McKensie and Lara III

Lacey smiled "hate to pry but that is female writing and your face is full of glee...who is she? A girlfriend a lover? I'm a gossip im sorry and I love a good love story! Look at Jack and dear Clara..."

Freddie chuckled, slipping the note into his pocket as he nodded. "I met a woman on my break. Amalie O'Mally." He said honestly, shrugging. "I'm not sure I'll have any time for relationships, but it is nice to have found a friend." he said honestly. "And I am happy for Jack and Clara's sake. He really needed that push to keep going, and well, God knows she needed love."

Lydia pulled James into the hospital room and smiled "he can hear James...he heard me..." She said tears streaming down her cheeks. She went to the waiting room where Illiana and Ella were "he can hear." She said hugging her best friend tightly. She smiled at Ella you can go see him honey he was asking about you..."
Lacey smiled "how wonderful! And if you need time to be together just ask I can watch him he seems to be out of the woods now...go see Her!" She insisted pushing him to the carriage "ask my husband I don't take no for an answer!"

James shook his head, amazed, and went to see his son, speaking with him and grinning in excitement as he watched him identify different sounds for the first time. It was just about the cutest thing ever, and he was so glad he got to experience it.
Iliana smiled, hugging Lydia. "I'm so happy for you all." She said honestly. "What a miracle. Donovan must be thrilled."
Ella brightened up and peeked into the room, coming up shyly to see Donovan. "Hi." She said, sitting beside him as James left them and returned to Lydia.
Freddie shook his head. "What is with everyone and trying to set me up these days?" he chuckled. "No offence or anything. It's refreshing." He tipped his hat to her and rode away, going back to the bar. He leaned against the counter and smiled when he saw Amalie. "I was going to send you a reply… but I figured I could give it in person…" he started.

Donavon smiled at her they were close to the same age him a little older but they were good friends. He could hear her and that was just...no description he just felt glad "hi Ella...I miss playing with you, it gets lonely." He admitted shrugging his shoulder.
Lydia nodded as she dried her tears "he seems very happy...wanted to see Ella though that's all he kept saying...sweet kids." She rubbed her upset stomach and smiled "let's hope the littlest princess will play nicely as well."
Analie turned surprised to see him "well saves you coin on stamps I suppose...now I shall start it off for you "dear socially awkward waitress..." She teased and gave a wink as she cleaned the glass tumblers "beer?"

Ella smiled lightly, glad that he was happy to see her, and that he remembered her and missed her. "It get's lonely at my house too." She admitted quietly, shy. "Maybe… maybe we could build a fort in the library again?" She suggested, knowing they had had a lot of fun doing that last time.
Iliana nodded in agreement, "I think they are perfect friends for each other." She said, peeking in through the door to see the two sitting and talking. She looked back to Lydia's stomach then and frowned in worry. "You're alright, right? Still doing ok?"
Freddie laughed softly, shaking his head. "No… that's so unpoetic it hurts my soul…" He teased. "How about… Dear beautiful lady I only just met." he offered, raising an eyebrow. He nodded when she asked about beer. "Please." he responded, setting coppers on the table. "So… do you work all the time? I haven't caught you on a break yet…"

Lydia tensed and shook her head "get the doctor...baby isn't waiting..," she breathed feeling pressure and needing to sit down but she didn't want her son to be alone.
Donavon beamed "I like that idea! A book igloo except we can't use our favorite books because we pull them out and the whole thing fell!"
Amalie flushed and smiled "well if you insist...." she pushed the coins back to him "it's on me dear doctor...but I want an exam..,if you would permit?"

Iliana's eyes widened and she rushed to get the doctor, leading him back to Lydia. "Oh dear… hon you're having the baby. Ok." he helped her into the bedroom next to Donavon's and helped her onto the bed. "Lie back love." he suggested, helping her out of her stockings and loosening the corset so she would be more comfortable for birthing.
Ella giggled, nodding eagerly as she jumped off the bed. "Yes! We can have all our favourite books inside the igloo this time." She suggested, running down the hallway with him towards the library. When they got there, she started collecting big dusty old books to stack. "What was it like not hearing anything, and then hearing things?" She asked, curious.
Freddie winked at her, his smile turning softer when she pushed back the coins. He was about to ins is that he pay for his own drink when she said he could give an exam in exchange. Well. A beer for an exam? It hardly seemed a fair deal. He felt he was on the winning side of the bargain, but he nodded professionally. "I certainly could do that for you." he offered. "Anything in particular troubling you?"

Lydia gasped out feeling intense pain that she didn't want to breath, she squeezed tears out of her eyes and held onto Illiana "J-James..." She coughed out wanting her husband as she struggled to lay still it was worse then when it was Donavon.
Donavon helped her with the books and smiled "so...strange...it's like I knew what I thought the sounds were and they were so different, but I knew it was my mom and my dad...I like your voice it's sweet."
Amalie smiled lightly her cheeks turning pink "im dying, I can't afford a doctor so I'd like to know what's going on with all of me...is that alright?" She bit her lip knowing it could be awkward but he was renowned doctor so she trusted him.

Iliana bit her lip, having a hard time watching anyone in labor. The doctor assured her she was alright, just looked like it was a larger baby than normal. She went and fetched James and he rushed in, sitting beside his love, and taking her hand in his. "Lydia…" he brushed back her hair. "You're doing great love. I'm here. Breathe."
Ella shook her head slowly, trying to imagine that. No sounds…. and then sounds. That would be so strange. She blushed and tucked her head down bashfully when he complimented her. "Thank you." she said softly, piling on another book. "I don't really notice it, because it's my own voice." She shrugged. "Have you tried to play the piano forte yet?"
Freddie nodded solemnly, all buisness. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable. "Of course. I could take a look. You know… you might have something that's quite treatable, we won't know until we check." he smiled at her. "And I believe I get a beer…." He winked, his smile back to being playful again.

Lydia squeezed his hand tightly and gasped out in pain as she was tearing before she even began to crown. She was going to pass out from the pain it was so intense. She saw black dots blinking drooping eyelids too in shock to cry out.
Donavon paused and shook his head "im aftaid to..." He admitted "music is everything what if I don't like it as much...what if it's not the same?..."
Amalie smiled and passing him a pint and gave a nod "my shift ends soon do you have a clinic atound here?" She asked wondering how it was going to work out. She was nervous but anxious to get some answers.

James wrapped his arms around his love, worry creasing his forehead. She looked so in pain. Why was she so in pain? The doctor was working on monitoring the child. There wasn't much he could do for Lydia, as the child's head was tearing her small channel, and he couldn't do anything to make the kid's head smaller. So he just hoped not too much damage was done once the baby was out. "Hang in there love…" James kept whispering. "Hang in there… You're ok. I'm here."
Ella frowned, she understood his fear, but she also thought that it was incredibly foolish for him to give up music all together, just because he thought he might not like it anymore. Standing, she took his hand and pulled him to the music room, sitting down on the bench and patting the seat beside her. "Play me something? If it's so horrible, you can always block up your ears and play deaf again."
Freddie nodded, sipping at the pint. "Alright. Then have a drink with me to help with the nerves, God knows you deserve one after working so many shifts here. Then we can head over to my clinic for the exam." he suggested, raising his glass to her and taking a long drink of it.

Lydia felt an immense pain that took her breath away, she watched James only seeing a hazy comfortable blur as she went unconscious. Blood gushed out around the baby.
Donavon watched her worriedly but slowly started plunking out the notes to one of his favorite songs he wrote. He blonked pulling back astonished at the power and sound that came from those notes it gave emotion that he never felt as tears streamed down his face.
Amalie smiled "I suppose one drink wouldn't hurt..." She poured herself a glass and blinkef his glass against hers swigging it down and lettibg our a satisfying gasp "haven't had a rush like that for a long time!" She admitted with a genuine grin.

The doctor gave the baby to a maid to clean up and take care of. It was a healthy little girl. The doctor got right to work on patching up Lydia, and the tears the birth had caused, as James just held his love, crying from joy and stress and worry.
Ella smiled encouragingly at Donavon, waiting to hear him play. The first couple notes were tentative, and she smiled when she saw how they affected him. "Not so bad, huh?" She asked, tipping her head towards the keys. She wanted to hear the rest of the song. She liked this one.
Freddie smirked at her as she downed a glass. She obviously wasn't one new to alcohol. He chuckled, "Glad the drink agrees with you." he stood, finishing his glass, and putting it by hers to be cleaned up later. "Shall we head out?" he offered her his elbow to escort her to his place. "It's not far."

Lydia was in bad shape she was torn all the way through and bleedibg rapidly, her already porcelain skin was going paler as she lost so much blood.
Donavon slowly started to chime out the rest his smile growing as it all flowed together leaving him in tears "what have I missed..."
Amalie took his arm and nodded "a gentleman and a doctor, however you manage to stay single and unattached I do not know."

James was shaking, so nervous, but he just clutched his love as the doctor had the nurse hook up a transfusion to Lydia, from a blood donor, as he stitched her up and applied bandages to stop the bleeding.
Ella smiled, sitting a little closer and leaning her head on his shoulder. His music was beautiful, but his reaction was even more so. "There you go…" She whispered. "It's beautiful, huh?" She closed her eyes. "Keep playing. It sounds great."
Freddie chuckled, walking with her out into the brisk air and across the block through town to his clinic, which had his house in the back. "Here we are.'" he smiled. "I find I don't have much time for relationships, honestly." He admitted, bringing her into one of the exam rooms. "Here's a gown. I'll leave for a moment while you change." he said gently, leaving her with it.

Lydia started to come and her eyes fluttered as she moaned "w-where's the baby?..." She whispered feeling too drained to even do that. She felt pain but it was manageable just felt tired.
Amalie smiled and changed into the thin gown flushing as she realized he'd be looking at her. But she trusted him and this was needed "im ready!" She called out.

James had been rocking her and watching her for the hour she was out during the stitching. He sighed in relief, kissing all over her face. "Oh thank goodness you're alright. I was so worried! The baby is fine. She's sleeping. Healthy little girl." he whispered, kissing her forehead.
Freddie came back in and smiled politely at her. "Just relax, I promise I'll be gentle." he said, listening to her heart and taking her vitals. "Now comes the hard part. Is it all right if I massage your abdomen, and then look inside?" he asked, not wanting to go beyond what she was comfortable with.

Lydia sighed in relief "that's wonderful..." She whispered and snuggked into him "I tried to be strong..." She admitted quietly and squeezed his hand "shouldn't have passed out..."
Donavon kept playing for her liking that she was so close, felt nice strange but nice. He showed her how to play a few notes so they were playing together.
Amalie nodded and lay back smiling up at him "usually I would be against a man seeing me naked after a drink...I suppose this is an exception." She was trying to keep things casual and easy.

James ran his fingers through her hair gently, just enjoying spending some time with her. This had all been far too stressful, and he wanted a break with his love. "You were bleeding and injured, darling, I think it's understandable that you passed out." he teased, kissing her again. "And I am so glad you are ok again. How do you feel?"
Ella watched in interest as Donavon showed her a few notes to play along with him, and she tentatively hit a few of the notes, and then started to play along with him, until their song was a lovely duet with each part teasing a playing with the other as they wove together.
Freddie raised an eyebrow as he put on gloves. "Are you saying you might pounce on me before I finish, miss Amalie?" He asked, helping to get her comfortable before he started the exam. "Because I'm afraid I can't condone that behaviour in my exam room." He teased, massaging down her stomach, and then doing a quick internal exam to finish things up.

Thomas was with Illiana as he worked on the house "bloody leaks...it'll be awful during the winter." He watched her worriedly "you still doing ok?..,I mean you are past your due date...should I get a doctor?"
Lydia looked over at the baby "I want to see her? Please...I need to see my girl..." She reached over and took the small bundle "hello little one...hello...what are we naming her? It's your turn..."
Donavon smilef at her proud and excited "that was beautiful..."
Amalie cried out in pain as he pressed down "Mmm Freddie don't...please...please take it out...please!" That's where her sickness was in her abdoman and she shook her head "it's not gone..."

Sada smiled lightly, shaking her head. "It's an old house and it's got character." She said, wiping at the sweat on her forehead with the back of her hand. She stepped away from the trim she had been painting and moved to hug him. "I'm alright love. Heavy, and having a hard time sleeping now, but still alright. No need to have a doctor fuss over me too."
James immediately got up at her request, bringing over the tiny bundle to place in her arms. "Joyella." he whispered, brushing a finger over his daughter's face. "Joy for short." he smiled over at her.
Ella beamed, just as excited as Donavan was. After all, they had managed to play something together, and she had never played before. "So…. are you glad you tried it?"
Freddie frowned when she cried out, and he felt over the spot again, more gently this time. Maybe this was the source of her sickness… quite curable if so. "Amalie… I could preform a surgery to take it out… but then we risk getting you infected, and having your body respond poorly to the removal. But… if I take it out, it could also cure you." He said seriously.

Thomas held her close having her sit down "you've exerted yourself enough for the day Sada...you are passed your due date. Can we please just make sure all is well? To reassure your poor husband who is scared every minute..."
Lydia smiled at him "it's perfect...Princess Joyella Lydia Amelia..." She quoted and nuzzled her daughter "hello little princess...go find Donavon im sure that he will want to meet his sister...how long was I out?..."
Donavon nodded and smiled at her "I am...now I want you to feel the same joy Ella..."
Amalie winced as he reached in and touched from the outside "Mmm stop...please..." She whinpered and tried to be brave "what do you think I should do?..." She didn't know she was at peace with her illness buy now he gave her hope and that could be far worse.

Sada sighed heavily, clearly not liking the idea of a doctor looking at her. She was a healer herself, and though she couldn’t give herself an exam, she still felt confident in her own skills, enough that she didn’t want to be seen by anyone else. But the worry in Thomas’s expression as he had her sit down broke her resolve and she nodded. “Alright. Just a quick visit.” She insisted, rubbing her swollen stomach. She believed nature would pull through, and didn’t want the help of any doctors, even if her large stomach was getting very uncomfortable.
James smiled proudly as she recited out their daughter’s full name. It was a regal name, and befitting a princess. “I’ll go fetch Donavon.” He agreed softly. “Don’t worry love. You slept only for an hour or so.” He stood and went to find Donavon and Ella sitting at the piano. “Hate to interrupt anything, but Donavon, I came to tell you that your little sister has been born. You can come see her if you wish.
Freddie pulled his hands away apologetically, chewing at his lip as he thought about her options. It wasn’t cancer, which was good. It was just contained to the one area. There was always a chance that this wouldn’t work out well. But there was a better chance that this would heal her completely. “I’d like to take it out, if you’d allow me.” He admitted. “I think you have a good chance of being healed.”

Thomas kissed her cheek softly and nodded "I trust in nature and your abilities but I would like some answers. I'll go call the doctor..." He went to the phone calling the nearest physician to their old town house and hung up the phone "Sampson, Jaq and Calder are coming over...later tonight."
Donavon looked up when he came in firgetting he didn't have to look at someone to understand them anymore. He felt joy with news if his sister and smiled at Ella "I'll be right back!" He promised and rushed to his mother's room with his father.
Amalie still laying down thought about it and wondered if the risk was worth it, he seemed to think so...so she slowly nodded and bit her lip closing her eyes "ok...im going to die anyways so might as well try..."

Sada sighed softly, listening to him call the doctor and then hang up again. "It'll be nice to see them." She agreed. "It's been a while. Have they been enjoying the sea?" she asked, as there was a knock on the door. "That'll be the doctor." She said tiredly. She really didn't want to see a doctor, but she was putting up with it for his sake.
James walked Donavon into the bedroom with his mother and sister, and smiled lightly, lifting up the bundle and carefully placing it in Donavon's arms. "Gentle now…" He whispered. "This is Joyella." He said, his smile proud as he looked down at his two kids. He glanced over at Lydia, beaming.
Freddie nodded, heaving a sigh. The poor girl. She was dying anyway… that was such a dismal thought. At least this would give her a chance at survival. "Alright. Well. We can do the surgery whenever you wish. Preferably not after you've just had a meal. What are your thoughts?" he asked, wanting her to be comfortable.

Thomas answered the door with a smile as he led the female doctor to Sad'a "this is my Sad'a, she's the love of my life and well I'm worried about her, she's a week past her due date..."
Donavon was in awe as he carried his baby sister close to his chest. He smiled brushing back her hair "hi baby...im your big brother I'll protect you always..." He promised kissing her forehead.
Amalie nodded "tomorrow morning then? I won't eat tonight and we can just...get it over with...and if I die then I know I've lived a good life thus far...I met you." She smiled softlly pulling him for a kiss.

The doctor smiled gently as she came in and saw a very pregnant sara still sitting in the chair Thomas had led her to. "Nice to meet you." She said, the two women shaking hands. The doctor helped Sada up and to a bed. "Week over due, hm?" She repeated, massaging her stomach gently, and listening to both Sada and the child's heartbeats. Sada was a good sport, and though she was clearly not enjoying this, she put up with it as the doctor started to take a look around inside. "Let's see what we can find out."
James smiled softly, watching Donavon with his sister. He was naturally a good big brother, he could already tell. Little baby Joy opened her eyes then, blinking them and looking around in interest. She was a quiet baby and she didn't cry, she just looked up at Donavon, clearly fascinated by this large human above her. "She likes you, Donavon." James said, beaming.
Freddie nodded in agreement, pulling off his gloves and putting them away. Her words touched him in a painful, almost happy sort of way. He was what made her life better? He was about to make some joke about it when he found her lips on his and his eyes widened. But it didn't take long for him to get used to the idea of a pretty girl kissing him, and he relaxed, hugging her closer as he kissed back.

Thomas took her hand and squeezed it softly pressing it to his lips "I love you..." He promised and stroke her hair as the doctor examined her. He bit his lip waiting anxiously for some news about his child and wife.
Donavon beamed stroking his sister's face "she so tiny..." He whispered amazed and rocked her "I promise to care for you always Joy" he whispered so just she would hear it as he handed her back to his dad and hugged his mother worried about her.
Amalie moved so that he was on the table and kissed him deeper "just tonight...please, I've...never and if I die...I don't want to miss the opportunity..." She admitted quietly pushing his hair back.

The doctor looked up after a thorough exam. "Well. It looks like her cervix just doesn't want to dilate." She told Thomas. "We're going to have to induce the birth. She's just taking too long, and I worry she'll be able to last under all the pressure of carrying a kid." She said seriously. "It'll be a long labour as it is."
James took little Joy back and carefully placed her back in her crib as Donavon hugged his mother. "She's resting, Donny." he said gently. "She's been working hard bringing your sister into the world." He hugged his son. "Don't leave Ella waiting alone for too long, ok? You can come back and visit again soon."
Freddie knew that this was unorthodox, and probably going to be frowned upon. Sleeping with a girl for one night just because she was dying? It was pitiful and made him feel like he was taking advantage of her. But she had asked, and so he didn't refuse as he nodded, kissing her all the while he pulled her closer and tugged at her clothes.

Thomas looked at Sad'a and squeezed her hand kissing her knuckles "it's ok...you can still do it naturally Sad'a just let her induce you and then we can do the gypsy rituals and everything you wanted...I mean im sure the gypsies do it too...it's still natural."
Donavon nodded and hugged him back as he went back to the music room and Ella "want to go horseback riding?...i want to go, I wasn't allowed to before because of balance but now I can and I want to."
Amalie lay next to him after and sniggled close "you really think you can save me?..."

Sada closed her eyes, wanting so badly to shaker her head, to refuse, but something in her said the baby had been there too long. It was time to come out. "But Sampson and Jackie are coming over tonight!" She protested. The doctor was already preparing her. "The sooner the better love, this baby has been hard on your body." Sada shook her head nervously, but it was too late to turn back as she felt a cramp lock down on her gut. She winced.
Ella looked up from where she had been wandering the music room and she beamed. "I'd love to!! Do they have any Percherons? Or Clydesdales? You should try riding a draft horse. Their gaits are so smooth! You feel like you're floating. Much better than bouncy little ponies." She giggled and walked out to the barn with him, excited.
Freddie nodded, rubbing his thumb absentmindedly over her hip. "Of course I can." he promised, kissing the back of her neck. "I think you've got a good chance." He knew that didn't sound promising, but seeing that she was dying anyways, it was much more hopeful than that fate.

Thomas got the towels and supplies ready for her birth. He heard the door and answered it for his brother "im afraid that Sad'a is begining labor, we just brought in the doctor..."
Jaq went to her side and held her hand "Sad'a are you doing alright? How is it feeling?"
Donavon chuckled and shook his head "I know nothing of horses Ella...you will have to tell me. I haven't actually ridden before, so you'll have to help me since you seem well trained in it."
Amalie sighed and nodded "ok...after I awake shall we be together? I don't give myself just to any ole doctor..."

Sampson grinned as he saw his brother and he clapped him on the back. "Congratulations man!" He handed him his whisky bottle. "How do you feel about that one?"
Sada grimaced and look up as Jacqueline sat by her bed. "Not the nicest…" She admitted, wincing. "I feel fat and bloated and like my stomach is being shot."
Ella beamed, glad she had an area of expertise in something. "We can ride the same horse." She offered. "Draft horses are huge so they can pull a plow easily. They'll be able to carry us both until we can ride separately." She promised, coming up to the stall of a dark chestnut Percheron with a white stripe down his nose. Ella had to climb a stepladder just to feed him an apple, but she giggled as the horse snuffled and whuffed at her, looking for more. "We're going to take you for a ride…" She told the massive beast.
Freddie nodded, standing to get prepared. It was the morning, after all, and they might as well start work on it sooner than later. He paused, at her question, wondering if this was a good idea to get into. He was a busy man… and if he ever got into a relationship, he wanted to be able to be there for the girl. But this girl was not any girl. "I'll be here when you wake up." He promised, brushing his lips against hers. "And the next round of beer is on me." he winked.

Thomas shook his head "I suppose...I don't know she's not happy so how am I to be?" He took the whiskey pouring them both a glass "how's that handsome nephew of mine? Running wild around the ship?"
Jaq started to massage down her back and stomach helping her the best she knew how "think about the baby coming...the sweet little bundle of joy..."
Donavon watched amused and grinned "hello there..." He stroke his nose and down his neck "such a good boy..." He praised and helped her up on the horses back as he held onto her from behind "alright lady Ella lead the way..."
Amalie smiled and lay down on the operating table as she kissed him back "I suppose..." She was scared and you could see it in her eyes and her trembling smile "I suppose I should say goodbye...so when I wake up we can say hello..." She whispered watching the nurses bustle around her.

Sampson sat with him by the table, drinking slowly and nodding. "Calder is doing amazingly. Lively young boy. Caught him trying to fish from the side of the ship a few times. Had made the hook an everything. He's a cute boy." He glanced over at Thomas. "But why is your wife not happy?" He inquired, puzzled.
Sada closed her eyes, just breathing deeply, trying to work through the pain. The contractions were long and slow and her body was tired already. "It doesn't feel like a baby, it feels like… like a boulder." She whispered, panting.
Ella smiled brightly as Donavon petted their ride, and then helped her up into the saddle. It felt nice, being able to share this with him, teach him something. She never got to teach anyone anything. Her parents were always the ones doing the teaching. "Alright, hold on." She warned, urging the large horse into a walk until they were out of the barn. Then she grinned and nudged it into a canter across the field.
Freddie made sure she was comfortable. He took her hand gently, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "You're in good hands." he promised, smiling lightly. "But I don't like goodbye's very much. Let's just leave it at, farewell for now. It's less final." He smiled, injecting her with the sedative. "Have a good sleep. Dream of happy things." he kissed her forehead and watched as she drifted off, before giving orders and starting work immediately along with the nurses.

Thomas smiled lightly "innovative like his father! Incredible, im glad he's such a good boy. How is the crew reacting to you being captain." He sighed deeply thinking about Sad'a "she wanted to do it naturally like her people...but it's going to be a long labor..."
Jaqui squeezed her hand "you are doing great! Just hold on honey you can do this...remember the encouraging words you gave me..."
Donavon watched as they entered the forest he wasn't allowed in, it was dark and people could easily get lost and do get lost they were riding for about an hour when he started to get worried "Ella?..," he kept hearing snapping branches and in a flash their horse was spooked and they were both captured by rogues against the crown.
Amalie stayed u conscious after her surgery and when the anesthesia was supposed to wear off, her vitals were dipping in and out never stable but never life threatening either.

Sampson chuckled, nodding. "For being that age, I'm surprised he hasn't torn apart the whole ship." He admitted. "But he seems to like to keep to himself and enjoy the ship, so Jackie and I aren't complaining." He shrugged. Then he grimaced. "Well that might be rough on her." He agreed. "Poor gal. But you'll be a father soon, so that's good, right?"
Sada grit her teeth through the pain for as long as she could, but after a few hours her tolerance wore thin, and as the contractions grew stronger, she found herself screaming. And hours later still, she quieted and just submitted to what was happening, too exhausted to make a sound. The doctor looked worried, and she kept monitoring the progress of the child. "Fetch Thomas." She said softly, glancing at Jackie, before looking back at Sada who was no longer responding. "Just in case." She whispered.
Ella was too busy enjoying the ride and the speed of the horse to notice when suddenly they were surrounded by forest. Their mount reared backwards and let out a piercing horse scream, dumping them both on the ground. Ella looked around in terror as men tied her wrists to a tree. "Donavon?" She called, her voice trembling. She didn't want to be tied and alone with these strange men in a forest.
Freddie had worked all day, and all night on her surgery, working carefully to remove the growth, and then stitch her back up again, all the while monitoring her health and vitals. Luckily the growth had not been on any major organs, so he was hopeful that she would stabilize soon and recover, growing healthy and better. And he sat by her as the hours passed, taking care of her.

Jaquiliin swallowed worried about her friend this wasn't normal delivery at all and it was getting worse. She walked quickly to Thomas "the doctor is asking for you..." Thomas rushed to the room and was scared to see his wife like this with no signs of the baby "what's happening to her?...Sada please honey,..wake up..."
Donavon was struggling as the were tied up, he was scared. He felt sharp searing pains from being thrown around and beat up. He looked at Ella scared "Ella...let her go you don't want her...please don't hurt her..."
Amalie slowly came to feeling aching pain down her abdoman and winced closing her eyes again the drugs and pain too overwhelming to handle.

Sada opened her eyes halfway, taking long laboured breaths as she looked around, having heard her name, but not aware of where it was coming from through the pain. She was so tired, so very tired. The doctor bit her lip, nervous. "The baby is moving very slowly. But it should be alright once it gets here. I don't know how much longer your wife will last unfortunately. She really should have been induced sooner."
Ella shrieked and screamed when she saw Donavon and the scary men who hurt him and tied him up. She tried and tried to get closer to him, but to no avail. She couldn't move her arms. The men just laughed, commenting on chivalry and love and how cute the two prissy children were. "I'm scared..." She whispered.
Freddie lifted his head from where he had been snoozing, and immediately beamed. "You're awake!!!" He cried, clasping her hand and kissing the back of it. "Oh thank goodness! Youre going to live!!!!" He grinned, getting a glass of water and holding it to her lips. "This will help your throat."

Thomas felt sweat and his heart palpitating "just...do a c-section then if it's a choice between her and the child I want my wife!" He said tears come out of his eyes as he held her heated hand against his face he couldn't lose her he wouldn't.
Donavon screamed out as they took his hearing aide soaked in bloo puttibg it in the ransom note to the king and queen. He closed his eyes wanting to be brave for Ella and managed to touch her fingers with his feeling some comfort from that. They chopped off Ella's long braid to put in the note for the duke and duchess. "It'll be ok..,his whispered trying to be brave like his father taught him. They were left alone as they men delivered the letters.
Amalie whinpered at his loud voice slowly tipping her head up to drink the cool water and found that it did help some but not much "you...got it..."

The doctor debated that for a moment, as Sada moaned softly in pain. "She's so weak, at this point I don't think a c-section will be of much help." She pulled out the tools. "But if it's what you want, I can attempt it." she conceded. "I can't drug her or she might not wake up, so you'll have to hold her." she said, wasting no time in making the incision, as Sada loosed a garbled scream, tossing her head.
Ella fell asleep slumped against that tree that night, gripping Donavon's hand, and wondering where her parents were.
Iliana got the ransom note and wailed, clutching it. "My baby…." She said, curling up on the bed. The stress didn't sit well with the child inside her and she moaned with the pain of her heart, and the pain in her gut.
A palace guard delivered the note about Donavon to Lydia.
Freddie nodded, helping her down as much of the glass as possible, so she stayed hydrated. "I did. You're ok now. You're going to be ok." he promised, brushing her hair back from her face. "Are you feeling ok? Can I get you anything?"

Thomas held onto her tightly and watched the baby exit and squalling. He watched her get sewn up and got some water for her to drink "what now?" He asked the doctor "will she be ok?" He was more scared then that moment he got captured by ohine pirates with a knife at his neck.
Marcoux quickly got the money out and put together, he was trying to be strong for her but couldn't it was near impossible. He hugged his wife close "they didn't hurt her though...she's ok...they just cut her hair not..." He winced and left the money where they said to.
Lydia opened it and sobbed dropping it on the ground and running to James "James! They have our boy! They hurt him!"

The doctor worked diligently, making sure Sada was all bandaged and hooked to an IV before she took care of the baby, cleaning and wrapping it and laying it to nap in the crib. "If she wakes in the next few hours, she'll be on the road to recovery." She said honestly, knowing that that statement implied that if not… then she wouldn't recover at all.
Iliana clung to Marcoux for strength, needing him right now as she felt simply miserable, the baby putting up a fuss and the fear for her daughter's safety. "I know… I know… But I worry that they will hurt her." she whispered through her tears.
The men received the money and chuckled, thrilled to have been given so much. They untied a sobbing Ella and dragged her away from Donavon to the edge of the forest, where they took away her jewelled necklace and bracelets, even taking her silk dress, and then they tied her wrist to a branch where the money had been dropped off and left her there.
James looked up, shocked and horrified to hear such news. Donavon? They had him? How could they have their son? It must be the outlying rebels…. "I'll pay the ransom and then hunt down every last one of them, I swear." he ground out, storming through the castle.

Thomas laid by her and swallowed scared about her never waking up, he didn't even want to see the baby...he stroke her hair back "please wake up Sada...I can't do this without you I don't want to..."
Jackie cradled the baby and soothed her to sleep "big girl...yes you are...good girl...you look like your mama..."
Donavon watched them take away Ella from him and begged them to not hurt her, he was shaking the removal of his aide ripped out of his skull and he started to seize. A woman that was captured and married to one of the men went to his side "if he dies you won't get money!"
Marcoux quickly got his daughter and her close rocking her back and forth "I've got...you, daddy has you your ok...I've got you..." He took her home to Illiana and tucked her into bed "did they hurt you?"

Sada's forehead was creased in a permanent frown as she was unconscious, still sweaty. She wasn't moving much, and her breathing was laboured, but one hour later, she broke into a cold sweat, trembling and still unconscious.
Sampson came in to sit by Jackie, looking worried. "So what's the verdict?" he asked softly. "Are they both alright?"
The theif nearest by chuckle and shook his head. "The king and the queen will still pay whether or not he's injured. Leave him be." he had no sooner said the words, than an arrow pierced him through the throat, and James stalked out of the forest, rage in his eyes. There was no hesitation there as he sliced through the men that stood and fought, and chased the ones that ran. When he came back for his son, he had a deep cut in his shoulder, and blood all over his hands. "Donavon…" He said softly, scooping him into his arms. He left the woman alone, not angry enough to start slaughtering women.
Ella sobbed when she saw her father and she clung to him, crying and trembling. "Daddy…" she whispered, latching onto him for the walk back home and into bed, where she curled up tightly, clutching her kitten to herself. "They tied me up to a tree." She said softly. "And cut off all my hair!" she cried. "And they… and they hurt Donavon."

Jackie looked up with a tear stained face "she's dying...she's dying and your brother won't move away from her..,he wont leave..."
Thomas shook along with her heavy sobs racked his body "I love you so much...it's ok honey, it's ok...you can go...I just dont want you in pain...anymore...you can go..."
Donavon was barely conscious looking up at his dad and swallowing "Ella...don't...hurt...her..." He gasped out before seizing again the brain bleed getting worse.
Marcoux had Illiana come in and hold their little girl close. The foxes watched worriedly at the foot of the bed whimpering. "We got them all honey...they aren't going to hurt either of you again..."

Sampson's jaw clenched and he closed his eyes, letting out a heavy sigh. "I'm sorry to hear that." He whispered softly, going in to check on his brother. He entered just as Sada sighed softly and he walked over, wincing when he saw Sada's pale form on the bed. "Thomas… we should let the doctors take care of her." he suggested softly. "It won't do any good to stay here." He glanced at Sada, who was barely moving, but he could have sworn he saw her whisper 'I love you' to Thomas.
James hated seeing his son like this. He needed a doctor and now. They both needed doctors, really, but his son came first. He brought him back to the castle, ringing up a doctor immediately.
Iliana hugged Ella, cradling her, and Ella just cried against her mother, glad to hear that Donavon would be ok. "Can I see him soon?" she asked softly, still worried. He had tried to protect her...

Thomas shook his head "im not leaving her alone to die...she can't be alone she needs me..," he held onto her cold pale hand and brought it to her lips "it's ok...Sada you can go...I'll be ok I'll watch over our girl and take her to the sea..." He promised and swallowrd closing his eyes "love you..."
Lydia smiled in relief when he heard them come in and then gasped in horror as she saw her son seizing. She brought in the family doctor and looked at him scared "save my boy please...save him!"
Marcoux shook his head and sighed "honey...hes going into surgery...to repair the aide and help him...you can see him soon..."
Freddie sniled, taking the mail. "Thanks hon." He said, looking through it. "I'm alright helping him out. He's getting better quickly, but someone still needs to watch his lungs, as he heals." He insisted. He found the letter from Amelia and smiled, opening it and reading it. His smile only widened. He wanted to go find somewhere to write back immediately. She was so sweet.
