McKensie and Lara III

Lydia squeezed his hand "come on you...I need you to pick out your bow tie..." She kissed his cheek and nuzzled it "oh baby is moving!" She said putting his hand on her stomach "feel it?"

James sighed, following her. "Alright…." he complained, shrugging. His smile was soft however. His eyes immediately widened at her comment, and he bent, placing his hands on her stomach. "Baby… that's amazing!" He said, feeling the little life move around slightly. "That's our child!"

Lydia smiled and nodded running her fingers through his hair "not just one little cell anymore...it's a little person..." She gasped seeing a mirror in the hall and seeing that she was noticible now "oh my gosh we need the wedding now!"

James smiled softly, loving their baby already. He kissed her stomach and pressed his face against it, hugging her. "I love you both." he whispered. "I love you both so much." He smiled at them in the mirror and shook his head. "It's only in three days, remember? You won't get much bigger by then…"

Lydia swallowed and nodded "your right...your right..." She ran her hand over the bump and sighed "I'm going to be a mom...everyone will know every detail of my pregnancy...and I have to do it on the Royal birthing chair which I was born on..."

James hugged her gently, running a hand through her bangs as he tucked them behind one ear. "You'll be queen. You don't have to do any of that if you don't want to. You'll rule England, literally. Anything you say goes." He said, kissing her gently. "And even if you uphold tradition, I'm sure, since you're such a strong woman, that you'll do beautifully."

Lydia sighed "I have to...my mom already showed it to me...I won't force my daughter to do it...that will end it..." She kissed his head "Mmm I love you so much...come on up I need to lean on you...feel a little lightheaded."

James nodded slowly, standing again. "Whatever you wish baby." he whispered, smiling down into her eyes. He kissed her quickly, and then scooped her up into his arms, carrying her to the nearest sofa where he let her rest.

Lydia smiled and snuggled close "it's ridiculous how tired I get, I'm like a fragile lilly not tough sarcastic Lydia...I don't like it, I just want to work and cook and not be laying in bed all day."

James laughed then. "You are not fragile. You are strong, and working all the time. You need a break! And a baby might be a good way to give that to you." He teased, kissing her. "I insist you rest more, you need your energy and strength."

Lydia smiled and sighed kissing him lovingly "thank you for not saying I'm fragile...I will rest and revive myself but I still have wedding planning...I need the flowers and the bridesmaids..."

James smiled softly, kissing her back. "I shall get both for you, and you are going to bed this instant." He said, carrying her up to their room/rooms and lay her on her bed. "And once I am happy that you have gotten enough rest, then you shall see what flowers I have picked, and I'll have your bridesmaids come see you."

Lydia smiled and squeezed his hand "just Emma please...and you picked the flowers? Well what did you pick? I need to know it'll match my bouquet and you don't know it."

James nodded, "On it." He promised, ringing for Emma to come up stairs. Then he shrugged. "Roses, because I figured those are a staple. But I wanted the white roses. And a couple of those white kind that have the edges of the petals a soft pink. Oh, and forget me nots. Is that alright? I can send them back if they don't work."

Lydia gasped and started to cry "that's exactly what I wanted James? How did you even know? What about light yellow roses? For the flower girls..."

James smiled softly, kissing her head. "Maybe we're more alike than you know." He whispered, putting his arm around her shoulders and hugging her. "Light yellow roses would definitely make the flower girls look adorable." he agreed. "I think the kingdom will love our wedding."

Lydia kissed him lovingly "I love our wedding...and that's what matters it's just me and you right now...I love you so much. We work perfect together..."

James nodded, leaning back against the headboard. "I agree." he said, kissing her cheek. "We most definitely work well together. It's why I proposed to you." he teased, smiling.

Lydia laughed "oh that's why? I thought it was because I made you smile more then anything rlse...I mean you were dull before I came into your life!" She teased and kissed him.

Iliana was there, and she watched them mourn with a sorrowful look on her face. She didn't want to have kids. She didn't want to have kids at all. But she felt so guilty… her friends being this way, when she was perfectly healthy…
James smirked and shook his head. "Yeah that too." he agreed. Then he laughed. "Oh was I?" he said. "Touche." he kissed her back, and then gently tucked her under the blankets. "But I was serious about resting." he said sternly. "go to sleep for a bit, ok?" he said, kissing her forehead.

Marcoux pulled Illiana away and sighed "you don't have to say yes if they ask...you have no obligation to do this..." He reminded not wanting her part of some wacky experiment.
Lydia sifhed and nodded nestling in the pillow and closing her eyes falling asleep instantly.

Illiana bit her lip, shaking her head. "But I have to. I was there. I could have stopped her from helping. She said a million times how scared she was about having a kid after the surgery, and how lucky I was to be healthy. I would die of guilt if I said no." She said, covering her face with her hands.

Lacey saw them come back in "Illi I can't ask this of you...I'll find a willing msid or something...I can't ask you to have something of mine that you don't want."

Maxwell bit his lip. Part of him hated that this all was happening, hated the helpless guilty look on Iliana's face. And part of him… well wanted to the depths of him for Iliana to offer to bear their child.

Marcoux sighed pulling Maxwell in the hall "how does this work? I mean...this isn't a simple thing...you will be putting a baby in Illi...I don't understand how that works..." He started to pace "we only want the foxes..."

Maxwell's forehead was creased with concern as well. "From what I heard, we just transfer the two cells into her, not even a baby yet. If it grows, it worked, if not… then you try again. Its just like having a regular baby, just the cells didn't come from you, or your partner." he explained. "I know you guys didn't want kids… and I'm really sorry for pushing this on Iliana. You certainly won't keep the kid… it's just nine months."

Marcoux sighed and swallowed nodding and pat his back "alright...I'll help her through it...I'm sorry for your loss...and I'm still pretty uncomfortable about it...but Illi wants to help."

The doctor was setting up her instruments, and she smiled. "We just need an egg from you, and a cell from the father, and we'll put them both inside your friend." she explained. So if you and the father could come back here," She motioned to the adjoining room. "I'll collect those.
Maxwell nodded. "Again, I'm sorry man, and thank you so much." he said, jogging in after the doctor into the other room.
Iliana was trembling like a leaf now. Insert? Cells? Right. Cells that were going to grow into a baby in her stomach, ballooning her out and then tearing her apart as they left. Lovely. But she had to help Lacey… she wanted to help her friend.

Lacey smiled and took Maxwell's hand smiling at him "this will work...maybe I should light some candles...set the mood?" She teased and leaned on his shoulder feeling hope over the pain of losing her baby.

Maxwell laughed softly, shaking his head as he undressed and sat on the bed beside her. "You're hilarious." he joked. "I do feel horrible for Ili though. Having to do this." he said, as the doctor went to Lacey and collected what she needed. It was more embarrassing to get the cell from Maxwell, but he distracted himself by talking to Lacey, and focusing on her. And then the doctor said she was done, and carried a little baggy back into the other room.

Lacey sighed looking at Maxwell and pecking his cheek "I know...I feel sick with guilt, but I need a baby...i can't stand that I can't have one...but now in a few minutes hopefully it will start..."

The doctor explained while she set up and did it. "We just insert the cells into her uterus." She said simply. "And from there on, it's just a normal pregnancy, she said, slipping the tube into Iliana who winced and tucked her face against Marc.
Maxwell smiled, hugging her. "I know." He whispered. "I know, baby." He kissed her temple and looked down at her. "We'll still have a family. We'll have a beautiful little family."

Lacey nodded and held him close "maybe we can adopt afterwards? I just want a big family and I'm not forcing Illiana to do this again...it isn't fair to her..." She got dressed and helped him "what a night...how was the palace?"

Maxwell nodded in agreement. "That's a good idea." He said. "We can adopt lots of kids who need homes and have a big family like we wanted." he promised. "But having one kid that is actually ours will be nice." He got up, dressing. "The palace was fun. Marc had his foxes running around, and the queen had a little fit, if I may say so. And James and Lydia both seemed a little overwhelmed…"

Lacey laughed lightly "oh that would be funny...poor foxes they just wanted to play...and I bet they are overwhelmed their wedding is in three days...and it is much more elaborate then ours.."

Maxwell nodded, laughing with her. "It was. Marcoux looked horrified, and so did the queen." He chuckled. "An three days is incredibly close. I have no idea how they do it." He said honestly. "I'm very glad we have more time to plan ours."

Lacey smiled and nuzzled him "sweet little animals...never been much of an animal lover but they are well behaved...Illi said they are going to be the ring bearers..."

Maxwell nodded. "They are quite cute." He agreed, "even though they are foxes, they're quite cute." He kissed her cheek, standing. "And they'll make cute ring bearers too. Speaking of ili, we should go check on her..."

Lacey sighed and nodded "yes...but I feel so guilty Max, it was obvious she didn't want this...but I was just so hopeful...am I a horrible person? I don't want her to hate me...but I need a baby..."

Maxwell nodded in understanding and sighed softly. "I know baby, I feel bad too," he said honestly. "But I do want this baby as well, you definitely aren't a bad person. Iliana did agree..." He pointed out. "She could have said no."

Lacey sighed and nodded hugging onto him and resting on his shoulder "you're right...I should think positively right? I mean she did agree and of course she'll be upset for a little while but we'll all be there for her..."

Maxwell kept his arms draped loosely around her and he nodded. "That's right. Think positive." He agreed. He kissed her cheek. "Iliana agreed, and once this is over, she'll have her normal life back knowing she helped you and we'll have a kid." He whispered, smiling.

Lacey nodded and smiled holding him close "and next week we will be married...and can start our new lives waitibg for our family to begin..." She smiled and tightened her hold "let's go see Illiana..."

Maxwell nodded, kissing her hand. "Exactly." He agreed. "Let's go." He walked into the adjoining room with her and looked at Iliana and mMarc on the bed. It didn't go unnoticed that her cheeks were wet from crying. "How are you doing?"
Iliana looked up and the happy moment ended as she remembered again. "I'm alright." She said simply, "I'm doing ok, nothing feels any different yet." She said, talking simply about her health.

Lacey nodded and swallowed "probably won't for some time..." She had obviously been crying and Marcoux looked angry and she had never seen that side of him "would you prefer if we just let you guys be?"

Maxwell was surprised by the anger on his friend's face. They had always been close and he certainly never expected to see that kind of anger directed towards him. He swallowed, looking down. "We just wanted to make sure you were ok. Thank you for doing this." He said, then he wrapped his arm around Lacey and walked out with her.

Lacey sighed and nodded "will you try on your tux for me baby...wedding planning will make me happy..."
James nodded in understanding, and clapped him on the back. "Alright then. Send my best wishes to Iliana, and best of luck with the wedding." he said. Then he grimaced. "Yeah, so looking forwards to that."
