I liked this book because it reminds me of one of my favorite books The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner. Sage and Gen are so much alike. Both smart and clever; and both not what they seem.
I like books with protagonists like Sage. He is good but does not always make the right choices; and because of this he agonizes over the outcome. He is brave but afraid that he is not good enough. He is witty and values friendship.
I loved the story but it is Sage that makes the book great.

But she spun me around so much throughout the story, that I was still surprised when my confident prediction came true! Sage is a marvelously unreliable narrator, and while I love Runaway King I have to say I loved this one just a little bit more.
soo cool
but i KNEW he was prince, after i realised he was always planning ahead xD

true dat.

I knew he was the prince too!! like as soon as I read the description.

You know, a lot of people make comments that really reveal the ending. Sort of "wink, wink" kind of things that instantly alert people to the conclusion. In other words, people are not subtle enough, and yet give no warning about spoilers. For instance, putting Sage's name in quote marks is rather obvious. I had already figured out how it would end before I even knew about Goodreads, but I still enjoy the anticipation, the vague feeling that perhaps you were wrong after all. After looking at a few discussion forums it was painfully clear how it would end. I just think that unless you want to spoil it for others, you should think about being more discreet or putting up a spoiler warning. After all, many of you seem to think the best part was the mysteriousness and Sage's cleverness, so don't take that away from first time readers! Let them enjoy the unknown as well!

Aptly said. Couldn't do better if I tried. I was one of those for whom the book was ruined due to spoilers so yes olz do be a bit more discreet

P.S. Continuing on spoilers: I love watching Doctor Who. Back when I was just starting the show, I accidentally came across a spoiler. All it was was a name, but it ruined it. :/ It would have been nice to find out on the show, but hey, c'est la vie!

Eliza- which name was it? With the hiding spoiler tag, thing.

I thought it was so good! Really enjoy reading the other ones as well. Although the last one, Shadow Throne, was kinda slow: the only good part being when Imogen was discovered not dead.

River. The spoiler let slip who she was.

Oh! That would be annoying :-)
I loved this book! I think it's still is my favorite. It was adventurous, mysterious, Medieval, and still had the integrated romance and friendship.
