Do you think Dylan O'Brien was a good choice for Thomas?

hannah renee. OK, I don't really think that Dylan O'Brien is the right person to play Thomas... I would picture Thomas as played by someone who at least looks like Josh Hutcherson or Ben Affleck, with that puppy-eyes look. Also, even though Dylan is serious, he doesn't capture that sweet and sensitive side... lol

Thoughts?

Nikita I like him.

Emma I think Dylan is a great choice. Sure, he's a lot prettier than I imagined for Thomas, but I like him. He takes the role very seriously and I think he just suits it. I pretty much love all of the cast.

And who the hell says Dylan doesn't have that puppy-eyes look? If you ask me, and every single one of his fans, they'd disagree with you on that.

Ilana i don't know that i have an opinion one way or another on him as Thomas. i feel like he was good but i don't nkow that there was anyone else that i think could have done a better job either.

Emma In truth I thought Will Poulter was the best performance in the film. He fitted the role so perfectly and his acting was fantastic. Anyone else agree?

Kelly Brigid ♡ Eh, I guess he was fine as Thomas. I pictured Thomas different from Dylan O'Brien, but his acting was decent, so I'm not complaining.

@Emma: Will Poulter was hands-down the best actor in the movie. That scene in the end? Wow. I was actually horrified when I first found out that Will Poulter was playing Gally, because the only movie I had seen him in before The Maze Runner was that Narnia movie when he was like 12.

Kelly Brigid ♡ ...he was 17. Uh, that was my second guess. Because he annoyed the hell out of me in that movie, lol

Well, that was the point. He was supposed to be annoying. And then in ..."

I was joking.

Kelly Brigid ♡ Emma wrote: "And to be honest @Kelly I was also not too keen on Will as Gally when I first found out. I had this perfect imagine of him in my head: tall and skinny with black hair (as described in the book), ta..."

Yeah, I imagined like he was described in the book, so I was VERY surprised when I saw Will Poulter, haha.

mitch I first knew Dylan from teen wolf (yeah baby I'm a fan of teen wolf and I love Stiles so much) and then I found out he would play Thomas. And I was like "wtf??" i didn't find any Thomas-y figure in him. Just like wes ball said. But when I watched the movie and saw that his acting was pretty good, i wasn't disappointed. That makes him a good actor anyway. I think that was the last time I judge an actor who was about to take a role in a movie. We never know what they can do until we see how they do it.
And for Will playing Gally, I wasn't so surprised. I can't imagine anyone else playing Gally. I've watched him in a movie after Narnia, he took a role in We're The Millers. He was fantastic, a genius if I may say. Pretty good actor. Nobody else can be Gally.

It's my opinion, no hard feelings

Emma Why?

Andreas Yeah

Alex Well Dylan is like really really hot! and he does have a sweet side, you just need to see between his conflicting emotions as there also were during the book. Although in the book(I also pictured Thomas to be played by Logan Lerman with a haircut in when i was reading them. No complaints.) Thomas was awkward and not attractive at all, so if they were going to make Thomas' actor GORGEOUS, Theresa should have been a bit prettier not to be mean or judgmental, just my taste. Also, in the book Theresa was a vey smart and intellectual person so they should have made her not look at Thomas cluelessly like that, she should have been just as, if not more intuitive than Thomas. But anyway, LOVE DYLAN O'BRIEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mitch Yeah, I agree with Alex about Teresa.
Physically, Kaya's perfect for Teresa. And to be honest, I like her. But yeah, she shouldn't have looked at Thomas cluelessly like that, she needs to change that. Let's see if she will do any better in the second movie. I hope she will. I'm optimistic about it tho.
*no hard feelings*

Emma What about when he's in the pit and telling Newt, Teresa, Minho and chuck about what he saw during the changing. How he was telling Teresa "We did this to them." And shes like "No." That bits annoying because in the book she is telling him. And she's not at all surprised or in denial.

hannah renee. Okay, after having watched the whole movie, I can see that he made a good Thomas. I think the pic to the movie was just kind of off-putting for his look. The movie really was horrid though.

Nameer Ashraf Well yeahh.I watched the movie and I liked the way he acted.I can say that he made a good Thomas, but the only thing that bothered me that the movie was just kind of wrong for his look. But yeahh I liked him and I think Dylan O'Brien was a good choice for Thomas.

Reese I think Dylan O'Brein did a wonderful job! He is attractive and a great actor! I love Teen Wolf so seeing him in the Maze Runner movie was pretty cool! I read the book and loved it but, the movie not as much. The book was detailed, interesting, and had lots of cliff hanging moments. The movie was not as interesting or detailed. I think Dylan did a great job but, the movie wasn't anywhere close to as good as th e book. I know they never are though. That's just my opinion though. this is on a whole different story though so!

I think Dylan O Brian is a better actor than Josh Hutchinson. Ben Affleck is just too old. Josh Hutchinson is also just too ugly

Emma @Soph that's a really mean thing to say. I think J hutch is gorgeous.

SD Hey, it's just my opinion. First of all, he is not gorgeous. I take back my previous statement... he is not ugly. Just in the realm of celebrities, I feel as if he should at least be more 'good-looking'. Or maybe he just looked bad in the movies

SD Ok, I'm sorry but I am entitled to my own strong opinions.

Danique I think Dylan is the perfect choice for Thomas. It just fits. Plus, he is a wonderful actor and did a great job.

And he does have that puppy-eyes look. He's the cutest.

hannah renee. Yeah, he does have a puppy-eyed look. I just hadn't seen the movie yet, lol. Also, I wasn't suggesting that they make Ben Affleck be in the movie--he is too old--I meant someone that had that look. He was soooo cute when he was younger. And yes, I do think JHutch is cute. He's far more attractive to me then the stone-faced Channing Tatum or Theo James (although Theo is really hot).
