Sofiab I've watched the the episodes that are out and really like it so far.
They've gone through the first part of the book rather quickly but I don't think they've missed anything crucial and I like the addition of Lady Poole trying to communicate through embroidery.

Sheila From Wikipedia:

"The series premiered in the UK on 17 May 2015. It is scheduled to debut in the US on BBC America on 13 June 2015, and will air in Canada on Space."

The first one is on BBC America On Demand early too, since like at least two days ago, I'm planning to watch tomorrow.

That's all to the good then, they could gloss over hundreds of pages and not miss anything.

Anna I've been watching it and love it so far. It does seem a little rushed, but the main story line still remains. I don't think they have messed it up.

Sheila I just saw the first episode Saturday night on BBC America. I'll probably stick with it if I can remember to pencil it in (BBC America is not one of my usual go-to channels).

Ben I thought it was fantastic. Great acting and sets. It seemed to me that they put allot of work into the show and my partner and I couldn't stop watching it until the season was over. A magical masterpiece and I absolutely cannot wait for season 2. I hope bbc get great ratings for the show,, they deserve it

No I strongly disliked it. I understand why they made the choices they did but I disliked it all the same.

The Gentleman was the most jarring aspect for me, he was played so straight up evil and menacing. In the book he is much more disturbing because of his child like qualities (playful, short attention span).

The love story also jarred. Jonathan and Arabella's marriage played like a great romantic love story. The book version was much more nuanced and interesting. I was very troubled by the changes they made to Stephen's story and character.

Overall I hated it but, at the same time I think they did the best they could. It's not an easy book to adapt.

Lariela Seven episodes really wasn't long enough for the book. (But I still liked it.)

Sorrel I actually really liked it and thought it was very true to the book! Perhaps it is because I watched the TV programme before reading the book, but I thought after reading it that the show had really captured the magic and whimsy of the book.

Grace I liked it up until the final episode which I thought was utterly rubbish. Very dissapointed.

Matt I never finished the entire novel, but I liked the TV series.
