Pentatonix - Hey Momma / Hit the Road Jack
For a second my speakers weren't aligned right and the beatboxing was super loud. YOU GO KEVIN

YES. I listened to all of PTX vol. 2 today, and along with Daft Punk, this has got to be my favorite song.

I know you love the song The Call by Regina Spektor. I love it, too. But while reading a particularly heart-shattering book, I listened to it non-stop, and now I can't listen to it without curling into fetal position and sobbing. What do I do?

I actually didn't like Hey Momma at first, to be honest. It's SO not my type of song, but I had PTX Vol. 2 on shuffle while I was doing chores and didn't want to get up to change the song, and then I couldn't stop grooving to it and harmonizing like thirty seconds later. Hehe.

Hey Momma isn't the type of thing I'd normally listen to, but then first of all, it's PENTATONIX we're talking about, and second, they paired it with Hit The Road, Jack, which is my jam! Together, they just made it work. :)

I think it also has to do with how I have negative associations with Hit the Road Jack. (blame the Ella Enchanted movie... we don't talk about that) But yeah, Pentatonix can take a song I don't like or that just isn't my thing and transform it into something I love.

Oh, that movie. XD I still love that song, but I can see where the movie might make you dislike it. Pentatonix... they're magic.
I just watched that live performance where Avi busted the speakers that you posted, and I doubled over laughing. Only him.

I love Mitch's part at the very beginning. It's so haunting.

I'm still kind of floored that he can just... break speakers? with his voice? We're lucky that Avi is such a sweetheart. If he were a jerk, imagine what he could to do his enemies. Just sing super low and super loud and break their windows or bust their favorite sound system or shake their floorboards in the middle of the night.

I know! It's insane. I saw in the comments that he's apparently done that more than once. That just made me laugh so hard! Oh my gosh! XD But I never noticed how much Avi loves to dance when he sings! He was really getting into the song in that performance.
Oh man, Avi's dancing is one of the happiest things ever. That's actually pretty tame for a live performance, though, if you compare it to when they sing "Let's Get It On" to an audience member... bahaha.
Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9fyOy... Skip to about 2:00 to get to the actual song. He's not dancing the whole time because he has to hit some very low notes, but you'll know it when you see it. (By the way, you have NO IDEA what I would do to be in that girl's place this February. If I have to compete in a Pentaholic Hunger Games I will.)

Okay, I'm done.
My current obsession is The Neighbourhood. They're fantastic, so I've listened to their album like once a day while I am writing. XD
