Why do they make you want to rip off your ears?
It just sounds really weird. There are some chromatic tones in there that just sound awful. But it's really cool at the same time.
I feel like now I have to listen to it so I can see if i want to rip my ears out as well.
I've been listening to a ton of Pentatonix recently, and now I see what everyone on here has been obsessing about! They're amazing!

It's pretty. I see what chords you're talking about. They threw me off for the first few seconds, but I prefer the parts of the song with them because then it sounds less like F major and it also gives the song a neat twist emotionally.
Yeah, it throws a cool twist in there for sure. I can't quite tell what she's doing, though…is that a C minor chord at the end of that second line ("The wind talks back")?

@MaxyI did some really close listening to the Ingrid Michaelson song, and it sounds like she's just building a half-diminished 7th on D. The chord (with the melody) is D3-C4-F4-Ab5 So nothing too out of the ordinary -- certainly "kosher" to a classically-trained composer like myself. XD

Okay. NO SHAME. Um, yeah. I don't think that she has a lot of talent, actually, I think she's incredibly over-hyped and stuff for a ten year old, but I do think her song is catchy. Her voice is kind of annoying sometimes though.
