McKensie and Lara III

The doctors looked over Lacey and hooked her up to pain meds as Maxwell just held her, unwilling to let go, now that he knew he had her back again. He leaned weakly beside her, exhausted from the emotions and stress of the day. "Shhhh, hey… It's alright, It's in the past. I forgive you, and I'm sorry, and I just want to move on." he said honestly, tangling his fingers up in her hair and drinking in her scent. "I missed you… I missed you with every bit of my being…"

Jackie went to talk to Sada, she was missing Sam deeply and she was sure the other female on the ship was feeling the same. She sat by her and smiled at the joy on her face that shone through "You look happy today what's going on?"
Lacey snuggled close and winced as he played with her short cropped hair she hated it this short. But it was her choice and he still loved her, she wasn't going to bring up problems just because she is vain. She kissed his nose and nuzzled him close "I missed you more..." she whispered and pressed her hand against his heart "How are Illi and Marcoux doing?"

Sada looked up from where she was knitting and she smiled brightly when she saw her friend. She was lonely, but she couldn't wait for Thomas to return to her that night. "I did what you said, last night. It was wonderful, and I just can't believe that I'd been missing out for so long."
Maxwell actually smiled then, and he relaxed back on the bed beside her, careful not to bump or injure her by jostling the bed. He twined his fingers with hers and leaned his head against her. "They've got their own family now." he said honestly. "And I think it's going well. They tried to make a few calls on the house, but I wasn't accepting anyone." he admitted.

Jackie gasped in joy and hugged her friend tightly "Congratulations! That is wonderful...so are you feeling better? I mean your whole countenance has changed dramatically..." she said honestly.
Lacey smiled lightly "You mean with the foxes...I wouldn't call them kids though they are very close..." she sighed remembering her own little girl "How is Eloise?..." she asked softly still having trouble with the little girl. If she was honest that was the real reason she left is to not be such an awful mother.

Sada smiled, hugging her back. "thank you! But it was all thanks to you. I wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise." she said seriously, sitting down again and patting the seat beside her. "I feel much better now. I feel like I can just be me, and I don't have to hide, or be pitied." She said seriously.
Maxwell chuckled and shook his head. "No. I don't just mean the foxes. They have a new family member." He said seriously. All the talking was making him short of breath, but he kept going, filling her in. "They adopted a little girl they met at the hospital." Then his expression softened. "Eloise is doing just fine. She's staying at your parent's for the time being, because I wasn't fit to watch her with you gone." He said honestly. He had been drunk a majority of the time, and a drunk man was not fit to be a father.

Jackie smiled lightly "that's wonderful Sad'a, truly wonderful...I have a bit of news myself, the doctor found a stowaway in my womb...and then shortly
after Sampson passed out and has said nothing of it since."
Lacey soothed him "shh your tired just rest...please just rest, you are exhausted and I'm sure you are hungry after months of alcohol consumption...just rest..." She whispeted and closed her eyes "im right here..."

Sada's eyes widened and she beamed. "Oh wonderful!" She patted her leg gently. "I'm so happy for you. And my goodness. Sampson passing out? Never thought that'd happen. Is he alright?" She asked, concerned. A baby on board, and now the right hand man, fainting? What was the world coming to?
Maxwell shook his head, not wanting to sleep when she was there and injured. "I'm alright. I want to stay up longer." He insisted, resting his head against her. He was exhausted, but that didn't mean he wanted sleep. "I fear if I close my eyes, I'll wake up and this will all have been a dream…"

Jackie nodded and gave a weak smile "The lightening shook him up more then we first suspected and well...he's alright now but, I do worry that he's too shocked to be glad? I mean I'm scared but I have a right to be he's not carrying it! I can't drink or smoke or do any hard labor!"
Lacey caressed his hair and cheek "The fight was a nightmare this isn't a dream though...I'm right here and i'll be here when you wake up...I promise, I need you to be well so you can take care of me..."

Sada frowned in worry. Getting hit by lightening couldn't' just be a small matter. "I do hope he's alright. He's getting better, right?" she looked over at her friend. "You have every right to be nervous. This is huge, and I promise I'm going to be here for you any way I can be." She insisted, reaching out to take her hand.
Maxwell nodded slowly, letting himself believe that as she ran her hand through his hair. His was longer than hers, which was strange, but honestly he was just happy to have her back, and home again. "Don't go anywhere…" He whispered, taking her hand and holding it to himself as he finally gave in and drifted off.

Jackie smiled squeezing her hand back and sighing helping with the knitting, she was starting tiny baby booties "I'll probably have the babe on the ship...which is a little scary..." She admitted and smiled "but it'll all be good right?"

Sada sat beside her and worked on a shawl for herself to work in the cooler weather. "I'll be able to help you with that. I've helped with delivering babies before." She said, hoping this helped reassure her. "I'm sure you'll be just fine love. And then you'll have a child!"

Jackie swallowed and nodded "That would be wonderful...I know nothing about it. Is it as awful as they say?" she asked nervously glad Sampson wasn't around she hated to be seen vulnerable around him. He loved her because she was strong and passionate not scared...and weak.

Sada nodded encouragingly. "Of course. I'll help out any way I can." she promised. "It is painful, and quite a deal of work, but it really is worth it all in the end." She promised. "Or so I'm told." She smiled shyly. "But with all your fancy concoctions, I'm sure you have something to help with pain?"

Jackie laughed softly "I'm afraid nothing for that kind of pain...my concoctions are just trial and errors of healing myself and knowing what works...I have never had birth so I do not know which would help or hinder."
Marcoux helped them all into the house and sighed in relief finding that things looked brighter out of the brick walls of the hospital. He hugged a pillow that was on the couch and moved to bring the luggage inside "Eliza honey...do you want to see your bedroom?"
Lacey was healing slowly, she still had quite a bit of a ways to go and couldn't sit up finding it caused pressure on her spine and she couldn't push it. She loved staying with Maxwell though as he read to her and she showed him images of the villages and people she fell in love with while at war "theey knew I was scrawny so I never had to go to any of the major battles...just protecting and warning the people...the kids all had to leave on trains..."

Sada smiled softly, nodding in understanding. "Still, I find it marvellous the skill you have with your healing tonics. How do you manage it? I could never figure out herbs like that." She said honestly.
Eliza was clutching her teddy to herself and looked around the house in amazement. She nodded silently, her mouth open in awe. "Yes please." she whispered, following her new father. She couldn't believe it, she had a father, and a mother!
Maxwell listened to her stories, and told her some of his own, as always, just getting stronger, as she grew in strength each day. They both increasingly looked better, even though Maxwell started going through a bit of a withdrawal. "I'm glad they kept you away from the main fighting." He said seriously. "I would have been devastated to find you missing limbs, like Marcoux, or missing something more vital, like your heart." He said honestly

Jackie smiled bashfully "I'm a bit of a wiccan, I just have a connection with the earth and animals that I can't explain...I just don't like being called a witch, its a negative term."
Marcoux smiled and lifted her over his shoulders and let her sit up there as he took her to the rose pink room "Here you are my little princess...do you like it?" he asked looking up at her angelic face. He just wanted to give her the world.
Lacey nodded and sighed "Instead I saw my intestines coming out like stuffing on a teddy bear..." she said softly and ran her finger over the scar "I'm lucky to be alive...Jack is moving to England for school I want to find him someone to love will you assist me?"

Sada smiled softly, nodding. "That's alright. We call people who are in tune with nature Sahika in my culture. They aren't witch or wiccan, just regular people who seem to have a sixth sense about them." She explained. "It was an honour to be born as one among the gypsies."
Eliza giggled, holding onto his hair as he walked her up to the room. Her eyes got all big and bulgy and she giggled. "Oh is this mine!?" She exclaimed, looking around to take it all in. "I love it!" she slid down from his shoulders and ran into the room, just staring at the bed. Oh how she wanted to bounce on it… but it looked so nice and set up. She knew she probably wasn't supposed to touch it.
Maxwell grimaced, shaking his head. "I didn't need that mental image." He complained, smiling lightly. "I hate that you were so hurt in that war. But now you're better and I couldn't be more thankful." He said honestly. Then he shook his head. "Jack still doesn't have a girl?" He said, raising an eyebrow.

Jackie looked at her and grinned "That's a wonderful name, your culture is fascinating to me...I love listening to your language, how did you meet Thomas in the first place?"
Marcoux smiled and helped her onto the bed "Hey you can jump little one, it's your bed just be careful ok mommy and I would be so sad if you got hurt honey." he said kissing her cheek and tickling her.
Lacey kissed him gently and nodded getting dressed and fixing her hair to look somewhat decent. "No not yet, he's kind of shy talking with girls and he is so focused on his studies and taking care of his little brother."

Sada smiled a little at that, glad to have someone interested in her people's ways. "Thank you." she said modestly. "We met quite by chance, actually. I was fortune telling, in a booth at one of the ports he stopped in. He came in rather drunk and brawling on about how crystal balls were useless. Well, I threw one at him after he insulted my sister, and that started the love between sailor and gypsie."
Eliza's eyes widened even further, and she laughed with pure joy, bouncing around the bed. "Oh this is like a cloud! Look at me! I'm flying!" she flopped back on the pillows and giggled. "Thank you Daddy… I love you." She said, looking up at him in adoration.
Maxwell looped his arm through hers as he headed out to the carriage meant to take them home, away from the hospital. "Valiant man." he commented. "Are you sure he wants a girl?" he inquired, not wanting to impose into anyone's social life, where help was not wanted.

Jacqueline laughed out loud "oh that's hilarious! I suppose he wasn't a captsin at that point? How long were you together before you left?" She asked finishing one of the boities and smiling at how small it was.
Marcoux smiled and hugged her tightly "I love you Eliza Doolittle..." He teased and kissed her head ticking her "ready for dinner?" He rang for the servents "can you get Eliza ready for dinner please?"
Lacey shrugged and sighed "he seemed like he wants it, he just never had time. And he needs s very special girl because he is so wonderful..."

Sampson nodded in agreement, glad that he thought it was acceptable to wait. He new that he and Jackie as a couple just weren't at that stage yet. "I assume I'll be invited to the wedding?" He asked, raising his brows.
Sada smiled softly, shaking her head. "No, he wasn't captain yet, but he sure acted like he was." she ran her fingers through her hair, piling it up into a braid. "We were together for a year, before I thought he had been with another girl, and when he left, I didn't follow." she explained.
Eliza smiled brightly and hugged him tightly, nodding. "Hungry!" She agreed as the maids came in, smiling and talking to Eliza as they got her into a dress and got rid of the hospital clothes. Eliza gasped and smoothed her hands over the soft gown.
Maxwell laughed softly. "Alright. I'll help. What makes this man so wonderful?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Thomas smirked "I haven't decided yet..." He teased rummaging through more things and then laughing "of course you are! Your my first mate and brother...I want to invite father as well, one of the reasons we are going to go and see him."
Jackie frowned and nodded understandingly "that is some time though, I'm surprised you hadn't haf sex yet...but I know it's a little intimidating especially with someone who has done it multiple times..." She cleared her throat not wanting to make her unconfirtable "so do you think you'll get married?"
Marcoux watched and smiled taking her hand when she was dressed and leading her down to Illiana "go get mommy I'll help get dinner on the table." He smiled watching get run off.
Lacey smiled "he's very much like you, kind and willing to be of any service. Smart and loyal to everyone...just an all around great chap that never had a date in his life...and I want to change that!"

Sampson chewed his lip nervously, actually believing him for a moment. Then he laughed softly. "Ok… that was scarily hilarious." he shook his head, "It's a great idea to head back to see father… it's been far too long, and it's a great time to get the family back together again." he looked around the temple. "Are you ready to head back?'
Sada shook her head. "It was some time, but we both wanted it to be special." she explained. "So we had waited. "That, and… yeah, I was intimidated." She admitted. She swallowed. Thomas never really talked about his other lovers. And she never asked. Maybe that hadn't been the best idea after all. "I hope we get married. I'm ready to." She said, glad for the change in subject.
Eliza nodded and ran over to Illiana who smiled brightly and scooped up their girl, spinning her around. "Hi love." She kissed her cheek. "Ready for dinner?"
Eliza nodded, beaming. "Yes!" She said, tucking her napkin around herself as Iliana tucked in her chair.
Maxwell smiled softly, not sure whether he should feel completely flattered, or jealous that she was so enamoured with this man. "Alright. I suppose he deserves a date." he agreed. "Do you have anyone in mind?"

Jackie nodded with a smile "I think your at the marriage point in your life, I'm certainly not yet I have a child...skipped a few steps but Sampson doesn't seem like the one to propose."
Marcoux smiled at his girls and sat by Iliana "dinner looks amazing...I cannit wait to dig in. Eliza we are going to celebrate your birthday tonight."
Lacey put her hand on his shoulder "I love you...not him, I promise...and I do not know who yet, can you think of anyone?"

Sada nodded her agreement. "thank you." She said softly, putting down her work as she looked over at her friend. "As long as you are happy, marriage certainly isn't a necessary step." she promised, smiling kindly at her. Her eyes drifted to the ocean, wondering when their loves would return.
Iliana smiled as Marcoux came in and she reached over to squeeze his hand. "Yes, doesn't it? It shall be so nice to have real food again." She said seriously.
Eliza's eyes lit up like stars and she stared at them both. "I get a celebration?" She asked in quiet amazement.
Maxwell's smile became a little more genuine and a lot less tense. "I know… It's just hard not to worry when you think so highly of another man." he admitted, shrugging lightly. "There are many eligible women in England, Lacey, it'll take forever to decide." He joked. "But I know of a few motivated girls who are in schooling same as him that he might be interested in."

Jackie smiled putting down her own work "shall I cook you anything? I'm fairly good and the slop the men left is disgusting and I dont need to be anymore nauseous then I am."
Marcoux smiled waving in a maid to bring in the brightly wrapped parcels "you may open them after dinner my little princess, and we shall have ice cream and a cake princess Lydia made."
Edmund was helping Emma, she was at least 9 months now and they were settled in the first section of the palace walking the halls slowly before putting her to bed like the doctor instructed.
Lacey smiled "I was a man, I made many friends that have a hard time believing I am female darling...only you know the real me and have experianced the benefits of me being female." She teased and nodded "what about Clara Willfisher? She's lovely and smart...quiet...she's not seeing anyone is she?"

Sada's smile brightened at her offer. "Real food sounds absolutely lovely. But… is your cooking anything like the concoctions you make? Because I'm not in the mood for drinking medicine." She teased, standing up to go down to the kitchens.
Eliza gasped and then giggled, too eager to finish her food down as fast as possible so she could go open her gifts.
Iliana laughed softly, shaking her head. "Slow down, Eliza, your gifts aren't going anywhere." She promised, smiling softly over at Marcoux.
Emma was having a hard time waddling anywhere now, as her stomach was so swollen she couldn't see her legs at all. And so she really relied on Edmund for help around the hallways, but most of the time she spent sewing and designing clothes. "Thank you Edmund, for the help you've been." she said one night as she was sewing in bed.
Maxwell nodded, knowing he would have to get used to the fact that she had been friends with many men, and so it was only natural for her to think highly of them. He just had to be careful not to let jealousy get the better of him. "Last I checked, Clara was still single." he mused. "She's more attached to her brother than any man, I believe."

Jackie had made a peach crisp and stew using some of the special ingredients to add flavor and bread was cooking as she went and pulled the men up and hugged Sampson as she saw him "Mmm hi..."
Edmund rubbed her leg and kissed her cheek "this dress will be gorgeous...you have such dainty fingers to do all that embroidery work..,Lydia is lucky to have you..." He rubbed her stomach "the baby dropped...you feeling ok?"
Marcoux chuckled and watched her "slowly.,,enjoy the meal honey. We will get to the party I promise." He kissed her curls playing with the silk ribbon "you are so pretty honey...don't you think Illi?"
Lacey clapped her hands eagerly and smiled "yes! Oh they would be perfect together!" She praised writing to Jack and then Clara.

Sampson returned to the boat with Thomas and the men, and he climbed the ladder that the girls had thrown down. Grinning at his girl, he hugged her to himself and smiled. "Hi there lovely." he whispered, kissing her quickly. "Hope you weren't too bored…"
Emma smiled softly, not looking up from her work. It meant a lot to her to know that he approved, however. "You flatterer. I'm hardly that good." She said, working diligently at the dress until she had finished the seams. Then she set it down on the side table. "I'm fine still Ed, I promise. Just feeling a little tired. Would you mind grabbing me some warm milk love? That tends to help me sleep."
Eliza slowed eating and smiled sheepishly, sitting up straighter and eating more like a lady. Iliana nodded her approval. "There you go love, now you eat as pretty as you look." She said, and Eliza giggled finishing up her soup.
Maxwell chuckled, shaking his head slowly. "Now we just have to see how that one goes." He kissed her cheek. "What did you tell them love?" He asked, curious.

Jackie kissed him back and ran her fingers through his hair "been a bit suck but other then that I've had wonderful conversations with Sada, she promised shed deliver the baby..." She buried her face in his neck and inhaled his scent "what was the temple like?"
Edmund nodded and helped her get tucked into bed and went to their personal kitchen and heated up some milk for her and brought it back "here you are darling..." He kissed her temple "I want you resting tomorrow you worked hard yesterday and this afternoon."
Marcoux smiled and motioned for the main course to be presented as he squeezed Illiana's hand under the table amazed they ever lived without this angel in their life "darling, I was wondering if you would like to come with us to London to see some friends of ours."
Lacey smiled over at him "I said to Clara that a gentleman caller would like to meet her and how wonderful he was and Jack I said that I found a lovely lady that I'd like him to meet."

Sampson closed his eyes and thrummed, almost like a cat purring when she ran her fingers through his hair. "Wonderful. I'm glad I won't have to figure out how to deliver babies last minute." he joked, kissing her quickly. "Temple was a little freaky. Cut my hand for some strange ritual. But the treasure was amazing." he pulled out the elephant. "This is for junior." He said, pulling out the dress for her. "And this is for you."
Emma smiled as he came back in and she took the milk, sipping it slowly. "Thanks Ed." She tugged him beside her and sighed. "I can't afford a day off! This dress was supposed to be finished this afternoon…" She huffed. She scooped it up again and put the glass of milk down, deciding that finishing was more important than sleep. Really, she was just trying to distract herself from the ever present aching in her swollen stomach.
Eliza's eyes widened as the meat and potatoes and gravy was brought out. She immediately started chewing on the meat and then looked up, her eyes large. "London? A trip to London? Could we go shopping? A little girl told me once that she got a doll in London. It was the nicest little thing…" She said, remembering.
Maxwell laughed, amused, and shook his head. "well, you certainly are a matchmaker. And good at customer service too. No wait times!" He grinned at her. "I'm proud of you, Lacey." He whispered, kissing her.

Jackie instantly took his hand "I have a pollus that will heal that right up..." She gasped in pleasure tears in her eyes when he got something for the baby. She pet the elephant and then her eyes widened at the dress "Sam...it's beautiful...I fear id ruin it if I wore it...it's more elaborate then anything I've ever seen..."
Edmund frowned not liking that she wasn't resting, he took it away and shook his head "Lydia understands you are due any minute darling...just rest, do not stress alright?" He catessed her stomach and felt something he hadn't fekt before "my word...did you feel that?"
Marcoyx smiled and nodded "of course darline, anything you want...." He wasn't worried about her becoming spoiled she had too pure of heart to ever think only of toys and dresses. He smiled at Illiana "I'll buy mother something as well."
Lacey kissed him back "glad to be going home soon...it'll be nice to see everyone and be back at the mansion with Eloise...mother and father and James don't know I left do they?.." Oh the shame she would put on the family even though she had a Medal of Honor.

Sampson smiled, happy that she was happy with the toy he had gotten for their child. "I'm glad mamma approves." He kissed her quickly. Then he smiled lightly. "Well. On the days you feel like taking a break from piracy, you'll look absolutely brilliant in this dress." he kissed her again. "Now… about that pollus?"
Emma huffed in irritation when he took away the dress, but she knew he was right. She just didn't like not having something to do with her hands. So she focused on his massaging instead. When the baby shifted, she nearly doubled over her stomach, wincing. "Yeah… I felt it." she wheezed. "Baby just winded mum." She grimaced.
Eliza laughed in excitement, thrilled. "We're going to London!!!" She finished up her dessert, giggling as she leaped from her chair and ran over to the presents.
Iliana blushed and squeezed his hand. "You pamper us too much, Marcoux…" She scolded. She stood with him and followed Eliza to the gifts.
Maxwell nodded in understanding. He didn't like hospitals, and he certainly didn't like her in them. He wanted to leave as soon as possible. He bit his lip. "No… only Iliana and Marcoux know…" he kissed her cheek. "I'm sure everyone will understand, love."

Jackie nodded and pulled him to her hamic and spread the mixture over the deep incision carefully." She pressed her lips to it after it was bandaged and pressed it to her face "I hate to admit it...but I did miss you.." She whispered and sighed hating to be that vulnerable and pathetic.
Edmund frowned concerned "darling I feel as though you are starting labor...im going to call the doctor." He said kissing her temple and running to the doctor's quarters "Emma is in pain...please!" He said panicked his brow already sweating.
Marcoyx chuckled "what else am I to do with all this extra money?" He teased and watched her open a little baby carriage for her dolls "you can take the foxes for walks with that too Liza...it has the pillows and blankets and a tiny bonnet."
Lacey sighed "father won't...what did you tell them when you gave over Eloise? They must have had questions..."

Sampson followed her over to her spread of weird 'health things'. With which she immediately got to work in binding up his hand. He felt right away as the pain started to lessen and he sighed in relief. "Thanks a ton, love." he kissed her forehead, chuckling. "I'll admit it, I missed you too."
The doctor looked up from his work and immediately abandoned it, following Edmund back up to the room. Emma was on her side, moaning softly, clutching her stomach. "Ed…" she whispered, tears squeezing from her eyes. "Ed…" She whispered softer. "Where did you go? What's happening to me?"
Iliana shook her head at her husband, but she smiled. Eliza's eyes lit up at each gift she opened, and each one she hugged, or examined carefully, before moving on to the next. When she got to the carriage, her eyes widened bigger than they had been before and she laughed in delight, immediately scooping up Mila, whom she promptly placed on the pillows. The fox merely sat down like it was her throne, and Eliza presumed to carefully push her around the house.
Maxwell swallowed, hoping for her sake that she was wrong. He hated the thought of their family in a rift. After all, he was part of this family too. "I said the same thing you told me. That you had gone to stay with your aunt, and that the drafty old house was no place for a baby."

Jackie smiled putting the pollus away and kissed his knuckles "you better have...im your woman and carrying your posterity." She teased and sighed laying back "I cared for the ship the best I could."
Edmund stroke her hair and down her back "darling you are in labor and the doctor is here on? Roll on your back so the doctor can examine you ok?..."
Marcoyx chuckled watching her and Sable chasing her heels "my goodness that is sweet..." He smiled at Illiana "I think she had a good birthday...don't you? We didn't spoil her right?"
Lacey sighed lightly "that's good...but I have to tell the truth, how else do I explain the surgery and short hair? Dear auntie didn't do this.0

Sampson chuckled, moving to lie beside her. He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as he listened to her. "You did a marvellous job, love. And you really should rest more." he said, massaging her stomach gently. "I hate to think of you being overworked."
Emma grit her teeth, crying from stress and fear, mostly. She pushed herself over onto her back with some effort, and tried to keep breathing as the doctor eased her out of her underclothes, and lifted her skirts. She trembled when he looked around in her, and closed her eyes, trying to forget about it all. The doctor looked to Edmund. "She seems to be starting along normally. But her cervix is dilating slow, it might be a long labour."
Iliana watched as they ran off, and she shook her head, loving how well their daughter was fitting in with the place. "I think she had a wonderful birthday." She agreed, leaning into him. "And she looked so happy to get gifts."
Maxwell rubbed her shoulders, giving her a gentle hug. "Yes, they will need to know eventually. Would you rather I told them first, to give them time to get used to the idea?"

Jackie sighed "no such thing, I'm not showing yet therefore I can still work just as hard. Just can't drink which is awful by the way..." She nuzzled him "did you have a good time? Was it everything you dreamed of?"
Edmund frowned worrirdly squeezing her hand and stroking her hair back concerned she'd be in pain for so long "isn't there anything you can do? She's already in immense pain now..." He said squeezing her hand.
Marcoux nodded and smiled "she was truly grateful and that means everything to me...look at our girl playing, she never had any real toys before...poor Shiloh and Milah." He chuckled watching the foxes in the tram.
Lacey sighed and nodded "please? That would mean the world to me...it's better if they find out before they see me..."

Sampson kissed her forehead and wrapped an arm around her waist, tucking her closer to himself as he rested beside her. "I'm sorry you have to miss out, love. I really am." he said sympathetically. He loved his drink as much as anyone else. "I did have a good time. It was so much more than I ever could have imagined. A little hard to get in, but amazing once we did."
The doctor nodded in understanding, sighing softly. "I'll look again and see if there's any reason for the delay." he promised. This time when he poked around, Emma cried out, trembling. "Please. Please stop." She begged. Really, it hadn't been that painful, but she was working herself up over the whole situation.
Iliana nodded, watching the three animals romp around with the girl, the foxes looking particularly annoyed in their bonnets on the tram. She laughed. "I'm sure they secretly enjoy being carted around. But we should get her a doll to save her poor older siblings." She shook her head. "To think that she never had any nice things…"
Maxwell nodded immediately, "Of course. When we go to visit, I'll talk to them first, and you can take care of Eloise. " He suggested. "Then, once they're all settled down, I'll call you in, and you can talk with them?'

Jackie smiled listening to him and entwining her fingers with his "sounds amazing...and the history, I think it's so wonderful Thomas is getting the chest to the museum in New York...don't you?"
Eund frowned going to her "darling it's alright he's just doing his job...we are making sure the child is alright and that this will go smooth for you...I know your scared do you want me to have Lydia come up and be with you?"
Marcoux smiled "we have her a nice baby doll and Teddy bear but they are seated on the arm chair and the foxes are being the baby dolls now." He chuckled watching her "Elizahoney why don't you take your dolly for a ride or teddy?"
Lacey nodded "I think that will be best...do you think Eloise missed me at all?"

Sampson nodded in agreement, remembering the huge temple. "It was absolutely amazing. Thomas believes the world should be able to enjoy the treasure, which is why he is donating it." he smiled softly. "A penny in the purse isn't such a horrid thing, but I do agree it was a valiant thing for him to do."
Emma squeezed her eyes shut, tears leaking over her cheeks. She knew she probably looked horribly irrational to him. "No… no it's ok. Just stay with me… please…" She winced as another contraction hit.
The doctor looked up and smiled softly. "I have discovered the problem. The babies don't seem to want to come out one at a time."
Eliza looked over to her father, beaming. "But foxes need to be carried around! They need to be cared for!" She brushed a doll brush over Shiloh's coat and he nearly glared at her, as well as a fox can glare, anyways.
Maxwell nodded, glad that she approved. And then he shook his head. "Of course she did! I'm not her mother and I knew immediately that I couldn't care for her like you can. All she wanted was you."

Jackie nodded and smiled "you are just as valiant you know..." She made the elephant walk over her stomach and smiled up at him "it was sweet for you to think of the baby, honestly I felt as though you didn't want it..."
Edmund blinked in shock "twins...." She was carrying two and they didn't want to take turns "what can you do? That seems like it will be harder on her body,.." He kissed her hand grilling it tightly.
Marcoux laughed lightly "the foxes don't like to be pampered honey, let them roam free and they'll be much happier I assure you. Your dolly likes to be pampered and cradled though."
Lacey smiled softly "I did miss her dearly...she is nearly 3 how crazy that sounds...our little girl..."

Sampson chuckled, shaking his head. "I'm afraid not, love. You're in the presence of a pirate, through and through. Better hand onto your purse." Then his features softened and he shook his head. "I was just surprised by it, Jackie. Surprised, but thrilled all the same."
Emma heard and she rubbed her stomach a little, grimacing. "So that's why I'm so large…" She mused, and then whimpered as a heavy contraction rocked her body. Nothing seemed to be making any headway, however.
The doctor nodded in agreement. "It will be much harder on her body. I could maneuver one of them into position ahead of the other, but that means she has to let me reach in again."
Eliza let out a disappointed huff of air and she carefully untied the bonnets from the foxes' ears. She let them both run off, watching them go sadly. "Bye bye foxes." She said, scooping up her doll and tucking it into the tram.
Maxwell nodded in agreement. "That is quite crazy." he agreed. "Time really does fly. I'm sure she'll be happy to see you again when we arrive."

Jackie laughed lightly "my purse is the money I stole from you so it won't make much of a difference." She reminded and kissed down his jaw "I know it was a shock, scared me too especially when you passed out...that was awful!"
Edmund frowned kneeling down so they were closer and he wasn't hovering over her"darling will you please allow the doctor...I worry about you and it'll be dangerous if they both try to come out...I'll hold you close ok? I know it hurts you are so brave..."
Marcoux hated the sad look in her eyes and grabbed the new birthday kitten and put the Bonnet on its ears and it didn't seem to mind at all in fact it was purring "there you go amgel!"

Sampson laughed then, shaking his head. "Then we are more alike than we ever knew." he smiled. Then he sighed, shaking his head. "Don't know why I passed out. I've never fainted in my life. Until then anyways…" he shook his head.
Emma winced, shaking her head at first. She didn't want the doctor in there again. But he was asking so nicely, and he was holding her. She nodded, clinging to him, unable to speak through the pain.
The doctor took that as a yes and immediately got to work.
Eliza's eyes lit up immediately when she saw the kitten and she grinned. "Thank you!" She said, stroking the small thing's ears. Now she had a real little baby to take care of. "I'm going to name you Misty." She whispered.

Jackie pushed his hair back undoing the ponytail and just holding him to her as she softly kissed his lips and down his jaw "gave me the worse fright in all my life..." She admitted and sighed "I've grown accostumed to you caring for me and there I was exposed and with child and you needed me and I couldn't do anything..."
Edmund held her close and helped her through the pain and discomfort "I've got you good...breathe and when the doctor gives the alright begin to push darling..."
Marcoux smiled "misty sounds like an excellent name dear one...now go with the maid to get dressed we are going to London remember? Your toys and kitten will be fine here I promise."

Sampson closed his eyes, enjoying her fingers in his hair immensely, and her kissing made him dissolve. "All is forgiven…" He mumbled, smiling softly. Then he opened his eyes. "You saved my life, you know that. You did everything."
Emma was just struggling to hold on and survive through the pain, but her hands were trembling from the effort, as she gripped onto Edmund.
"Almost got the first one turned… And…" The doctor started.
"Oh!" Emma suddenly exclaimed. Baby number one had just slid out. Since the babies were twins, they were small, and came out easy. The second child came sliding out after the first.
Eliza nodded, her eyes lighting up. "Mrs. Mary!" She called, scrambling down the hall looking for the maid. She wanted to get dressed and leave soon.

Jackie sighed "I hope so...I just tried my best..." She mumbled and kissed him deeply before the barrack door was flung open and the captain came rushing down the stairs "Sam! Oh bloody hell sex can wait can't it?"
Edmund watched in amazement and went to the babies to help tend and wrap them up "both girls darling...we have girks!" Well so much for having a sailing partner but maybe one of them will be like Jackie and want to sail with her papa.
Marcoux laughed getting ready himself and held Illiana close "are you ready to see our friends? With our beautiful Ray of Sunshine?"

Sampson groaned. "No… it can't wait." He complained, even so, he sat up as his brother came in. He looked stressed, or at least excited about something. "This better be good." He said, annoyed. He didn't like being interrupted.
Emma leaned back on the pillows, gasping in relief as she relaxed once more. "Two girls…." She whispered, amazed. She let her eyes close as she rested, and just listened to the sound of her husband and children.
Iliana dressed into a dress that was more city appropriate, and did up her hair nicely before joining him, looping her arm through his. "I'm ready. Nervous, but ready." She said, smiling at him.
Lacey thankfully didn't rip any stitches but the sharp firing pain was still present but she ignored it. Her heart didn't hurt he still loved her, she pulled him down for another kiss and rested her forehead against his "I'm sorry...I'm so so sorry..." she whispered over and over finally taking accountability for hurting him so badly.
