her friend's child as well.

Habi had not heard her approach, and so he startled slightly, when he heard her voice. Of course, he would not actually enact on his comment. He merely thought of it as a possibility... thought of what it might be like... He lifted his head, his eyes hollow looking, and lacking their shine. But they were pained, and they grew even more pained at the sight of Rachelle's tears. For though he loved his family deeply, he also cared for her as well, and her pain pained him further. "Please don't." he whispered. "Please don't cry." His son wasn't coming back... But that didn't mean he wanted to see her sad.

His mother was coming. Well that was a relief. He wouldn't have to explain this whole thing alone. Hopefully she wouldn't be too horrified by what had happened. Reece lay his head on her lap, closing his eyes as the tears ran out. Now he just felt... still. Like he was supposed to feel something, but couldn't. Like he had used up all his emotions. The nurses came in and he winced as they slid in another needle, hooking him up to yet another IV. Except this one, he approved of, for moments later, the pain started to lessen as the drugs helped him go numb. "I'll always have scars, love." he whispered. Could she live with that? His flesh was marred... forever a reminder.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn smiled "I'll take April with me, she is a far better shopper then I could be. I usually shop in the men's department...it's more comfortable. It shames her im sure...she will be thrilled to push me into dressing rooms trying on fashionable pieces...might be an early Christmas gift!" She lay on his chest just taking in the warmth "is your brother thinking about children? Or does he like it just with his wife?"

Mani hugged her close sniffling into her flowing white gown "I miss you mama...papa misses you more then anything...he's all alone...I have to go back to make sure he's happy...and Jenn, she's my best friend she's going to be sad too! Mama...there has to be a way...I don't want to stay here...I wanna go home!" He hated complaining but this was too much to understand for a little boy. He sacrificed his life for his friend because it was the right thing to do but now...he couldn't go home and that was scary.

Rachelle shook her head drying her tears and looking deep into those usually soulful eyes "you can't give up on him...you have to have faith that he could journey back...I've seen miracles and every miracle needs faith...im going to keep praying...because I'm horrible at comfort and this is something I can do...to not feel so helpless."
Thomas tucked in Jenn as she dosed off and put his head on her stomach "no matter what she says...coming here was the greatest thing that could have happened to us...we'd be far worse without being with you and the clan...she's jusf hurting..."

Abby watched him closely and felt some relief as he seemed to from the drug. She slowly lifted his shirt off so she could see the marks and just hold him skin to skin "you didn't leave me from my scars...im not leaving you because of yours..." She promised and looked up to see Joy and gave a soft smile "thought you forgot about me..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew chuckled, "I never said there was anything wrong with mens clothes. If there were, we'd have a serious problem on our hands." he said, smiling lightly at her. He twined his fingers with hers and pecked her cheek. "I'm sure April would love that." he agreed. "If you can manage to steal her away from Topher for the day." he said, smiling lightly. "I sent a maid to your place... to check on her. And apparently she wasn't there. She left a note saying she was staying at his place." he said softly, a playful light in his eyes.

Sariah ran her fingers through her boy's hair, nodding. "I miss you both everyday of this life." She whispered, holding his shoulders so she could look down at him. "You're becoming quite the brave little man, and I am so proud of you." she closed her eyes and cupped her hands for a moment, holding out her cupped hands to him as her eyes opened. "Here Mani... this is what you need to go back. This is what you gave to the girl." she said, opening the palms of her hands to reveal a little light, which she pressed into his chest. "Take care of it, Mani... for that is my love. It will guide you and keep you on the right path."

Habi closed his eyes, knowing that giving up was exactly what he was doing. And he shouldn't he shouldn't give up on his family. But the sorrow was so great, it was easy to just mourn them there and then. And she was promising to pray, promising to help... he stood slowly, forcing himself to his feet as he walked to her and sighed. "Thank you, Rachelle... I'm sorry. For how I am." He whispered, leaning his head on his shoulder. "I... just... seeing him there, dead was..." He shook his head, his voice cracking. He couldn't go on.
Maria law with Thomas, playing with his hair. She had heard what Jenn had said and she felt sick. Yes she wouldn't have known Thomas if he hadn't come here... but. the fact that Jenn was hurting so... it broke her heart. "I know..." She whispered softly, closing her eyes. "the poor girl..." She looked at him then. "But Thomas, she might have a point.... you are a captain..." and far too good to be a gypsy.

Reece didn't resist as she tugged his shirt off. If he hadn't been on drugs, he might have flinched away. But there was no point now. He was touched to hear her say she wouldn't be leaving, just because of his scars. So he closed his eyes and let himself relax.
Joyella saw the topless boy on Abby's bed, his back torn up, and she bit her lip, cautiously walking into the room. "I'm sorry... I... I had to have a doctor's appointment... after last night... and then I came out to hear that you had... that..." She shook her head, swallowing hard. "I came to see if you were alright..." She whispered, looking down in shame. Today had been a very long day, and she wasn't sure if Abby was still mad at her or not.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn smiled turning her head to peck his lips, she was glad that he didn't care much about what she wore. She didn't like shopping and she didn't like the fear that came with wearing women's dresses and nice things. Fear of ruining them or flashing someone unintentionally. She couldn't focus or work hard with a corsett. She looked up afraid as he said she wasn't there and then sighed in relief "thank you for checking up on her...im sure she had an enjoyable time last night as well." She winked rolling on top of him again "I know that I did..."

Mani felt the tightness leave his heart and open with a warm glow that shone out his eyes. He hugged her tightly and nuzzked her neck not wanting to say goodbye either but he felt his pull going back to his body. "I promise mama I'll make you proud...I'll take care of papa and make sure he is always happy...I pronise..." He whispered and his skin and body sparkled like fireflies starting his long journey back to his body.

Rachelle held him close running her fingers through his long hair and kissed his chest "I kniw...I know...I can't imagine what you are feeling...having lost your wife and now son...but there is still so much to live for...it fakes time...but if i were Mani...id rather have my dad protecting me then Elder's or an unknown woman...it's part of the healing...he needs you to let him know that it's ok..,that you'll be ok..."

Jenn will make new friends and yes it'll hurt for a long time...but we move on...I know that without the stern but guiding hand of my brother I wouldn't have left the room...I would have died along with her..."

Abby looked over at Reece and caressed his cheek "can you give me a moment with me dear friend? Im sure your mother is at the hospital wondering where you are...come back though, I get lonely without you." She kissed him tenderly and helpef him put his shirt back on as Donavon came in and helped him back in the wheelchair and to his room wgere his mother was frantically pacing, never been so worried in all of her life.
Abby slowly sat up against the pillows and pat her bed for her best friend "what was the doctor'a appointment like...are you? Oh my gosh please say that you aren't having a baby?" She was thoroughly concerned nothing but love for her best friend wanting to hear all about it.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew chuckled, finding it sorely tempting to just stay in bed with her. But he knew he had to get up, they both did, if they wanted to do anything nice today. "Come on, love. The coffee was nice, but my stomach is begging for some food." He pecked her lips, lifting her with him off the bed and into the kitchen. "Now... what are you hungry for?" he asked, glancing around at his kitchen. He hardly remembered what he had stocked in the cupboards, but he knew he had food, and that was all that mattered. "I think I still have a bag of oats somewhere... we could make oatmeal?" He suggested.

Sariah's eyes teared up and she hugged her son to herself, committing this moment to memory, for she knew it would be a good many years before she saw him again, and he would no longer look like this. He would lose his innocence and become a man. She pulled away after a moment, looking him in the eye. "I know, my boy. I know. I am so proud of you." She kissed his cheek. "Follow your heart Mani, and don't forget to find your own happiness." She whispered, a tear running down her cheek as Mani dissolved from her hands.

Habi allowed himself the moment of comfort of being held by her. He knew he didn't deserve it, that he was being horribly selfish, but it still helped his aching heart to know that someone was still there for him. That he wasn't completely alone. That there was something still to live for. He nodded resolutely then, trying to gain composure as he walked back to the tent. He knew his son deserved that. "Don't go, Rachelle, please." he whispered, looking at her pleadingly as he pushed into the tent and braced himself, looking down at his still boy. He knelt by him, taking his hand and rubbing his thumb over the back of it, promising himself, Rachelle, and his son silently that he would be strong.
Maria closed her eyes, leaning her head on his shoulder, knowing that Sada's death had strongly affected him. She still saw it sometimes, and she was only glad that she could bring him the joy she wished for him. "I love you Thomas, and I am so glad you are still here today to hear me say that." She whispered, tucking herself up against him and resting her hand on her stomach.

Reece nodded, understanding that she needed some time with her friend. "Don't go anywhere." he whispered, allowing himself to be helped back into the wheelchair, arranging all the tubes again and getting pushed back to the hospital room where he saw his mother pacing. He smiled meekly, managing to roll himself a little closer. "Hi mum." he whispered, not liking to see her so distressed. He was worried that she would be angry with him, for being so foolish and getting whipped.
Joyella sighed in relief when she saw that Abby didn't look angry and she immediately walked over and sat on the bed beside her, leaning back like old times. "I'm not pregnant, no, and thank goodness for that. But the appointment was just about the scariest thing I've ever experienced, besides thinking you had died, of course." She remarked, shaking her head. "It would have been horrible if I was having a child though, could you imagine? I felt so sick at the idea... Mother and Father would have murdered Ren for sure."

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn softly laughed and pulled out oats, cinnamon and some sugar. She got the cream mixed in with the oats in a pot on the stove. "Darling I think we shall go to the market and I shall teach you to cook." She pecked his cheek and served the oatmeal sitting at the table and smiling over at him "maybe one day we can live together and I'll cook for you every day." She nuzzled him and blew on the hot oatmeal.

Mani started to wake up, once he felt the touch of his father. He stirred and squeezed his fingers weakly "papa?..." He whispered. Rachelle started to cry in relief and stepped away to give the boys some time. She hugged onto her father "there are miracles...so wonderful!" She said overjoyed and went to spread the news throughout the camp "Maria...Thomas...Mani is alive!"
Thomas grinned and pecked her lios going over to his daughter and softly waking her up "Jenn honey...Mani is back...he's awake and alive...don't be sad anymore my darling..."

Flora hugged her son softly and shook her head as silent tears splashed down her face "I was so worried...about you...I thought you were gone...is there anything I can get you? How's the girl you love? Is she alright?...oh my boy you look so tired...you should rest..." She tucked the blankets around her son hoping it helped.
Abby leaned her head on her friend's shoulder "im hoping to never have it...so what happened? With Ren? Do you love him? Or was it just the moment?...if he's not good for you I'll murder him! He took away your virginity Joy...are you ok?"

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew started a pot of boiling water on the stove, shooting an indignant glance in her direction. "I can cook!" he protested, thinking he could cook just fine. "I can... I can make spaghetti!" He said, sitting down with her at the table after the oatmeal was made. He added some brown sugar to the top of his bowl and grinned, glancing sideways at her. "Though I'll pretend I can't if you'd stay and cook for me." He tried the oatmeal, and grudgingly noted how much better it was than what he usually made. "Pretty good, love, pretty good..."

Habi jerked in shock when his boy stirred and then spoke. He... he was alive! A choked sound escaped him as he scooped up Mani, hugging him. "My boy..." he whispered, tucking his face against him, kissing his forehead. "Oh my boy..."
Her father simply smiled as he watched. "That boy's a strong one." he said, squeezing his daughter's hand. "So's his father." he commented, glancing at her. "You picked a good man, Rachelle." he said softly, letting her go to tell the camp.
Jenn groggily opened her eyes, blinking. She became immediately alert at the news of Mani and she tried to get up. "Where is he!? I have to see him! I have to! Papa, please, let me go see him!" She begged, trying to get her legs to work and get her off the table so she could go to Mani.

Reece hugged his mother, finding a sense of comfort in being hugged, just like he did when he was a small child. "I'm sorry Ma... I'm sorry for worrying you." he whispered, squeezing her and then letting her go as she fussed, tucking blankets around him and bustling about. His expression softened. "No, Ma, I'm ok. It's ok. Sit. Don't tire yourself. Abby's alright, thankfully. And so am I. Drugs are a wonderful thing, don't worry. I'm serious." he insisted. He worried for her too.
Joy sighed, half from relief, and half from tiredness. "Well... I'm still reeling, to be honest. I love him, Abby, I really do. But I didn't mean for it to go that far... One minute he was... he was kissing me like no one has ever done before... it was..." She shook her head. "I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. One minute it was that, and then you were knocking on the door in the morning...." She shook her head, swallowing. "It never would have happened if I didn't love him, but still... it's all rather sudden..." She admitted. "So... I don't know... I guess I'm ok. Just a little dizzy."

She pecked his lips and squeezed his hand before putting the excess oats away and cleaned up the kitchen.

Topher smiled and made some breakfast for his brother and girlfriend "Josh come on get up! You are going to be late, your sweater and slacks are clean and draped on the back of the chair." He grabbed the crispy bacon from the stove and fed Rags with it. He grabbed the eggs and made a little tray for April to have in bed with a snow lilly on her plate.

Mani held him tightly and rested his head against his neck never wanting to let go "papa I missed you...I was scared..." He whispered and kissed his cheek "why are you crying?..." He was worried about his dad and Jenn...but she was probably asleep...he hoped she was resting and healing.
Thomas grabbed her crutch and helped her slowly walk to the tent, he smiled seeing the pale boy have color and his best friend have a tearful smile on his face. This is what he came for...family. He hoisted her on his shoulders and walked in "Jenn wanted to make sure it was true...she was scared."

Flora sat at his side and smiled playing with his taped hand and brushing his hair back "drugs...don't get addicted son..they are only fun for a moment. Im glad that everyone is ok..." She pressed a ring into his hand "when I heard what you did for that girl I knew that you'd need this...it was the one thing your father left for you...she's the one son..."
Abby shook her head and bit her lip "im terfified of sex...of him seeing me...all my scars and my frail body...I just don't know Joy, I love him so much it hurts. Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew chuckled, glancing over at her. "Oh most divine Brooklyn, would you please be my room mate permanently, and make sure I don't die a horrible death due to disgusting food..." He pleaded, following her into the kitchen with their dirty dishes, which he helped wash and put away, before helping her with cleaning up the kitchen. He didn't usually think much about his food... it was usually just something he made to survive, but now that he had good food, he didn't want anything else.

There was a scrabble of nails on the floor as both Josh and Rags burst into the kitchen, running to the table where Josh sat and started to gobble down his food, tossing bits and pieces to Rags as his brother fed the clearly happy dog as well. "thamks..." he mumbled, jumping up again and running back to his bedroom to get dressed out of his PJ's and into his school clothes. April blinked her eyes sleepily and looked up as Topher entered the room with a steaming tray of food and she gasped, lifting herself upright. "Oh... you didn't need to do all that for me!" She said, her eyes shining.

Habi hugged Mani to him, brushing his hair back and smiling down at his boy. "Well now you're back." he said, wiping hastily at the tears that had formed in his eyes. "I'm just happy, Mani... so happy to see you alive and awake again." he admitted, nuzzling his boy, and looking up then. "Seems we have visitors..." He smiled lightly.
Jenn had managed to hobble very slowly over to Mani's tent, and when she got there, she was exhausted, and pained, but so thrilled to see Mani sitting up. He had strange marks all over his skin, and he still looked pale, but he was alive... "Mani..." She breathed, tearing up.

Reece chuckled, leaning his head against his mother's. "I promise I will not become dependant on drugs." he vowed, letting out a sigh of relief as he finally started to relax for the first time that day. Then he looked down at the little thing in his hand and his heart constricted. His grandmother's ring... "Thank you, Mama, this means the world to me." he whispered, kissing her cheek. He was near to tears again, and this time he wasn't ashamed.
Joy shook her head, taking her friend's hand in her own. "Don't be afraid... it is the most beautiful thing. You can do it without having a child you know." She smiled, squeezing her hand gently. "And if he won't accept you just the way you are, then he's not worth it, Abby. But if he really loves you, he wouldn't leave you for anything. Not even scars or a frail body." She insisted. "I know I still get scared, so it's ok. I can relate. We'll get through this... both of us. It's an adventure, I suppose. Like the ones we had when we were children." She smiled lightly, hoping to encourage her.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn smiled and nodded wrapping her arms around his neck and kisding him tenderly "of course now you get to help me move..." She teased and pecked his nose going to get the newspaper outside. She shook the snow from her tangled hair and plopped on his seat putting the pipe playfully between her lips as she pretended to read the baby "darling bring me my slippers." She quoted from my fair lady the book they were reading together at the moment.

Topher rolled his eyes "one day you will realize that nothing is too grand to show you my love. Joshua stole some of your bacon so I do apologize for that but the rest is delicious and will make my little dancer strong for her first class today!" He said excited and kissed her forehead "I got your dance stuff cleaned and all the dancers and I pitched in and we got you some new ballet shoes...I talked to the other ballerinas and they directed to me to the famous Pierre who has quite a temper may I just say..." He teased grinning ear to ear as he presented them to her.

Mani eagerly reached out for his dearest friend, with some help from the Elders and his papa he walked to her and just held her close. He found himself crying and that was odd because he wasn't sad. He was so happy and...warm. He laughed and wiped his tears "im a sappy mess like you papa..."
Thomas smiled watching the reunion and pulled Maria to his side and pecked her cheek "see...now that's the problem. We have competition. I think they may love eachother more then we live eachother." He teased and squeezed her waist as he cleared his throat "I think this is a good time as any but Maria is carrying my child!" He said thrilled glad that the emotion of joy was the most prominant for now. It was sacred and even through trials he never had been so happy.

Flora pat his cheek and smiled softly "I raised a good boy, you've become a very good man...now how will you propose? I must make sure that you do it right, with just a bit of magic..." She sat by his side and pulled out a paper and fountain pen ready to write ideas for him.
Abby smiled softly and nodded "your right...just another adventure...when did we become the ones in love? I mean it's our siblings supposed to be planning the Royal wedding. But im so in love...and I know im young but...I've never felt this way, and I don't think I ever will with another person...your lucky, you had your husband picked out. People were expecting you to fall in love with your prince...my mother will not be pleased that im in love with a gardener."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew chuckled and watched her grab the paper and pipe. “You’re too cute.” He commented, on her recital of my fair lady lines. He scooped her up and plopped into his chair, setting her down on his lap. “I don’t happen to have any slippers handy,” he pecked her cheek. “But I think I make a good cushion.” He smiled against her cheek and wrapped his arms around her, reading the paper from over her shoulder. “Do tell… what is the news from this morning?” He asked, skimming over it. “More stock market nonsense and news of the economy?” He joked, shaking his head. “Or… maybe there’s news of the royal family.”

April shook her head, amazed and touched that he would put together such a lavish meal just for her. It really was just a simple breakfast, but the act of him making it and bringing it to her, meant the world. It could have been a diamond worth millions, and meant less to her than this did. And when he brought out the shoes, she really did tear up, her heart cracking and melting at the same time at such a thoughtful gesture. “Oh…” She whispered, taking them and holding them against herself. They were so new, so full of potential. “Thank you.” She reached out and pulled him into a hug, tucking her face against his shirt to hide her tears. She was so happy she was crying, and she didn’t think she had ever had one of those moments before. “Thank you, so much.”

Habi chuckled, standing back as Jenn and Mani embraced. “It’s ok to be a sappy mess sometimes, son.” He said, smiling at Maria and Thomas.
Jenn clutched Mani to herself tightly, clearly thrilled that he was alive. “I was so worried…” She gasped, squeezing him tight, “They told me you were dead…that you weren’t ever coming back… they said you died for me.” She sniffled, wobbling a little, but managing to stay up. “Don’t ever ever do that again.” She said, her voice breaking.
Maria smiled, finding her own eyes stinging with potential tears at how touching the two were. “Love is not something to compete over…” She whispered, squeezing his hand and leaning his head against his shoulder. “We have a different sort of love than they do, yes, but it doesn’t make it any less strong.” She assured.
Habi gasped, happy for them both, and he walked over with the other adults to pat him on the back, and congratulate them both. Jenn would have reacted, but she hadn’t heard her father, not when her attention was so focused on Mani.

Reece smiled lightly, and then took one look at the pen and paper and groaned, rubbing a hand over his eyes. “Mama!” he complained, shaking his head. But he would allow her to help him plan, for she was his mother, and he looked up to her, besides, maybe a female perspective was a good idea. “I thought of doing it at the little restaurant she likes… or in the glen down the lane, while the snow is falling.” He mused, not really sure about any of his ideas… they were just tentative thoughts after all.
Joyella shook her head slowly, closing her eyes. “I have no idea… we grew up far too fast.” She agreed, thinking about all their times as young children, and now, how everything was changing so fast. “Don’t count me as too lucky. I’m the one who has to go explain to my mother sometime about why I missed breakfast.” She sighed. “But I think I’ll leave that conversation for after Ren and I are married…” she mused, smiling lightly over at her friend. “You know I didn’t always want to be betrothed. In fact I hated it. I dreamed about running away with a stable boy… or a gardener. It would seem we switched dreams.” She smiled at her.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn laughed and snuggled closer as they read the paper together "oh very nice, King Donavon proposed to Duchess Ella. Aw look at their cute pictures! Does every member of the Royal family have to be so beautiful? I mean just once I'd like to see an ugly queen." She said smirking back at him and pecking his lips "I think we are cuter then them though. I mean they have to sneak around to get a kiss...and I can make out with you whenever and wherever I please!"

Topher ran his fingers through her hair and hekd her closely as she cried. He pressed his lips to her head and stroke her hair hair back away from her face "im glad you are happy my love...now eat up while I get your bag pulled together. Your class starts in an hour and I suggest you be there a bit earlier to stretch and get used to it again. It has been a couple of months but I'm sure it'll just be second nature as always."

Mani smiled and pushed her hair away from her face as he supported her arm to make sure she wouldn't fall "I did...but my mum saved me...she gave me her life just like your mummy did for you...I saw her, she looks just like you...and she loves you and your pa so much!" He assured and led her to the wooden stool to sit and rest. Watching everyone gather around Jenn's parents he frowned "what's going on?"
Rachelle smiled through the crowd she could sneak her hand in and squeeze Habi's without anyone seeing. The full moon was in a few days and she was nervous but if it was meant to be he will choose her...if not then...better to have lost tgen never love at all.

Flora shook the pencil at her son "this is the one wedding I will get to help with Reece! I want to be a part of it. I think both sound lovely but what about something with flowers? It was your connection at first...and I thought it was so sweet when you got her that flower for her room. Oh don't look at me like that, gossip travels quick around here."
Ren stepped in and raised a brow "I didn't expect to walk into that." He pecked Joy's cheek "hi little Rose." He bowed to Abby "I hope your grace will feel better soon...I am going to take my bride to be for the day. I think your sister has wedding plans for you to go over."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew looked over the pictures with her and he smiled at all the seemingly candid and happy photos of the new royal couple. "Can't say we didn't see that one coming..." he commented, pecking her cheek. "I certainly am glad we aren't royals for that very reason." he agreed, chuckling softly. "I like that you aren't like other ladies who shy away from these topics, love." he admitted, playing with her hair. "It certainly makes you amusing to talk with." He teased, stealing a kiss from her. "I love you." he whispered. "And I mean that."

April nodded, still tucked against him, and then pulled back, swiping at her eyes as she smiled shakily at him, still quite shocked and overcome, but so happy. "Right." She nodded. "Breakfast." She knew that was important if she wanted to manage to stay upright today for her lesson. She would definitely need a good amount of energy. She picked up the tray and put it on her lap, starting to swallow down the delightful food that Topher had mixed up for her. "Do you work today?" she asked, between bites. She knew he didn't work everyday, and she wasn't sure if this was one of his days off or not.

Jean allowed herself to be lead over to the stool where she sat and pulled him down beside her, leaning her head on his shoulder. She felt sadness at the mention of her mother, and she closed her eyes, trying to imagine her. "I wish I could have met her..." She whispered. She opened her eyes again as people started crowding her parents. She heard a couple words that mad her eyes widen. "Baby!?" She repeated.
Maria smiled softly and broke from the crowd, coming over to kneel by Jenn. "You'll get a little sibling, Jenn, are you happy?" she asked, looking hopefully at her.
Jenn thought for a moment. "I... I always wanted a sibling..." she admitted, smiling at last.
Habi felt someone squeeze his hand and he glanced over at Rachelle, smiling at her. He mouthed 'thank you', knowing he wouldn't have gotten through this without her help. He wanted some time to talk with her, but he knew that would have to wait until all of this had settled down.

Reece smiled lightly, not complaining anymore. "I know, mum, I was teasing. You can help." he promised. Flowers... It was true. Flowers had started their relationship... maybe it would be sweet to include them. "I could float some petals out on that pond out back, and fill a boat with flowers... and row her out..." he suggested, mulling over that thought. It would certainly be sappy and over the top, but Abby seemed to secretly like that.
Joyella blushed as Ren walked in just as they were talking about him, and she shook her head, catching his lips. "You weren't meant to hear that conversation..." She scolded, climbing out of bed and re-tucking the covers around her friend. "I'm sorry, Abby, but I guess I have to go. Will you be ok here with your sister?" She asked, not liking leaving her, but also eager to spend time with Ren, since they hadn't been able to at all, not since last night. She slipped her hand into his.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn flushed embarrased at his words but her smile became warm as she softly kissed him back caressing his stubble on his cheek "and I love you...not just physically, I honestly feel more comfortable speaking about the physical aspects...those I can explain. But the emotions and warmth...the emotional and spiritual aspects...those I cannot...and it frightens me but never for long..." She rested her forehead against his just taking in his warmth and scent and loving every moment.

Topher was munching on his bacon as she spoke again "no, not today. I think I'll go to the market and grab some food...maybe start Christmas shopping. Did you hear that Danial gave me an immense raise. It is a pity bonus but still, im not complaining...we have been very blessed...I cant believe a few months ago we were begging on the streets...not enough food to feed two boys and a scrawny pup." He smiled up at her "now I'm more blessed then I ever thought possible..."

Thomas pulled his girl in his arms and just hugged her closely as he smiled down at her his eyes glowing with un-shed tears. "Im glad you are happy little one...you'll be a big help and a wonderful big sister...it is way past your bedtime...but I think it'll be alright if you stay with Mani..." He knew she didn't want to leave his side now that he was back and ok.
Rachelle smiled softly but part of the process of the choosing was she could not speak to him once she makes the decision. It's to make the emotion raw. If it wasn't love the man would be angry that he was shunned and get revenge. A true heart loves even without words or any correspondence, nothing could make him choose another.

Flora considered it and nodded "it's an idea...I was thinking about a bouquet of different flowers with a note tied to the stems telling her why you love her. The final flower could have the ring hiding inside. But darling it's your proposal do what your heart tells you." She pecked his forehead pushing his hair back "you need rest...till I see that light back in your eyes you rest..."
Abby smiled and nodded "think I'll be taking a walk soon which im looking forward to. Have fun with your betrothed...remember this morning and how you never want to go through that again...even if he is the handsomest bachelor Prince." She teased whispering in her ear as she pecked her cheek not at all put off that she was leaving. She was excited to spend time with her sister planning a wedding! She loved planning and designing.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Matthew nodded, squeezing her hand gently to indicate that he understood as she talked. When she had explained, he pecked her cheek. "I know... you are a doctor after all." he shrugged. "And I promise, I'm fine with it." he tucked his chin on top of her head and smiled. "I'm just glad I can learn something new with you, in the emotional sort of sense, as you mentioned. Makes for some adventure." he glanced down at her, smiling.

April nodded, knowing she would miss him, but in all honesty, she wouldn't have seen him much anyways, as he would be working if he was there, and so would she. Besides, he deserved a day off, and it was always wonderful fun to go Christmas shopping. "Certainly is a miracle." she said softly, her heart constricting a little as she thought about what sort of circumstance he must have come from if this was lavish now. It made her feel so guilty about her own way of life. "I'm happy that I get to be a part of that blessing." she said honestly, finishing up her breakfast.

Jenn nodded, hugging her father tightly. The news was certainly a shock, and she knew she would have to think over it quite a bit, analyzing every possible outcome, before she decided exactly how she felt about it. But over all, she was very happy, and with Mani being back again, she was absolutely elated. "Oh thank you father!" she squeaked, immediately going to slide under the furs obediently. Bedtime wasn't so bad if she was with Mani! She patted the furs beside her and smiled brightly. "Come on!" She said in a hushed whisper. "I'm sure we can talk for a bit after they blow the candles out."
Habi was a little surprised that she wasn't as talkative as normal, but he didn't count it as anything odd, so he just went back to watching the family converse about their new coming child, and then send the kids to bed. "Don't stay up too late talking." He cautioned, for everyone had heard Jenn's hushed whisper.

Reece closed his eyes, imagining what that would look like, imagining how Abby might like it, imagining what sorts of flowers he would use, and he smiled, opening his eyes again to glance at his mother. "That does sound like quite a lovely option." He agreed, slightly annoyed that he was being babied, but not complaining. "Only a few minutes." he insisted. "I don't want to sleep too long, in case Abby needs me." He wasn't sure when Abby would finish talking with Joyella and call for him again. Ella came in again as Joyella walked out with her betrothed, arm looped through his. "So..." She whispered, "Any particular reason why you stole me away from my best friend?" She arched up one eyebrow.
Ella sat by her sister and smiled pulling out the wedding books, getting ready to show her sister more pictures and options.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Brooklyn smiled and pulled him down for a tender deep kiss, the kind that made her toes curl and her heart stopping beating for a moment. She leaned in nose to nose and smiled softly her eyes still closed "I think I found some magic..." Which is what he said to her when she shared those chocolates with him on the train those few months ago. She pulled back to check the time "I should call April make sure she is alright...I've never been away from her this long." she admitted and but her thumbnail looking for the number of the small bungalo Topher lived at.

Topher grabbed the plate and pecked her cheek as he hurriedly cleaned up the kitchen and ushered Joshua off to school "be good, learn lots and be respectful to the teacher. I don't want you to come home with a sore bottom." He said seriously and watched him run off to meet his friends. He got dressed and smiled at April "need a ride to the studio? Or shall we walk?"

Mani hugged his father tightly and smiled "I love you papa...I'll see you in the morning and I'm very tired I won't stay up too late." He promised as he snuggled in next to Jen being very cautious about her injuries as he yawned pulling the fur up to his face and holding his wooden horse. His toy his father made for him when he was shunned it was his favorite and he always had it with him.
Rachelle ushered everyone out and went to her father's tent and say by him near the fire "what if I am not a good mother for Mani? He's such a good boy and he deserves the best...I know nothing of children...and especially boys..."

Ren smiled pecking her lips "thought that we could go to town, maybe shop a little show the world we are courting and very much in love. It would be good for image and quite enjoyable...I'll buy you some pretty things." He promised kisding her hand and looping his arm with hers.
Abby watched the pictures flip in the magazine eagerly "oh look at the flowers! What flowers will you use? Im sure Reece would find the best for you...look at the doves...I always wanted butterflies to be released when I said I do...but doves are so elegant and Royal...what of your wedding night?"
