Through Chapter 1 (view spoiler)[I read earlier about a tweet from Cassandra Clare relating to Sebastian and the Endarkened's gear so when Izzy made that comment about what Sebastian and his minions were wearing, I had to laugh.

I feel like Sebastian is way more insane than he originally was. Talk about throwing a tantrum. Also, Jace is right, Sebastian feels something for Clary so he wouldn't necessarily harm her. (hide spoiler)]

Like you Michelle I'm up around 100 pages. I will admit this is better than the last book. However, it's still not that great. I can honestly say that the characters got more stupid and annoying as the series went along.

I agree with Michelle. I'm about 224 pages in and I think it's improved a bit. It was everywhere and nowhere for a while but I think we're going one direction now.

I'm on page 336 and the direction is on a straight path now.

I'm up to page 199. I'm not really enjoying this book, but maybe it will get better. I'm really upset that (view spoiler)[Jordan is dead. (hide spoiler)] I'm not sure it can bounce back from that.

More than halfway through now. Finished part 1 finally.

(view spoiler)[I didn't like what happened to Mark, it was kind of sad. Jordan's death didn't affect me much. AHA! So now I know the story of Brother Zachariah! Imagine walking into Hell like it's nothing though. Also, Emma Carstairs is BAMF. (hide spoiler)]

This felt like a whole story, can't believe there're still 11 chapters left.

AMEN Hannah! I've had a tough time reading this for that exact reason!! I'm scared it will disappoint me!

Also, Holy runes at the cave entrance...I know Simon can't enter holy ground and regular runes are nothing but normal wards if they're drawn on walls, but he could enter the cave? Or does it not matter if the runes are holy or not? (hide spoiler)]

I think the story has slowed down some, but not too much to be annoying.

I think there still needs to be a whole rescue and battle sequence. Definitely more to come.

At the beginning, there was none and now everyone is part of a couple.

I loved it. If it were any other series or author's work I would have felt that there were too many holes in relation to the characters but Cassandra Clare is awesome and is gracing us with more books to feed our curious minds.

4/5 stars from me. (I would've given it a 5 but there were parts that annoyed me and sometimes it was too fast and other times too slow.)

I finished and agree with Caron's review. I also gave it 4/5 stars. I liked most of it but there were times when I felt they were some unnecessary stuff going on. I love the characters of the Infernal Devices being mentioned and even appearing. I am super excited for Lady Midnight.

If you're willing to take a break and read TID, you can read that trilogy before continuing with CoHF. There are some spoilers in CoHF for Clockwork Princess. I've heard that people enjoy it anyway. The choice is entirely up to you though.
