Enjoy!

*would* work if the other people weren't there. That's more of the 'cartoon version'.

Yes, I stand by the fact that it looks like a woman's back. Adding it to the post. <3
I may need to sub out my book for Option 5. Does The Three-Body Problem work? (I'm asking bc of the hyphen) Thanks! :)
Melissa wrote: "I may need to sub out my book for Option 5. Does The Three-Body Problem work? (I'm asking bc of the hyphen) Thanks! :)"That works :) As long as it has a counting style number it's all good.
Subbing gets more and more interesting the closer it is to the end. lol. I swear I run around flailing at least a handful of times every season so far. XD

And yep, that's one lady all alone on the cover for your second choice :) Enjoy!
Would this work for Option 3? Not sure if it's obvious enough that it's a female.
Thank you in advance;

Hmm...this is a toughie. I *know* just from general awareness of the book that it's supposed to be a female on the cover, but looking at it purely on the basis of would I look at this and think "girl/female" I would have to say no. Because the illustration comes off more masculine to me? Without seeing more of the figure that would be my first impulse. Just for ease of moderating, and the fact that it's not clear solely from the cover, I'd have to say no.
But I wouldn't be upset if a second opinion was called in and one of the mods disagreed with me. ;)
Hopefully that makes sense. I've had an iffy brain today that can't decide if it's going to migraine or not. :P
I know! It was tough for me, as I know it's a female (since I've read the book already) but I get what you're saying. Was trying to find a place to use it (since Seq Art IS allowed here and this is one of the very few I've ever read for another challenge!). I'm sure I'll find another book to use here, but thought it was worth trying! Thanks!

The crescent within the full wouldn't disqualify it though.
is another example of one that would work. (also for option 5)The moon one is the toughest/strictest one for sure. Sorry :(

That's okay - it makes perfect sense with the Kaguya-hime story!
Alicia wrote: "What about these for Option 3?

would work for option 3 or 5. :)
is a no for option 3, because of the human shape behind her. BUT it would work for option 5 -- having a number in the title "Vol. 1"
Thanks! I thought that as soon as I posted it... :-) Morgan wrote: "Alicia wrote: "What about these for Option 3?

I do that sometimes. haha.
Enjoy!

for option 2 because I'm super paranoid and twitchy. As you know."Looks good to me. ;) I'll add it to the post.
Please verify for option 1: RetellingEmma: A Modern Retelling
(Oh and this qualifies for Option 3 - single female on cover - as well)

Enjoy :D
Would Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 02 work for option 5? You specified counting numbers so I'm not sure if the zero would make that book not work. On the other hand I would read it as just 'two' if it were on a mailbox, for example.Love your task!! So creative :D

Yes, that would work for option 5. Even with the 0 the 2 would count on it's own, but I also consider 0 a valid counting number. (Though very sad when counting ones gold nuggets!) ;)
I'm guessing this one isn't going to work for either option #1 or #3? The Penelopiad. It's a retelling, but sadly not marked as such by genre. Is the drawing of the woman enough? If not to both of those options, could I get The Girls at the Kingfisher Club confirmed for both option #1 and #3 please? I haven't decided which one to use it for yet! Probably with Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights for option #5.

I know the genre has been there before, but yeah, it isn't right now. And unfortunately I think I wouldn't count it for the woman, because I never realized that's what it was. lol! And that's the physical edition I read.
would work though out of the alternates for #3
is approved for opt #3AND opt #1 (verified as "Retellings 36 users")
and that's an amazing option for #5 -- not that I've read it, but that it fits the option 4 times over. (Two, Eight, Twenty, Twenty-Eight)
Enjoy!
Trish wrote: "Just double checking that dates are okay for Option 5?"Something like: 11/22/63?
Because that would work since it has 11, 22 and 63 which are all counting numbers.
It wouldn't work if it was like....November 4th. Because ordinals don't count. Fourth, etc.
Does that make sense? Or did you have a specific book you were wondering about?

That makes sense. I was thinking years, so 1066, 1485 etc. But by the sound of it that ought to be okay.

Yep! Those would work perfectly, plus I'm sure we'd all love to get so high in numbers counting our gold nuggets! :D
Cait wrote: "Another moon book for you to approve! This one okay?

Either of those would fit for option 3.

I can't find anyone else on the cover, so that works for me! Though I did wait until I could see it from my laptop instead of my phone to make sure. XD
Enjoy!
