Spider-Man Omnibus/OHC Reading List

Funny you did this. I was just looking through a list I found that tracked Dan Slott's entire run in TPB/Premier HC/OHC. Sadly there are very few OHCs for Spidey.
I thought there would be more OHCs too. Though, Spider-Man has 7 omnibus volumes. Far more than any other individual character. 17 Masterworks is also pretty solid (17 comes out late this year).

I'm a big Spidey fan and this was a refreshing alternate take on Parker and his crew.
Rel, I believe Spider-Man: The Graphic Novels is oversized. And you can offically add the Superior Foes Omnibus.

Good call on the Graphic Novels. Didn't know that book was out there. :) Updated Foes and the Dan Slott OHC to remove the 2016 date since they are already here. :) Also added Spider-Man by Todd McFarlane omnibus solicited for later this year.

Good looking out. I added all of those. Any feedback on if there is a better place for me to put the Tangled Web omnibus? These are loosely in order by publication (probably not perfect) but if you had all these on your shelf where would the proper place be?

Oh yeah, forgot about that one too. The should follow the Michelinie/McFarlane Omnibus.
Sorry Rel, forgot to answer about Tangled Web: short answer is I have no clue. Never read it. My shelves are probably different from most in that I have the "main" Spider-Man series in one place, then anything else in a separate group. So personally I would move things like Mary Jane, the Christos Gage series, Superior Foes, and some others, all into a separate subheading. That would leave the Lee/Busiek/Miller/Stern/Michilinie/Straczynski/Slott volumes in the main heading. Just my two cents of course.
If you want to go in canonical order, Untold Tales by Busiek needs to be in line with Omnibus V1. The story literally weaves between issues of the original Ditko run.
I would probably group the Dan Slott stuff together. Once you hit when he is the solo writer, everything new should pretty much be in order:
Spider-Island/Companion
Superior Spider-Man
Amazing Spider-Man V1 and V2
Spider-Man: Who Am I?
Spider-Verse
Amazing Spider-Man Worldwide V1 & V2
Amazing Spider-Man The Clone Conspiracy

Good catch. I didn't realize there was an OHC out there for the beginning of the run. Looks like a 41 issue run with the first 12 issues in the OHC. Spider-Man Other was also part of the run.

I did an update. Please let me know if anyone has any feedback on where I placed the books aiming for chronological/publishing placement. Thanks!

I can't exactly explain it, but I've never been much intrigued by the character of Venom. I think part of it is just the art I saw of the character often when I was younger, McFarlane's sort of exaggerated style, which never really spoke to me.
But how's the writing featured in this book? Is there an overarching narrative that's worth the read from end to end? Doesn't it also essentially contain the origins or Carnage, and might that be an interesting read?
Now that the book is starting to rise up in price, I'm wondering if I should pick up a copy before the inevitable. Thanks!
I also never cared for the character. To me, his initial appearance was actually intimidating: a bigger, meaner Spider-Man who couldn’t be detected by spider sense.
Once Larson took over Amazing, he added the whole long tongue and eating brains stuff which I despise. Carnage is just an even more exaggerated extension of venom and not that interesting either. Those early battles don’t stick out in my brain as being memorable.
Having said that, I know I’m in the minority when it comes to venom and carnage. Only Cates’ recent venom has been worthwhile to me.
My opinion, for what it’s worth..

After the Ben Reilly Omnibus and before the J. Michael Straczynski Omnibus.
I actually made a list for myself where all the Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus were in the timeline: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Nice list Johnny. Been thinking about putting something like that together here.
Looks like the V5 omnibus would lead right up to the Byrne Omnibus and would be the last of the numbered books.

Really impressive! Also thanks for giving me credit.
2 small details:
The part:
Volume 2
#1-#29
Spider-Man by John Byrne Omnibus
I think is suppose to be #1-#18 since that is what is collected in that omnibus.
Also v2 issues #19-21 are actually present in the Spider-Man by David Michelinie and Erik Larsen Omnibus.

Correct on both! I don't think I would have ever seen that second one. Thanks!
