Headless is totally okay, but unfortunately she's a statue. :(

Though I do like her style!

I didn't realize that was a doll on the cover. I could read China Dolls for option 3 since it was approved already.

No head needed...at least not on the cover. ;) I'm sure she needs it in general. I'll add it to the approved post.

I did that once where I thought it was a flower, but then I got the physical book and it was a dress underwater and...yeah... lol.

Thanks!!!

Unfortunately his legs break the circle! If he was a ghost and you could see the line of the circle behind his legs...that's a different story.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you!

Only numbers in titles work for option 5, but no one else asked it and it's always best to get things clear for yourself when slogging through the old TBR looking for books. :)

Only titles work, so if they had just swapped the title/subtitle (which I actually like the sound of) it would have. aka: Ten Sisters on a Mission: If Nuns Ruled the world.

But Vol.1 and things of that nature count as part of the title. Anything before the :

Curses, foiled again!!!!

(I had also wanted to use One Thousand and One Nights: A Retelling for Option 1 - but no one (or enough people) have shelved it as such. :( This looks like such an easy task for me but I'm coming up short for a second book.)

If it helps any, One Thousand and One Nights: A Retelling works for option #5.

And it would also work for the Diversity task since the author is Lebanese. (Just off the cuff. It's still early and I can't stop slotting books. :P)

Sadly, I already have a book for #5 (that was the easy one :p).

I think I'll dig around in my unread romance novels - lots of ladies on covers there. ;)

ETA: I think I have it! All's Fair in Love and Scandal by Caroline Linden is out in ebook now, but will publish on 6/9 in paperback coming in at 162 pages. Option 3 covered :)

If you happen to see the other book with the genre on it feel free to poke and get the genre verified. If I'm not working, I'm basically reading/on the computer.

In a total moment of serendipity, the book that didn't qualify sucked and I saw a book at the library that is on my TBR and didn't strike me as a fit when running my eyes down my list but hit me when seen in the flesh! I am going to read:

99 Days

Don't you just love when stuff like this happens? :) now to contemplate the second book I am choosing for this task...

I don't know if I slept too much or not enough today. haha. This is the first one for 3 that I really had to look at, but I'm pretty sure that: a) that's a girl and b) she's alone. I will admit to squinting for far longer than probably necessary though. lol.

Approved :D

I'm going to have to say no on this one, but only because it just looks like one person shaped blur/shadow. There's not really anything to distinguish it to me as male or female. Sorry!

I would also guess that's a moon from the stars, but the plane and the cloud both break up the circle of the moon so it wouldn't count for that option. I have seen it approved for several other tasks though so I'm sure you'll be able to find a slot for it!

message 88: by Nicola (new)

Nicola | 1360 comments Can I please confirm for the 'numbers' option that only the Title itself and not the subtitle would be acceptable.

So 2001: A Space Odyssey would be ok but The Medieval WorldThe Birth of Europe: 400-1500 would not.

Morgan, thanks-totally missed the broken circle issue :/ Ugh.

I also had it slotted for a crooked letter author, so maybe I'll just use it there.

I had to expand this one, but the circle of the moon can be seen THROUGH the clouds that overlap it, so that means it CAN be used for option 2. But only because the outline can still be seen.

A Fatal Grace (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #2) by Louise Penny is good for option 2

and Knit One, Kill Two definitely has counting numbers for option 5. :D
