Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Losing my daughter G-d forbid. Or being raped...I would rather kill myself first.

what's your favorite color and if applicable why?

message 5802: by Bidemi (new)

Bidemi | 32 comments emotional pain, its the worst both the enduring and the aftermath of it.

message 5803: by Halah (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments @Bidemi, you're supposed to answer the question above, and then leave a question of your own :)

Purple. Its been my favourite since I can remember. idk why, I just find it appealing. Everyone knows that purple is my colour..

The most beautiful thing you've ever heard? Be it a song, sound, words..

message 5804: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments The most beautiful enchanting music ever that just picks me up and transports me in my mind to a lush enchanted forest id's the film score from the live action Peter pan 2003 by James Howard Newton. The track is Fairy Dance.

If you could pass a law what would it be?

message 5805: by Halah (last edited Mar 10, 2015 06:37PM) (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments I hereby declare the illegality of the use of weapons ( guns, bombs, etc), sale of weapons, production of weapons, distribution of weapons and the owning of weapons. All weapon owners, traders, sellers, users, will serve a lifetime in prison and pay a fine of $100,000.

Same?

message 5806: by Ben (last edited Mar 10, 2015 10:36PM) (new)

Ben Wong (bendwong) | 41 comments I'd just strip their money if I were going to give them a life sentence xP.

I'd increase taxes by $50 and send that extra money to places like Africa. For poverty and starving children and whatnot.

Does music inspire you? If you listen to good music, do all these story ideas randomly pop into your head?

message 5807: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Yes totally!!!! Whenever I write I listen to film scores and classical music and suddenly I just see stories in my mind's eye...

Same?

message 5808: by Halah (last edited Mar 11, 2015 06:42AM) (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments @Ben lol true. I'll do that then!

I've never tried listening to music while writing, but yes sometimes a song sets a mood that sparks an idea.. Like listening to sad songs make me want to write dramatic poetry, or a song that has a story makes me imagine my own version of it or imagine reasons that the person wrote such a song.. So yes.

Was there a moment when after you were never the same again?

message 5809: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments After finding out someone very close to me had been betraying me for years. In a moment I lost my naivete and adulthood began.

message 5810: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Same?

message 5811: by Ben (new)

Ben Wong (bendwong) | 41 comments This question brings up depressing answers xD
For me, probably telling my dad I couldn't live with him anymore, which didn't happen too long ago. He would've left when I was sixteen, but I can't wait that long. He's one of those ignorant, control-freak types. Really hard to deal with.

The or one of the most difficult points in your life? Since we've got a sad chain of answers going now.

message 5812: by Halah (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments A moment of silence for the bad moments in life .. ;[
Sorry for starting the 'sad chain' ;P

Awhile after I turned 17 around new years. Basically an existential crisis but it went further than that and I realize now it was probably depression.. It went on for about 2 or 3 months. I was also beginning to really feel the affect of anxiety and I hated it, and I was scared. Its hard to explain.. But after that, I'd say my 17th year was one of my best. I changed and developed a lot.. Yup. this also kind of answers the previous q.

What makes you feel better?

(Note: I extended the deadline of the contest going on so if you're interested.. go write.)

message 5813: by Alyza (new)

Alyza | 25 comments There's lots of things I do to feel better. hm... Escaping into a good book or playing the guitar violin or piano. Or listening to songs. I also sometimes write down any feelings a have on my computer. I pour myself out and then when I'm finished I erase it all. Feels good (:

Something/someone everyone seems to love but you cant stand?

message 5814: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments FROZEN

Are you a picky eater?

message 5815: by Halah (last edited Mar 14, 2015 09:50PM) (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments Haha YES I second that.

No, I eat anything. Unless its like cow intestines or something. Or asparagus.

Do you like your voice?

message 5816: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Hmmm...talking voice yes, singing well I love singing but I can't so not really...

What's your earliest memory?

message 5817: by Ben (new)

Ben Wong (bendwong) | 41 comments This creepy as hell dream when I was just a kid where Lucky the Lotto Cat stood up outside my bedroom, said something to me, and then ate me. And that was when I was, like, two years old ;_; I was scared of the dark and Lucky the Lotto Cat for the next six-ish years.

Worst dream you've ever had?

message 5818: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Too many of them...
I guess this science fiction dream I had I promise you it could've been a movie, where we (Me and five hero's who were supposedly my friends, who I have never met before lol) had to save the world and at the end we had to fight Death (this creepy white creature) abd then at the last battle I got scared and backed out... yeah I know dumb of me...and then my friends were the heroes and not me...
it would've been a great book but in a dream it was so creepy abd then I was disappointed in myself...

Who is your celebrity crush?

message 5819: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments Anthony Perkins omgggg

What's your favorite type of weather?

message 5820: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Spring! with a breeze...
The air is fresh and promising, it makes me feel so hopeful and energetic. I feel like standing on a ledge, spreading my arms towards the heavens with my face upturned, my eyes closed...embracing the beauty of life...ahhh...

What's your favorite comfort food?

message 5821: by Halah (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments Chocolate.

What's the most daring thing you've done recently?

message 5822: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Something someone everyone seems to love but you can't stand?
I asked my friend this question and her answer: Myself

message 5823: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Most daring thing I've done recently? Testifying in court. It was emotionally draining, but it helped me feel empowered instead of victimized.

If you could live in a book world for a year, which book would you like to jump into?

message 5824: by Halah (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments The Night Circus *-*

What do you think is the most asked question on this thread?

message 5825: by Ben (new)

Ben Wong (bendwong) | 41 comments Same?
I could probably create an infinite loop by asking the same question xD

I love rain. The melancholy mood makes me happy for some reason. Do you like rain? What mood does it give you?

message 5826: by Halah (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments lol oh yeah

I totally agree with you. I'm always motivated to do things on rainy days, esp. creative things. And it puts me in a good mood. Because really, its amazing and beautiful but we're so used to it, take it for granted..

After reading, do you feel that the book affects your day? Do you start thinking like the characters, confusing both worlds?

message 5827: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments I do that with everything, not just books. Movies particularly do that to me.

Speaking of which, do you prefer reading books or watching movies?

message 5828: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 331 comments Oh gosh. Well, it really depends on the book and the movie. If the book was incredibly descriptive and really comes to life, then I'd choose that over the world, really. :P But, if the movie is really well made and full of action, like a Marvel movie, then I literally put down any book and watch the thing from beginning to end without interruption.

Same?

message 5829: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Wish I could say for certain books, after all that would make me sound all sophisticated and educated...but movies are alive!
Alicia is right, it really depends. I wouldn't put down a Harry Potter book for any movie, and I wouldn't stop watching The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe for any book. Really depends if it's good or not.

What is ONE most important thing you want to accomplish in your life?

message 5830: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 331 comments @ Mindy,
I'm Alina, not Alicia. ;)

One of the most important things I want to accomplish at life is simply to succeed at it. I want to get into a good college and get the proper education, so I can get a really good job and live life fairly well.

Do you do anything special for St. Patrick's Day besides wear something green?

message 5831: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments Pft, I haven't even been wearing green today. I usually don't even remember it.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

message 5832: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Sorry Alina, my mistake

message 5833: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Bright green. It's bright and optimistic but still has a seriousness to it. It's grass and trees. Sweet yet sharp mint. Nature. Lucky four leaf clovers. Green light for Go, rushing ahead without thinking things through.
If you could communicate with one species of animals, which animal would you choose?

message 5834: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 331 comments @ Mindy,
No worries! ;)

@Hayden,
The only reason I remembered was because my brothers pinch really, really hard. XD

If I could communicate with any animal, it would probably be my dog. She's my best friend and I've had her for a long time. Sometimes I just want to hear what she has to say, you know?

What is your favorite type of tea, if you like tea?

message 5835: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments *throws all tea into the Boston Harbor because I'm a true 1773 kid*

(aka I hate tea)

What song drives you nuts?

message 5836: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 331 comments *Dives into Boston Harbor because I love tea*
Honestly, you should try some hibiscus tea, lightly sugared, with a whole strawberry in it. It's to die for.

Most cheesy Disney movie songs, especially Frozen's songs. *shudders*

What song do you keep coming back to listen too, even though you've probably heard it a million times?

message 5837: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments SO MANY HOW CAN I CHOOSE

Umm I guess I'll go with "If You Can Find Me I'm Here" (from the 1966 Evening Primrose)?? Mostly because I just really love that song and Anthony Perkins is adorable slay me 3

How have you been doing?

message 5838: by Ben (new)

Ben Wong (bendwong) | 41 comments 80% of the trash played on Australian radio nowadays. Even the classical station is better than 'pop' or 'latest hits', in my opinion anyways... And Frozen. That's everything actually worth mentioning. I'm quite cynical toward modern pop.
That being said, I love good soundtracks, even without lyrics.
Favorite type/style of music?

message 5839: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments @Alina, I'll try that hibiscus tea, sounds delicious!
@Hayden , you crack me up
Film scores and soundtracks...it transports me to different places and I watch dramas played out in my mind while listening. Sometimes I start acting/dancing in my living room to the music

message 5840: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Same?

message 5841: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments

I love too many genres how on Earth can I choose ;_;

I love the Romantic period in classical music, swing/lounge music, and R&B in particular.

What website do you spend the most time on?

message 5842: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Believe it or not this isn't an advertisement...
Goodreads.
I don't have a Facebook profile so guess this is my Facebook

message 5843: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Duo you enjoy reading a book and then watching the film or vice versa?

message 5844: by Ben (new)

Ben Wong (bendwong) | 41 comments I didn't even realize I replied too late to one of the previous questions. Welp.

Barely ever watching the film and reading the book, unless it's Ender's Game or something of the sort. The Hunger Games movies were okay in my opinion, a little overrated, and the first-person present tense isn't my style. I like both the Harry Potter books and movies... But to answer the question, not normally, no.

Same?

message 5845: by Halah (last edited Mar 19, 2015 07:47AM) (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments I usually read the books first because they are always better. The Hobbit films being an exception though, they outdid the book..

Whats the worst lie you ever told?

message 5846: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 331 comments "I'm okay." I know, that sounds super mellow-dramatic, but still...

What was the worst lie you ever told yourself?

message 5847: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments Trusting someone just because they were family. When I started seeing bad signs I couldn't admit to myself that someone so close could be so cruel so I lied to myself...
sigh...
Many things in life I wish I could do over yet at the same time I regret nothing because it is only through mistakes that growth takes place. Everything was and is a learning curve.

What are you working on (writing wise) now?

message 5848: by Halah (new)

Halah (valhalah) | 925 comments An essay about the portray of poverty in the works of Wordsworth and William Blake. ._.

What object would you pick out of your childhood to represent it?

message 5849: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Diamond | 190 comments My teddy bear...
I'm not kidding. I took Emily bear everywhere with me! Once I got older I put her away buy wouldn't throw her out, it was too sentimental. Now that my daughter is two, it's hers...family heirloom and all...

This is a personal question but it's still a question so it counts right?
Should I post my novel? For those of you who posted before did it help you? And should I be embarrassed that it's not as good as other people's writing?
I think the deadline would help me be more motivated to write consistently.

message 5850: by Ben (new)

Ben Wong (bendwong) | 41 comments Sure you should post your novel! Here on Goodreads I haven't had many reads but I think it's still good to have my stuff out here. And, for the last question, no way in heck should you be embarrassed about your own writing! I'm only a teenager with a fourteen year-old vocabulary and people have still read my stuff, it's how us writers improve.

Question: Say you're working on a piece and you have a stockpile of extra ideas. Would you rather save those ideas for a different story/sequel or try implement them wherever you see fit?
