Lexa (x1d4dbx1f30cx1d4e3x1d4d2) | 33 comments Katie looked around, worried. It was her first day, and she was already hopelessly lost. Her room was supposed to be in the West wing... But which way was West? She looked around, hoping to find some indication that she was in the right place, but to no avail. She suddenly remembered a saying from her old Latin class.
'What was it...' She paused, before realisation dawned upon her face. 'All roads lead to Rome!' As long as she kept walking around the building, she was bound to come across the girl's dormitory. With her new philosophy in mind, she walked on with a spring in her step. She scaled corridor after corridor, but the girl's rooms were nowhere to be seen. Then, as she opened a door, she came across something quite extraordinary.

It was a mechanical wonder. Half of the room was filled with holograms of unfinished machinery and robotics, and the rest was bustling with workspaces, tools, nuts and bolts, and anything and everything else a mad scientist would need. Katie walked over to a thin piece of metal, and gave it a twang.

((Enter Jarvis! Sorry I took so long, by the way.))

((It's fine! I took way longer oops))

One glass wall panel had been destroyed by another of Tony's chaotic flight experiments, but nevertheless, the AI had put up an invisible screen of sensory light to tell him when someone entered. It proved useful, it turned out. Upon picking up movement, an image of the person who had just entered was transferred to Tony's computer screen (although it remained switched off) and another was programmed to be comprehended by the AI. JARVIS had been Anthony Stark's friend and employee for as long as the boy could remember. JARVIS was also there to guide him, but most of the time, Tony disregarded his advice and went on with what he thought was best anyways- JARVIS could not, and would not counter his master. Right now, it was his duty to wirelessly protect the laboratory and most importantly, to protect the suits, which were underneath the floor for the most part. But now, JARVIS focused on their intruder. It was a little girl of perhaps thirteen, and no more, with bright hair and an energetic, childish manner. Well, she was a child. But she went to S.H.I.E.L.D's academy, no doubt, and therefore had the potential to threaten Tony's secrets. At last, JARVIS spoke. I do hope you realise that what you are doing is called trespassing, Katie.

Lexa (x1d4dbx1f30cx1d4e3x1d4d2) | 33 comments 'Huh?' Katie whipped her head around. Somebody had spoken - a man, judging by the tone of voice - but nobody seemed to be there. 'Trespassing? I was just looking for the girl's dormitory!' She could not see anyone inside the room, but looking around would seem rude, and she didn't want to "trespass" further. 'Where are you, anyway? How do you know my name?' She frowned. If that person was a stalker, Katie had an energy blast with his name on it. She waited, slightly impatiently, for an explanation.

The British accent remained prominent as the AI spoke, the voice calm, collective. Yes, trespassing. This is, clearly, not a dormitory, but a lab. Mr. Stark would be displeased to find someone in here, uninvited, so I suggest you leave. Your name is in the school records- as such, it is easily accessible. A pause followed. I am everywhere, and I am nowhere. Do yourself a favour, child, and leave. I must not disappoint Sir. The lab remained silent but for the voice- nothing moved. Not even the sound of breathing apart from Katie's was to be heard.

Lexa (x1d4dbx1f30cx1d4e3x1d4d2) | 33 comments 'Alright. I understand. Sorry for the trouble.' Katie went to the door, but then stopped. A hidden camera. How quaint. She turned back, slightly annoyed. 'Before I go, could you delete that image?' She gestured to a monitor, using her powers to turn it on, and revealing her picture. 'I don't want "Mr. Stark" to get the wrong idea. I didn't mean to "trespass", I just took a wrong turn.' She waited for a reply, arms folded. 'Security systems.' She muttered under her breath.

Very well, the picture shall be removed. In all cases, here is the way to the girls' dormitory of your age. Instead of the girl's picture, a hologram of the school appeared, exact to every last detail. Follow the red pathway, JARVIS instructed, as he showed her the way through multiple hallways illuminated with red in the hologram. It will lead you to the place you seek. Be sure not to come here again unless invited, Sir would not be so pleased.
It was at that moment that an enraged, bitter, and thoroughly hurt Tony Stark came marching into his lab, notebook tucked underneath one arm. "JARVIS, buddy, wake up." He instructed, snapping his fingers.
At your service, Sir.
"Thanks. I'm gonna need you to help me boost yourself into the mainframe, and then I'll be able to-" his voice faltered near the end and he cut himself off, eyes narrowed at the girl before him. "What the hell are you doing here?" he demanded.

Lexa (x1d4dbx1f30cx1d4e3x1d4d2) | 33 comments 'Just getting directions.' Katie simply stated. She had always been able to hide any embarrassment like an oscar-winning actor. 'Sorry for the intrusion. I must've took a wrong turn. Thanks!' She said back to JARVIS as she went to walk out. However, as she did so, she caught a glimpse of Tony's face. 'Uh... Are you okay?'

((UGH!!! I did so much there just to get it to five lines, and yet I still failed! RAAAAGE!!!))

[It's okay, I'll let you off once.]

You sound in distress, Sir. May I offer you one of your special smoothies? JARVIS asked his creator from the back of the room.
Tony zipped up his hoodie right to the top, feeling self-conscious of the piece of metal that was embedded in the hole in his chest. "Not now, JARVIS," he replied in a mutter, flapping his hand dismissively towards his shut-down computer, where the sound of JARVIS' voice was coming from. The Stark boy really wasn't in the mood for people taking care of him- and although he'd been thoroughly hurt, he wouldn't let it show, particularly not to some insolent little, intrusive girl such as the one before him. "Go away," he snapped at her. "Didn't you see the 'private' sign on the door? Don't you know rifling around in other people's things can get you killed? Scram." He seethed, as he went to go sit down at his desk. The boy shook his head, and started up the computer.

Lexa (x1d4dbx1f30cx1d4e3x1d4d2) | 33 comments 'Okay, Jeez!' Katie grumbled.
'I was only showing a little humanity! Maybe you could try picking up a thing or two!' She stormed towards the door, literally sparking with rage.
'This is the world that we live in, huh? Be nice to someone, and they shove it all back in your face!' A few more grumbles could be heard over the circuits fizzing around her.

[Fanfiction! ^-^]

Tony simply sat down at his desk and lit up the circuits, ignoring those that were fizzing- JARVIS knew how to operate with fizzing circuits. "Get out, I said!" He snapped back, rubbing his raw eye with a fist. He watched her go, jaw squared. Insolent, stupid kid. "C'mon, bud. Time to set this up." Once she'd gone, Tony set JARVIS up to multitask; to phone a company to fix up the broken door and to help Tony set him up into the entire system.
