Deronta Spencer | 2 comments Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help me with the name of a book? I read it a few years ago and I would like to read it again but I forgot the name of it. It is set in the U.K. It is about four girls who are close friends. One of them has a baby and abandons it. The plot of the book is which one of the friends in the birth mother. I also think that the father was the brother of one of the girls. I know this is not a lot to go on but its all I can remember. Does anybody have a clue what the name of this book is? Thanks for your help.

Additional details:

The book was new when I read it around 2006/2007. It is set in the modern day U.K. The girl given up for adoption was named Hannah. I brought it in a bookstore. It was written by a woman but I do not remember her name. It sounds similar to Lace by Shirley Cochran but I know it is not that book because it is set in more recent times than Lace.

Deronta, I've moved your thread down to Unsolved which is where it belongs. Also, you will want to put some kind of descriptor into your title, as many of our members won't check out threads with a generic "help me" title. They mostly just read the threads that they think they have a chance of ID-ing. As a moderator, I view it as part of my duty to read ALL threads, even if I'm almost positive there is no way I will know the title. But, as a moderator, I'm doing that as part of my "job."

Now, having gotten the "lecture" out of the way. . .

How long ago is "a few years"? This can differ from person to person by a lot. Some of our members think that 2 years is a few, others view it as 5 or 10 years.

What age range is this aimed at--YA, NA, Adult (and, btw, Adult does not mean XXX, it means age.)

Where did you find the book--library, bookstore, grocers, laying on a friends bookcase?

How did you find it--recommendation from a friend, a review, the cover grabbed you, the back grabbed you, it was on a shelf that said "Our staff recommends", it was laying there and you were desperate for something to pass the time (sitting in doctor's office, hospital etc.)

Do you have any memories of the cover?

Was it old or new when you read it? Was it set in current times (say 1990 to present) or some time earlier than that?

Plot details added to header....yes, this is still useful after a thread is solved.
